Ethan and Joy ask about Joe's tablet, he tells them that the book used to be an ordinary book, they ask him what does that have to do with his tablet. Joe tells them that he's getting to that part, he tells them that a laser hit the book, giving it powers, it recalibrated because he hadn't used it in so long, and it became a tablet because it had enough energy after the explosion it became a tablet.
