Chapter Six: Brittney's Plot
"So, does anybody have any ideas on what we're going to sing?" Derek wondered.
"Not a clue." The other boys replied simultaneously with a shake of their heads as they started walking towards the Great Hall together when all of a sudden they were stopped by a very familiar blonde.
"Brittney, what do you want now?" Aaron questioned her reluctantly with a groan and a roll of his eyes.
"You of course." She replied with a grin.
"Yeah well, my man Aaron isn't even remotely interested." Rickie said.
"Yeah, and we've got homework to do so get out of our way." Derek told her.
"Since when do you think I'm going to let a mudblood tell me what to do?" She questioned him and that's when suddenly Aaron could no longer take it and quickly withdrew his wand once again.
"Furnunculus!" He cried with a slight wave of his wand and he simply just grinned as pimples started popping up all over Brittney's skin that were huge and ugly making Derek and Justin both burst into laughter.
"Eww! Eww!" Brittney cried before she quickly turned around and ran away.
"Nice one Aaron!" Derek cried while giving him a high-five, but Rickie just simply sighed and shook his head.
"If you cause Gryffindor to lose points because of that your sister isn't going to be happy." He told him.
"Who cares!? That was great!" Derek exclaimed but Rickie just simply sighed again.
"Didn't your parents ever teach you to turn the other cheek?" He questioned.
"No." Derek began. "Rickie, you really have to learn to loosen up. Brittney had it coming to her!" He cried.
"Yeah and I'm really afraid that what will be coming next for Aaron is a detention." Rickie said as all four boys entered the Great Hall together to work on their homework and then afterwards, they decided to start working on their harmonies.
"So guys, what song should we sing for practice?" Derek questioned again.
"Well, there's song that my mother used to sing to me when I was a kid." Aaron began before he started to sing softly and soothingly as if it were a lullaby. "Come my child, and go to sleep,.. as the wind blows through the breeze. The snoring trees and the sleeping dragons are telling you that it's time for bed." He sang.
"Hey, my mother used to sing that to me as well." Justin told them before he began to sing softly and soothingly as well. "The fairies dance and the centaurs prance in time to my musical rhyme, let sweet dreams and wishes fill your head, for it is time for bed." He sang before he, Aaron, and Rickie all started harmonizing together and Derek made a few ooh's in the background.
"For it is a magical night of enchantment with every dream you have,.. musical and magical,..just as my love,.. for you,.. oh just as my love for you,.. just as my love for you my precious child." They all sang together as they exchanged smiles.
"What was that called anyways?" Derek wondered.
"An Enchanted Lullaby. My mum used to sing it to me all the time as well." He replied.
"It's such a shame what all you miss out on when you were raised by muggles." Derek said before heaving a sigh.
"Yeah, but on the other hand you know more about muggles than any of us." Aaron pointed out.
"Actually, I know quite a bit about muggles since my grandfather was a muggleborn and my grandmother was a muggle." Justin told him as Aaron just simply looked at him. "Maybe I should just shut up about it though." He said as he instantly got the message.
"That would probably be a good idea." Aaron told him with a threatening tone in his voice.
"Aaron don't start. We need to be working on practicing remember? And we should actually get to work on writing a song for the auditions as well." Rickie pointed out.
"Yeah, you're right." Aaron reluctantly admitted with a sigh. "We also should work on what we're going to wind up calling ourselves." He said before the boys continued practicing and working on writing their song.
Meanwhile Brittney had finally managed to make her way to the potions classroom and took out her wand and pointed it at the lock. "Alohomora." She said and she waited to hear it click before it magically unlocked itself and she started gathering antidotes for the pimple jinx that Aaron had cast upon her.
"Those boys really think they've had the last laugh, they better just wait until tonight when I spike Aaron's drink with Amortentia, then he's going to be both helplessly and hopelessly in love with a real witch!" She exclaimed while tossing all of the ingredients into her now bubbling cauldron. Once it was finished bubbling, she poured it into a bottle and started drinking it and her skin returned to normal once again.
"Finally. It's about time." She said to herself and then started gathering the ingredients for Amortentia and laughed maliciously while a rather wide and evil grin stretched a crossed her face.
…..
"Hey, I heard that you hexed Brittney earlier." Bailey said to Aaron once it had became suppertime.
"Yeah,.. so?" He questioned her with uncertainty and a shrug but she just simply beamed at him.
"Well, I just wanted to say well done." She replied with a grin.
"Really?" He asked her while raising a questioning eyebrow at her.
"Yeah!" She exclaimed with a nod.
"Thanks." Aaron told her as he grinned back at her. "Looks like Rickie was wrong after all. He was afraid that you would be upset with me." He told her as it was Bailey's turn to look completely confused and bewildered.
"Why would I be upset? I can't think of one person in this school who actually likes Brittney." She replied.
"I can." Carly began. "And their names are Maxine Thomas, Crystal Johnson, and Lisa Davidson." Carly said.
"They don't count." Bailey began. "I'm talking about people that actually matter and I honestly can't think of anybody. Her own twin sister hates her guts." She finished as Aaron smirked.
"Tiffany? Oh yeah I've met her. I think that her and Justin sort of have a thing for each other even if they're four years apart." He said before continuing to chew and that's when suddenly Bailey rolled his eyes at him.
"Honestly Aaron Michael Parker, I might be four years younger than you,.. but at least I have the decency to chew with my mouth closed." She told him as she got up and exited the room and started heading for the girls' lavatory.
