Alice spent the rest of the afternoon with GG, trying to understand why he would have left, and explained that he had left Bunnyburrow on his own, not because she had told him to leave. But according to GG, she didn't know why he would leave. Her attitude changed to something more solemn when Alice brought up his dad. "Why are you asking about him?" GG asked looking over her cup of tea.

"I only want to understand why...Why would he leave? Where would he go?" Alice asked.

GG sat quietly for awhile, just swirling her tea, "Why do you care?"

"I just told you why, GG."

"No, you gave me reasons why your here but not why you care about him." she replied.

Alice had hoped that she wouldn't ask only because it would be awkward. "Well, it's mainly because...I feel responsible for his leaving."

"Why is that, I wonder?"

"Before Damien left my home from Bunnyburrow, I followed him to the train station because he had heard me talking to my father..." she hesitated, wanting to tell her why but then she decided against it. "I had been telling my dad that...I care for Damien but my dad has a problem with predators and I was trying to convince him to trust Damien."

"How deep is your care for him?" GG asked. Alice stayed quiet. GG had a feeling about Alice, she knew her feelings are deeper than she let on, but she wasn't gonna push. "Damien doesn't have many places to go but there is one that I'm pretty sure he ended up."

Alice moved forward in her seat, "Where do you think he is?"

"If I'm right, he went home..." GG said looking at Alice solemnly.

Alice left GG's house with more questions than answers. She wondered if it was possible for her to get to his old home, especially with her aunt. Apparently, his mom had left him a house for when he was older but he had always not wanted to be there because...his mother had died in the house... She also was wondering why GG had stopped her before she left...'I know why you care, and I'm not one to judge, love can take many forms. But be mindful, you may be the only one that can save him from himself. But don't lose yourself in trying to save him.'

GG's words bounced around Alice's head, as she walked home. She looked towards the Tundra District. Somewhere Damien was in there, hiding. She looked down the street, she didn't know why she was hesitant to go home. Just the thought of possibly finding Damien was holding her back. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, and started walking towards the train that would take her into the Tundra District..

Meanwhile...

Damien stared out the window watching the snow lazily fall. He had returned to where it all started and ended for him. He was sure his father would return here but since he had arrived there was no sign of him. Maybe he was afraid of this place too..

He missed Alice greatly but...he couldn't let himself get close to her, not with his father and past looming over him. He heard her confession about how she liked him but...it was something he couldn't accept. Who could ever love him? How? They were from different worlds, predator and prey. Such love is deemed as wrong in Zootopia; everyone would judge them. He chastised himself for even thinking that it work...

He was glad that he left her, besides it was for her safety, his father was bound to end up hurting her if he continued to be in her life. He walked towards the kitchen when he felt a cold draft, which made him stop, it meant the front door was open. He crept silently, readying himself for the fight that was coming...when he peeked around the corner at the front door he didn't see anyone. He kept still trying to hear or smell something...there was something familiar in the air but he couldn't remember what it belong to. There was a small scrape behind him and he wheeled around teeth bared.

Alice fell back as Damien wheeled around to face her, she saw his angry face and the hatred in his eyes. But instantly that faded when his eyes fell on her, "Alice?"

He bent and picked her up, "What are you doing here? How did you find me?"

"GG was the one that thought you might be here, I've been looking for you." She said looking up at him.

"Why? Do you not realize how dangerous it is to come looking for me?" He asked angrily. "I could've hurt you just now!"

"I knew it might be dangerous but I didn't care, I wanted to find you." She said calmly.

He turned away from her, "For what? To apologize? I don't want hear about how your sorry for the things your dad said. I don't care, Alice." He walked over and closed the front door.

"So you don't care? That's it then?" She stood there waiting for him to look at her.

"Yeah, that's it..." he opened the door "So..if you're done, thanks for visiting." He refused to meet her eyes as he waited.

Alice took a step towards the door, before taking one towards him...why did it hurt? She stood in front of him and pushed him with all her might. It caused him to take a step back. She then tried to punch him...this surprised Damien as he caught her fist. He looked at her face and saw tears streaming down her face.

"W-why? Why are you pushing me..everyone away?" She asked him, through the tears.

He knew her anger with him was justified. He let her go and knelt down to wipe the tears from her face. "Alice...I know you try to see the best in everything but..this is more complicated than that. I-"

"You need people Damien, whatever it is that's going on, pushing everyone away won't help." She said, leaning into his paw when it brushed her cheek.

He noticed her action and pulled away, standing up. "Alice, I don't expect you to understand..." Don't give me hope.

"How can I if you don't let me?" She asked. He didn't say anything..."I looked for you because I missed you because GG misses you. I didn't want you to face this alone...and most of all...because I need you."
