(A Few weeks later..)

Both Damien and Alice had grown close, often spending their spare time together. Both only said they were friends, but everyone else saw something else. Alice had a trip coming up where she was going to go home to Bunnyburrow and she was on the fence of asking Damien if he wanted to come and see her home with her. He had taken her to Tundra Town, to show her a small deli that served some really good beet soup. It was cute that he thought of her like that. The way he looked at her still confused her..

"Hey Fluff, you okay?" he had flicked her in the forehead, his head tilted to the side.

"Yeah, sorry I was thinking about something." she says, rubbing her head.

"What's on your mind?" he asks, scooping up some snow as they walked back to the train.

"I wanted to ask something..." she said pulling her jacket tighter around herself, and letting her ear drop and hide her face.

His eyes narrowed looking at her, he could feel his heart speed up at the question...taking a deep breath to calm himself, "Well what's your question?"

"We're friends right?" She avoided his gaze.

He couldn't understand why he felt his heart drop at the question. But he didn't let it show on his face. "Yeah, is that the question? Or is there something more?"

"Yeah...there is..um...I was wondering if you'd like to come with me to Bunnyburrow this weekend cause I'm going back home for a few days. So..I thought I could show you things and maybe for once you could really see the stars." She looked up at him shyly.

The wolf looked at her closely...it unnerved her how he was looking at her. Like he could see inside her. It bothered her even more that he said nothing. "...Sure...yeah, I'd like to go. But would it be okay with me going?" He asked.

"It should be okay." She nodded. 'But the fact that he's a predator will complicate things more.' she thought to herself.

He gave her small smile, happy that she wanted to show him things..she was opening up to him like he was with her. As they turned the corner to his house, they saw ZPD cars in front of his home, their lights shining and Damien ran full sprint without thinking up to the cars.

A lion in uniform stopped him, "Whoa there son. What are you doing?" He could see some deep claw marks on the door and it was open.

"I fucking live here! Where's my grandma and my sister?!" He tried to push past the lion but he only pushed Damien back.

"Easy boy." He said threatening as he put his hand on his baton.

"Damien!" Alice pulled his paw hard, making him focus on her. "Please just be calm. I'll be with you okay?" She could see the fear in his eyes. He nodded at her, squeezing her paw.

"Just tell me if my grandma's okay, officer, please." He pleaded with the lion. The lion held up his large paw as he spoke into his radio, facing away from the two.

'What happened? What's with the claw marks? Could it be...?' Damiens mind was speeding at a mile a minute.

That's when the lion turned to him again snapping him out of his thoughts, "Son, where were you about an hour earlier?" He noticed that lion paw slowly drift to his gun on his hip. 'Did they think he did this?'

"I was with my friend here, why?" He tensed his body, preparing for anything that might happen.

That's when an older voice spoke loudly from the porch, "Officer! My grandson would not do this! I've already told you who it was."

The lion and Damien turned to see GG standing in the doorway. Damien ducked under the caution tape, running past the officer and towards GG. "What happened?" He looked at her concerned.

She reached up to his face, making him bend more as she patted his head. "It was your father. He was here looking for you. I've tried to tell the police but they think that it was just a hate crime."

"They don't want to admit they don't know where he is. Letting him free was a mistake." Damien said with a grim face. "GG you should stay somewhere else."

She nodded "Your sister got a hotel for me and her and the kits. But I think you should stay somewhere else in case he comes again. Please dont think I'm trying to abandon you."

"No I understand GG. This..." he motions to the cops and cars. "This should have ended all those years ago. I'm sorry it's coming up again. I don't want him to hurt you or the family. Alice offered for me to go with her to Bunnyburrow so I'm thinking of going with her."

GG looked at Alice, who watched from the edge of the caution tape. "Do you really want to involve her in all this? You know what your father will do to her."

He looked at Alice too, smiling and waving at her, letting her know it was okay. "If he knows where we are then, he probably knows about her too. It would do her good that I'm there to keep her safe."

"But who will keep you safe?" GG asks.

No one. He thinks to himself. "I can take care of myself GG. Do you need me to stay with you?"

"No I have to wait for the police to finish their report. You should grab some clothes and have them ready...Damien can I give you some advice?" He gives her a nod. "I've noticed you and Alice have gotten close. There's something there that I think the both of you have felt but never acted on. Do you feel something for her?"

He looked at the hare...she made him feel...whole. A part of something. But wasn't it wrong? She was prey and he was...a predator.

"I know what your thinking Damien. You are troubled cause you realized you are of two worlds, right?" GG asked him her paw caressing his cheek. He nodded at her. "All I can say is follow your heart. Your young just think about everything okay? But as of right now, I think you should go with her. Getting away from the city will do you well."

Damien nods and walks over to Alice, "Hey."

"Is GG okay?" She asks with concern in her voice. Her blue eyes searched his dark ones for answers.

He smiles at her. "Yeah...just someone taking a prank too far. But just in case GG and my sister are going to a hotel for a couple of days. And I can go with you to Bunnyburrow if you'd still have me."

Alice felt like Damien was still hiding something from her...but she also knew it wasn't her business. They both agreed to meet at the train station to head to Bunnyburrow.

Before long they were on their way to Bunnyburrow. Damien had fallen asleep, next to her. She could see his face twitching, the way his body moved she could see he was having a nightmare. She slipped her paw into his and squeezed it, letting him know that she was there...it was then she saw that his twitching stopped and he breathed deeper. He growled, a deep growl but it wasn't threatening...he placed his head on hers.

She had to admit it...being like this with Damien was...nice. Alice smiled, content with this. It would be a few hours till they arrived. Could Damien ever feel anything for her? Did he?
