Chris stayed at his parents' place to recover. William tried to convince Chris that he's not a terrible person, but Chris only told him to leave him alone.

Chris sat up and looked at his creature pod. He felt ashamed and called Aviva, who immediately answered.

"Aviva... I'm so sorry."

"For what?"

"You know... Getting you into this mess..."

"Mess? What mess? If you think our child is a mess, you are so dead wrong."

"But everyone hates me..."

"Chris. I called your mother and she told me how you felt. Not everyone hates you. I don't."

"Because your baby is mine..."

"But that doesn't mean that you can 'love' me..."

"CK, I love you no matter what. I told my parents that I got you into it, because you were so down. I didn't know I was fertile then. It wasn't your fault."

Chris sighed, "So much for being close friends... Now I just want to lock myself in this room forever."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Well, your parents are actually here at my parents' house. I overheard them talking. They're not mad that you got me pregnant. After all, we were close before."

"Just get to the point, Aviva... I'm in a sorry mood now."

"Your parents and mine wants us to get married."

Chris cried, "NO!"

"What?"

"I can't marry... the baby... Aviva..."

"Chris, calm down. Come over here. I was just actually going to call you."

"Aviva..."

"CK, please."

Chris saw her dove eyes shining and her smile bright. He smiled faintly also, "Well alright... I'm coming."

Aviva grinned, "Oh, CK! I can't wait to see you."

Chris got dressed after calling Aviva and went out for a walk over to her parents'. He was nervous that they would get on him about getting their daughter pregnant. He sighed as he neared the beautiful house. He walked up the ramped driveway up to the porch. He saw his father and Aviva's father sitting on the porch, drinking from some glasses some pop. Chris sighed as he neared the men.

Michael lifted his glass of soda, "Cheers for my son-in-law!"

William clanked his glass with Michael. Chris was surprised that they accepted him into the family. Aviva came outside with a smile on her face.

William said, "Hey, take that dear girl of yours and show her who's the best in your life."

Chris stood still, wondering what his father meant. Michael laughed, "Kiss the girl, silly!"

Chris blushed and looked at Aviva. Aviva came over and kissed Chris right under his lips. Chris felt his chin burn from the cool kiss. William groaned, "That'll do. Come sit with son while the ladies talk."

Chris sat on the chair and rubbed his hands together. He was so happy to see his own flesh again. William sipped his soda pop and said, "Son, Michael and I were just talking. How would it feel like to be a married man?"

Chris jerked up, "What? I have no idea."

Michael smiled, "Aviva told us all those nights you snuck off, talking. She told us that she told you one evening and you were a bit surprised as well as ashamed."

Chris watched Michael handed him a glass full of his own soda and ice cubes. He took it and watched the air bubbles float to the top and pop at the brink of the ice. He didn't answer due to the fact, he didn't know.

William said, "Aviva had that bedroom all made out. It has one privacy window, son. It would be perfect for the both of you. Your bedroom is a bit too large for you. Prehaps a nursery?"

Chris still watched the bubbles. But he heard every word his father said.

Michael smiled, "Cat got your tongue? First your eyes and now your speech?"

William chuckled, "Oh, he's good at that."

What the fathers didn't know, what that Chris was actually crying. His eye filled with tears as he slowly put the straw to his mouth. William noticed Chris was a bit too quiet and said, "Son... Are you... upset?"

Chris gulped his drink and shook his head. William raised an eyebrow, "Uh, okay. But did you hear what Michael and I have to say?"

Chris nodded as he watched the soda with little amusement.

William said, "But why aren't you answering?"

Chris looked up, tears glowed his face. Then, William understood, "Son."

Chris went up to his father and William hugged him tight. Chris said, "I don't how to answer."

William, for the first time, kissed his adult son on the forehead. Chris was a bit shocked, but very cared for. He cuddled close to his father's side and closed his eyes as he gripped his father's hands.

Michael smiled, "He hadn't changed one bit."

William nodded slightly, careful not to disturb his son's peaceful rest.

