When Alvin realeased Digger from the hug, he looked at his old friend with a smile.

"I missed you man." Said Alvin giving his old friend a not to hard punch in the arm.

"You too." Said Digger with a smile but it quickly faded when he looked around. "Guys, want me to show you the way back above ground? It's not safe to stay in these unstable tunnels."

"Yes, yes, yes!" Said a scared Theodore who ready to leave. "Let's book it!"

Digger looked at Theodore confused. "What he'd just say?"

"What Theodore means is, 'he's ready to get back above ground'." Simon said.

"Oh alright, follow me." Digger said as he started to lead the way.

Alvin, Simon, and Theodore followed behind.

"YAY! We're finally back above groud! Oh how I missed it!" Theodore said as he jumped up and ground.

Alvin turned to Simon. "Hey Simon how's your vison holding up?" he asked, clearly with concearn in his voice.

"Not so great." Simon said as he started to walk over to Alvin but tripped over something.

"Simon!" Alvin and Theodore ran over to their brother and helped him to his feet.

"Thanks guys." Simon said.

"I see that you tripped over these." Digger said he walked over to the object Simon tripped over. "Here, try these glasses, they might help you see better." Digger walked over to the brothers.

Simon took the black-rimmed glasses from Digger and placed them on his face. He gasped astoundingly as the blurrines he used to see had gone away changed more clearly.

"Wow!" He gasped. "Thanks."

"Your welcome." Digger said. "Well I better be seeing myself off."

"Why?" Theodore asked.

"I got my own life to get back too. My mate Tray must be wondering where I am." Digger said blinking dreamily when he said his mate's name. He quickly snapped out of it.

"Wait Digger before you leave can you tell us one thing about our parents?" Asked Alvin hopefully.

Digger tapped his chin before speaking. "The only I remember is my Ma tellin' me that they went to San Fransico."

"That's all?" Said Simon.

"Yep." Digger said. "I know a truck stop not to far away from the forest that can take ya'll to San Fransico." He snapped his fingers. "Like that."

"Great let's go." Alvin said.

"Not without me you ain't!"

Digger recognized that country accent he looked up and saw a figure sitting on a tree branch, it was none ober than his mate; Tray. He had the same fur shade like Digger but lighter and he was wearing a cowboy hat.

"Tary!" Digger beamed as he saw his mate.

"Yeeee-haaw!" The cowboy did a flip and landed perfecly on his feet which made Digger swoon.

"How's my lover doin'?" Tray asked as he kissed his mate on the cheek, he then noticed the three chipmunks. "Who are these guys?"

"They're Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. I'm helping them find their parents." Digger said.

"If your helpin' em' I'm comin' with ya." Tray said.

"But Tray who's gonna watch the_" Digger began but Tray sushed him.

"Din't worry love, my aunt is watching them." Tary finished.

"Sorry y'all, my name is Tray. I was raised in the country before movin' here." Tray turned his attention back to Digger and pulled in into a loving embrace.

"Um, sorry to interuppted your moment but we're on a schedule here to find our parents here!" Alvin suddenly screamed pushing between the two lovers.

Tray grabbed Alvin by the throat and pulled him closer to his face. He whispered to him in a harsh tone.

"Look. Alvin, was it? Don't try anything with my Digger or else your not gonna like what's gonna happen to ya. Cause to me it it looks like..." He softened his voice. He spoke out loud. "You want to spend more time with your brothers, hmmm?"

"Tray is right Alvin. You haven't been spending more time with us since we've begun this journey." Simon said.

"But he..." Alvin began.

"Go over there!" Tray shoved Alvin away and made his way over to Digger.

"I love you." Tray said with a smile.

"I love you too." Digger smiled.

The two of the gophers shared a long, loving kiss.

"Now my diggy-wiggy what was the thing you were tellin' them earlier?" Tray asked.

"I said that there was a truck stop that could take us to San Francisco." Digger explained. "It might take us a little while to get there."

"Great. Let's go." Tary said as he locked arms with Digger.

Simon and Theodore followed Tray. Nobody seemed to know Alvin was lagging behind.

"Are really from a cowboy?" Theodore asked in awe.

"Where did get that cowboy hat from?" Simon asked.

"My Tray is one of a kind." Digger said

Alvin growled.

"Tray..." Alvin said. "You won't replace me that easily..."
