We're All in This Together

Disclaimer: All familiar characters, situations, settings, etc. belong to Disney/Marvel.

A/N: Hardcore movie fans know BH6 might have taken place during 2032, which means the whole crew had to endure COVID-19, just like us! Hiro would have been 1-2 years old and Tadashi anywhere from 6-10 years (he's roughly 6-7 years older than Hiro in my stories).

Not much source material, since we don't know much about Cass's history with the café, Hiro & Tadashi's parents, etc.

Cass is screwed.

No customers allowed in the café. The grand re-opening was less than a year ago and the Lucky Cat gets by, but she still needs people to come and get coffee and treats on a near-daily basis. How is she supposed to do that now? Will they still come if they can only have take-out? What goodies are tempting enough to lure her neighbors away from 24/7 reality TV? Will she still be able to get her supply orders?

Ooo-hoo-hoo! She's got a subscription service for toilet paper! A glimmer of hope - at least she won't have to wipe her butt with mismatched socks.

She's in the middle of calculating how much toilet paper she can use to bribe customers when her phone dings. How would you feel about some company for the lockdown? asks the message on her lock screen.

"What kind of company?" Cass demands a moment later. Her sister better not be setting her up with some random guy. Unless he's really good looking and NOT a jerk. Bonus points for being able to make macarons, because Cass hasn't quite figured those out yet.

"I just thought it might be nice to be all together," her sister explains on the phone, and Cass realizes it's them she means - she wants to come with her husband and kids to stay here, in the house their grandparents left to Cass - the house Mae said she didn't want to have to fix up, above the dwindling café she didn't want to help takeover. "And our playground is closed."

Cass isn't sure how to respond. She's still figuring out what to do about the café. And she likes her space, even if the house feels a little too big and lonely sometimes. She loves her sister, but can she really deal with Mae's "balanced lifestyle" and her ultra perfect husband and a toddler - a really loud toddler - for...for...how long is this supposed to last again?

"It's not like I'm asking to stay for free," Mae rushes, sensing Cass's hesitation. "We'll help with the utilities. And I can help clean and cook and whatever…"

"...Is it okay if we come, Aunt Cass?" Tadashi's voice, all innocent and hopeful. Mae probably put him on the phone on purpose, knowing her nephews are a weak spot. She hears Hiro in the background, screaming something about Go Annie Cass House! Eat 'roni! Tadashi's voice again. "Can you make macaroni and cheese? Mom says she doesn't know how."

"Let me talk to your mom," Cass responds, waiting to hear Mae's voice again.

"So?" her sister asks hopefully.

"You're bringing your own toilet paper."

If Cass had a cat before Mochi, what would she name it?