The front door opened to Linda. She saw Chris up against his father and stared briskly at William. William didn't answer, but cuddled his son closer.

"William, that boy is only to cuddle up to his wife."

"Linda!"

Chris jerked his head up and said, "I'm not married... Wait, Dad?"

William said, "Linda... You blew it."

Chris said, "Dad, what did you do?"

"I had paperwork signed that you and Aviva were married."

"But... But... We aren't."

"Chris," Answered Linda, sitting on Chris' seat, "If you marry now, in five months, people will notice a baby is born. Besides, Aviva liked the idea and is going to spend all those lonely nights with you, forever."

Chris lay his head back on his father's collarbone. He said, "But I got her pregnant..."

"We all know that, Chris," Answered Michael.

Chris sighed, "Martin's going to kill me..."

Linda said, "Not if he is with us."

Chris jerked up again to see Martin standing at the doorway. He wasn't mad or upset. He had a smile on his face... Something was going to happen.

William stood up as Chris slipped into his father's chair. He curled up on the seat and sighed deeply. William said, "Nope. You coming with us, son."

Chris sighed and stood up. He crossed his arms, not in a good mood. He just wanted to go home and cry it all out.

In the house, was the whole family. Everyone was happy as well as proud of the new baby. Aviva was sitting on the couch with her legs tucked in under her body. Laura was sitting on her left side, smiling and holding baby Marlin in her arms.

Chris saw the empty seating on Aviva's right side. he looked to his father, who nodded lightly. Chris went over around the arm chairs, pass the living table and sat on Aviva's right side. Aviva smiled as Chris settled himself.

Before Chris was comfortable, she lay on his chest and rested her hand on his right shoulder. Chris was a bit uncomfortable but his father smiled as he looked at him.

Martin sat on the arm chair and crossed his legs and smiled, "I am so excited."

Chris made a face, "Uh... Weren't you upset an hour ago?"

"Not anymore, husband," Martin winked. Chris couldn't believe his brother called him a husband. He blushed and felt Aviva rubbing his chest up to his shoulder.

The family had a good time. Chris somehow joined in the fun and didn't even notice his arm around Aviva. Then... a crash alerted the family.

Martin and Chris stared at each other in complete shock. The wives sat up, Laura gripped her son closer to her breasts.

Then, a soft mutter was heard. Chris jumped up, "MOTHER!"

William and Martin ran to the kitchen. Chris beat them to the room. There on the floor, his mother was sprawled upon. Chris was crying and fell to his knees and tried to feel for his mother's pulse. William lifted his wife's head and rested her on his lap. Martin said, "I'm calling an ambulance."

Chris was crying. William didn't want to disturb him, knowing he loved his mother. William said, "Son... please, go sit down."

"No! I want to stay with my mother!"

Minutes later, an ambulance was heard. Two guys and two girls came running in and asked the husband and son to leave the room. William had to drag Chris away from his mother. Chris hid his face in his father's shirt, crying loudly, letting William's body muffling his cries.

One guy stood up and said, "What is your name?"

William answered, "William Kratt. Husband to Linda."

"I'm sorry, sir... Your wife had a terrible fall. Her ankle is twisted badly. She hit her head on the counter and there's a severe lump on her head... She had been bleeding."

Chris cupped his ears as he held close to his father.

"We need to take her to the hospital... If we don't stop the bleeding in the next couple hours, she might die."

Chris screamed loudly. William dragged Chris to the hallway and cried, "Why are you so upset?!"

"She's my mother, Dad! I don't want her to die!"

"Chris... Son, listen to me," He lowered his voice, "You're married to Aviva... If your mother never comes out of this... You have Aviva for comfort."

"But what about you?"

"Your mother had been really sick, son... I'll understand if she'll die. But I can't let my wife's death prohibit me from my boys and grandkids."

Chris smiled. The tears stopped instantly. His child was William's grandbaby. He felt proud for his father's decision. But the tears began to flow again, "I want Mother to see... my baby."

William smiled. Now his son was being positive, "But not everyone is going to do as you want, son."

