Damien held his head in his hands; he was in his room. 'No, no, no...' he kept thinking to himself. How could they let HIM go? After what he did...even after all these years, the mental wounds were still fresh. His biggest question still remained unanswered...were they safe?

Alice stared at the roof, her mind drifting to Damien...what was he so afraid of?

*Ding*

She picked up her phone expecting Damien but frowned when she saw it was Clove. "How did the 'date' go?"

Alice quickly typed back. "It wasn't a date! He just showed me around city..." She paused, holding onto a thought, she typed, "Do you know anything about Damiens past?" and pressed send.

Damien walked into the living, GG was watching the news. "GG, can we talk?" GG looked up at him, and smiled, "Of course...i assume this is about your father?" He nodded, scratching behind his ear. "Sit down my dear, please." He growled, "No. I just want you to tell me why is he is being let go." GG reached up and grabbed his paw, pulling him down next to her on the couch. "Damien, I know you feel angry, I wouldn't blame you after what happened. But the police assured me that they'll have a close eye on him." His claws came out and he slightly bared his teeth. "C'mon GG you can't tell me that you believe that."

"What's...going on?" A young sleepy voice whispered. It was Star, who was rubbing her eyes sleepily. Damien got up and scooped up the little grey kit. "What are you doing up, Star?" He asked. She put her head on his shoulder, "I heard you talking, you sounded mad, uncle Damien..." she already started to drift off as he stroked the fur on top of her head. "Don't worry about me, Star. I'm okay..." he looked at GG, mouthing "We'll talk about this later." And with that he carried Star up the stairs to the room, dread filling him.

Clove never answered Alice, leaving her even more confused and frustrated. The next day, at lunch, she looked for Damien but the wolf was nowhere to be seen. She sat at a table alone, till Clove slid into the table right next to her. "Hi!" Clove exclaimed. Alice ignored her, hoping she would get the message. "Your not mad cause I didn't tell you about him are you?" She asked. Alice looked at her, "What do you think?" Clove just sighed..."You've known him for 2 days and you already are peering into his life? Why are you so interested?" Alice thought about it...why did she care? Was this just being nosy? No...something else was driving her to this. Her nose twitched as she thought. "Nevermind, Clove...your right. I'll let it go."

At the end of day, Griz came up to Alice, "Ms. O'Hare, could I ask you to take this homework to Damien? He requested that somebody brings the homework for the day so he could stay caught up." She smiled and nodded, "I will make sure he gets it, sir." This was her chance to talk to him about what was troubling her.

When she knocked, GG answered the door, "Oh, Alice! What a surprise! Please come in." She hugged GG, who asked, "What brings you here today?" Alice handed her the homework, "This is for Damien, its the homework he asked for." "Oh I'll make sure to hand it to him." Alice's foot tapped rapidly, "He's not here?" "No, no, my dear. He left to see some old friends." GG smiled, sadly. Alice walked to the door, opening and waving goodbye. "Tell Damien, I said hi and that I hope he's okay. Bye, GG!" GG watched the hare walked down the sidewalk...thinking..'the first prey that's not actually afraid of us. That girl is strange.'

Damien sat on a chair in front of two graves, his eyes threatening to cry..why the fuck did life have to be this way...why? There was a sharp stab of pain in his head, and a faint scream cut through the silence. His ears twitched looking for the sound, his eyes searching...till he heard it again...realizing..it was in his head. The screams sounded like...no, no, he could hear faint laughing, deep laughing..and a crunching. No, no, no, no! Damien covered his ears running, trying to get away from the thoughts, from the nightmares, from the truth.

The names on the two graves read Mary Wolfsbane, beloved mother. And Hope Wolfsbane, beloved sister...
