Chapter Three: Bitchy Brittney
Here's a couple of quick notes: First of all although a lot of this story is based on a roleplay I've been really wanting to do a fic like this for a long time now and this just MIGHT wind up to be a series at some point. Also, there might be some existing songs mentioned later on and to avoid spoilers I'm not going to say anything else about it as of right now.
All of the boys started enjoying their meals with their houses when all of a sudden Derek heard the voice of a little girl behind him. She had dark brown shoulder length hair, with dark brown eyes, and tanned skin. "Hello." She began while smiling up at him.
"Ah hullo there, you must be a first year as I don't remember seeing you here before." He began.
"Yeah that's because I am. I'm a foreign exchange student from America. My full name is April Rose Anderson, but I prefer to be called by my middle name of Rose." She said as Derek smiled rather warmly at her.
"Well it sure is a pleasure to meet you Rose. My name is Derek Douglas Dodger." He told her before shaking her hand.
"Man, I sure wish that everybody around here was as nice as you are. These really mean girls were making fun of me on the train and calling me a mudblood." She told him while blinking away her tears as suddenly Derek found himself becoming incredibly angry.
"Let me guess, they were Slytherins right?" He questioned her as she just silently nodded and then sniffed and wiped her nose on the back of her hand. "Don't worry, I've been called the same thing as I'm the only wizard in my family as well.
I wouldn't worry about it too much though, when they go around bullying other kids like that it only just makes them look bad. My guess is that it was probably Brittney Stevenson as she's as nasty as it gets." He told her before continuing to eat his meal.
Once the feast had ended Bailey was completely and utterly both shocked and horrified to learn that her older brother was made head boy for this year. "Oh great! As if he wasn't telling me what to do enough already." She said with a groan and a roll of her eyes.
"I heard that." Aaron said from behind her. "Unfortunately for you Carly is in the same house as us so we're all going to go back to the Gryffindor common room together." He told her as Carly looked down and smiled at Ginger.
"Aww,.. you have a cat? So do I and he sort of looks like yours except he's completely orange and doesn't have any white on him at all. That's why I named him Pumpkin." She explained.
"Really? That's neat, where is he?" Bailey wondered.
"Oh I don't know, he's probably hunting mice around here somewhere." Carly replied as they started heading back to the common room when all of a sudden Carly came to a stop in front of a Slytherin girl. She had long black hair all tied up into a green scrunchie and blackish brownish eyes. "Oh hey Stevie." She said and Stevie's eyes widened with delight as soon as she caught sight of Aaron.
"You're dating Aaron Parker!?" She cried as Carly giggled and Aaron blushed.
"No we're not dating, we literally just met,.. well officially anyways considering that we're both on the Gryffindor Qudditch team." She explained.
"You're friends with a Slytherin?" Bailey questioned her with disbelief.
"It's alright Bailey, Stevie isn't anywhere near as mean as snobbish as a lot of the other Slytherins." Carly reassured her.
"Yep, it's true. I just need an attitude adjustment is all." Stevie replied.
"Well, it was sure nice meeting you Stevie, but you really need to be getting back to the Slytherin common room now." Aaron told her.
"Yeah Stevie you don't want Slytherin to lose points before classes even begin now do you?" A voice from behind her questioned and as Stevie slowly spun around she saw a blonde haired blue eyed witch standing in front of her with her hair tied up into a pink ponytail holder and holding a Siamese cat while she chewed her strawberry Droobles bubblegum and popped it right in front of her face.
"Brittney, I really don't have time for this right now. I have to get to bed." She told her before continuing on her way.
"You know, it's rather difficult for me to believe that somebody so handsome can have a muggleborn for a best friend." Brittney said to Aaron.
"And it's rather difficult for me to believe that as somebody as snobby and bitchy as you could have any friends." Carly said as Aaron quickly withdrew his wand and glared at Brittney. "Come on Aaron, she isn't worth you losing your job and getting detention over." Carly told him as he was now a few inches away from her face and gently grabbed him by the arm and slowly began pulling him away back towards the Gryffindor common room.
The next morning at breakfast most everybody in the Great Hall was busy talking about the competition. "So Aaron, do you plan on entering it?" Carly wondered but Aaron just simply shrugged.
"I'm not sure. I mean I want to, but our group doesn't even have a name and we've never even written a song before,.. and besides that I have absolutely no idea what we're going to wear." He replied as Bailey grinned at him.
"Well that's where I can help you as you know I was basically born to design wizarding clothes and costumes. Meet me in the Gryffindor common room after classes and then we can talk." Bailey said before she continued eating her breakfast.
"Say, what class do you have first anyways?" Carly questioned Aaron.
"The new music class ironically enough, what about you?" He questioned her back before she heaved a sigh.
"Double potions with the Slytherins and unfortunately enough Bitchy Brittney is in my year." She replied as Bailey laughed.
"Ouch! I have the same after music but at least I won't have it with her, that way I can concentrate since I want to become an auror someday." Aaron said when suddenly Bailey looked at him with confusion.
"I thought that you wanted to become a singer." She said.
"I do, but there's no wizarding law in existence that says I can't be both." He pointed out as she smiled lovingly at him.
"I guess you're right, and no matter what happens you have my support big brother." She told him as he smiled back at her.
"Thanks little sister." He told her and then gave her a grin and a wink before they all finished their breakfast together.