"Mr. William?"

"Yes, ma'dam?"

"We're headed to the Memorial Hospital."

"Okay, I'll be there in a few minutes."

"Yes, sir."

William looked at Chris and said, "Go to the Tortuga and be with your wife. I'll call you."

William left his son in the hallway. Chris turned to his side away from the kitchen area and let the tears flow some more. Seconds later, he felt soft hands rubbing up his crossed arms, "CK?"

"Aviva."

"Are you okay?"

"Of course, I'm not."

Aviva kissed Chris' cheek, "Let's go home. Your father will call you."

Chris left the wall and followed Aviva. His face was still to the floor. He saw the ambulance leaving the driveway. Martin said, "Come with us, bro."

He looked up to see Martin and Laura in front of the Adventure Jeep. Chris tucked at Aviva's hand gently and she turned and he tilt his head towards the Creatrea.

At the Tortuga, Koki and Jimmy were horrified to hear what happened to Linda. They watched Chris retreat to his bedroom and decided to leave him alone. Aviva went to follow him, but he turned, "I want to be alone."

"Chris, you need me."

Chris couldn't stop her. Her soft hands rubbed his arms. Chris said, "Okay."

In his bedroom, he lay on her lap. Aviva brushed Chris' hair with her fingers. Chris was resting just above her belly. He thought he felt his child, but didn't say anything due to the thought of his mother.

Finally the phone rang. Chris started to cry again, but Aviva answered, "Hello?"

"Hey, Aviva. It's Martin... I got news from Dad. Now he wants to talk to Chris."

Aviva looked at Chris, "Okay. But he's not in a good mood."

"It's okay, sweetie," Said William, over his line, "I need to talk to him... private."

Aviva sat up and said, "Chris, your dad wants to talk to you privately. I'm going to be with Laura and Marlin."

Chris nodded and took the phone. He watched Aviva leave as he answered, "Hello?"

"Hey, son. Martin, you still on?"

"Yeah, Dad..."

Chris knew the silence was long. William continued, "Your mother had a heart attack. It was so severe and painful that she fell... Due to the fall, she hit her head on the counter, causing the skull to break a great amount of bone. Her brain got pierced."

Martin said, "Okay. Is there any treatment?"

"Well, surgery will do, but because of her heart attack, it's impossible. Her heart dropped badly and doing surgery could kill her."

Chris hiccupped his tears. William knew he was trying to hold them in as long as he could. He continued, "She's being watched by moniter."

"Is Mom going to make it?"

"It's a slight chance... She'll be lucky"

Chris turned mad. How had he become so heartless? He looked over to the door thinking about this sudden marriage to Aviva with no one knowing, he frowned and sai, "Dad. I think Mom is jealous."

Two voices echoed the phone, "WHAT?!"

Chris stood up and said, "Well isn't it obvious how you got me Aviva and we married all of a sudden? And isn't it a coincidence that she hurt herself in the kitchen?"

"SON! You don't know that for sure. Your mother was a sickly woman in the family. What are you so high on yourself?"

Chris shammed the phone down after shutting it off. He toss himself on his bed and started to cry once more. He hid his face in the covers and cried loudly, so no one can hear him. Finally he sat up and dried his tears. He snuck out of the Tortuga to get to the hospital to see his mother.

The nurse led him to the room and requested five minutes. Chris sat on a chair and gripped his mother's lifeless hands and cried softly, "Mom, come back. I'm going to leave everything to be with you. I promise with all my heart."

Her hand gripped his as he looked up in happiness. Her eyes were half open as she said softly, "Son... Stay with Aviva... I knew I was dying soon, so I thought about that... so you don't... feel... alone... from this world... Take care of my grand baby, son."

Chris' eyes lightened, "Mother, no... Mother!"

Her hand lost that heavy grip. Chris panted hard, "MOTHER!"

The nurse came running in. She did the pulse and turned to Chris, who was crying at the desk of the nurses station, "Sir? Are you her son?"

"Yes..."

"I'm sorry, but your mother died."
