Sarah walked into her apartment and sighed. Her day had been a whirlwind of chaos in every wake. "ARIBELLE I HAVE TO TALK TO YOU!" Sarah shouted and plopped herself on the futon on the balcony outside. She saw the Eiffel Tower and all the beautiful colors. She loved Paris. Suddenly she got too overwhelmed and started crying.
"Uh oh, That bad of a day?" Aribelle walked in holding two cups of wine and setting them in front of the futon "Tell me everything."
So Sarah told Aribelle about how she was almost late, had some dude try hitting on her, how her childhood "friend" was her soulmate and how she could see color now and about how she is just trying to be friends with him. She talked about how her other professor is rude and talked down to her because she's american. When that kid who tried hitting on her earlier in Jareth's class tried hitting on her again and she slapped him across the face when he tried touching her hair.
"Wow you can see color now?! Do you like it?! Are you happy?" Aribelle asked with an excited squeal.
"Really? Out of all the things I talked about, THAT had to be what you're most interested in?" Sarah was slightly annoyed that that's what Aribelle cared about. She had a tough day and that made her feel like her problems didn't matter.
"No! Love, I know that your day was rough. It will get better. I will talk some sense into the douchebag who tried touching you and smack him around. As for Mademoiselle LePham, just ignore her. She is stuck in her old ways. On the bright side, you see color now and your soulmate is your childhood friend. Everything will work out I promise." Abrielle started stroking Sarah's long wavy hair and tried to make her smile by cracking a couple jokes.
"Are you sure?" Sarah whispered into her wine glass.
"Positive. Now, I'll make us dinner. How about ratatouille and creme brule?"
"Sounds perfect, thank you Abrielle." Sarah looked out into the sky and saw the sun set. As she looked up, she saw that the sky was the same color as Jareth's eyes, just… not as magical.
Jareth looked out on his back porch into the trees in the park. He thought about home. He wondered how Sir Didymus was doing with the goblins and the kingdom. He knew that Sir Didymus could do it, he's done it before but he missed the Labyrinth. On the other hand though, he was happy to be here. He will get to see Sarah more often, he learned she was his soulmate, and his world has been in an array of color because of it, not just physically but emotionally. He looked into the trees, seeing all different shades of greens and browns. He thought of Sarah and how her eyes matched the trees. Her eyes of course were more beautiful to him but he loved all the color and lightness to it. The sun was starting to set and his breath hitched. What would it be like to see this with her? Or see it on top of the Eiffel Tower or on the river in a gondola. That's where he would take her on Friday, on a gondola in the river, He'd pack a lunch of fruit and sweets. No peaches though, that might cause a problem. He'd sing to her. He went back into his flat to plan out his lunch and start working on his syllabus for classes.
