The next place they went was Portugal.
Took them a long time to get there, in truth. Drive to France and got a boat there. Sort of a cruise, sort of just an overnight ferry.
Albus made friends with a boy on the boat, and they got along well, staying in contact, untill a few years later when albus learnt that the boy was a raging homophobe, who would even admit he was.
Landed in Spain and drove to Portugal. They stayed overnight in an expensive hotel, with an excellent breakfast. It was almost a standard hotel breakfast, but It all felt home made, and fresh. And the oranges were heaven.
Driving to where they were staying, they had the landrover windows open, and the smell of the oranges drifted in. It's hard to explain the sent, other than the fact that it was flowery and fresh and amazing. Like heaven.
They stayed in a house by a beach, it was a fairly relaxed time. They swan in the pool, and in the sea. Once, they walked to a different beach, and there was a tunnel through the cliffs. They went through it, and found themselves on a secret beach. It was empty and unaccessible save through the tunnel, which you had to go on your belly to get through at one point.
Once, on the main beach, Albus found a very unique find. It was a shell, but it was in a rock. Rough to touch, almost partially fossilized, you could say. It was beautiful, and albus kept it.
Teddy and albus went on a walk without the others, along the sea front, and they found a beach that was completely unaccessible, the only way down stairs, which had been closed.
There stay in Portugal was a nice calm break, a calm before the storm that was morrocco.
See, after Portugal, they drove into spain, to a town by the seaside, from which you could see Africa. They booked a ferry to morrocco.
There was a storm that evening though, so the ferry was canceled. The tent leaked somewhat, and was a touch unpleasant.
The following day, they got in the ferry. The landrover was too tall, it couldn't fit properly, so it was sort of tied down. They went to Africa, watching the mountains of morrocco rise up in front of them, excited to see Africa at last.
