Chapter 3
A few weeks had passed and Beck and Jade were finally moving into to their apartment. They'd found a small two bedroom only about a mile from Hollywood Arts. It was a little pricier than they'd wanted, but that's the price you pay when you want to live in Hollywood.
Around week 15, they finally built up the courage to feel their friends about the baby. They'd already told their parents and most of their family weeks prior, as well as Lane, Sikowitz, the principal, and several other teachers.
*flashback to week 15*
"So, is there a reason you asked us all here? I mean, I think it's cool, but the last time we were all in this RV, we were stuck in here for hours in over 110 degree heat." Tori said, remembering their not so good beach trip from Sophomore year.
Beck and Jade had invited Cat, Robbie, Tori, and André to the RV one Saturday afternoon.
"I promise, there won't be an giant RVs blocking the entrance this time. And yes, there is a reason we asked you all to come." Beck said.
"One time, my brother got locked in an RV. The crazy thing is, it wasn't even his RV. He just wondered into some stranger's RV when we were on a trip in Idaho." Cat babbled.
They all chose to ignore Cat's random story and instead continued on with the matter at hand.
"Jade and I have known something for awhile and have finally decided it's time to tell you."
"You're not getting married, right?" Robbie asked.
"No, dawg. Beck knocked her up." Rex exclaimed.
If looks could kill, that stupid puppet would've been dead 10 times over with the glare Jade gave it.
"Haha, very funny, Rex." Tori said, sarcastically. "That's not true, right?" Tori asked, suddenly realizing it didn't sound so crazy.
"Well..." Beck started.
"For real? You two are gonna have a baby?" André asked, trying to get some kind of confirmation.
"Yeah, we are. I actually am pregnant." Jade confirmed.
"You're gonna be a mom, Jadey?" Cat asked, finally coming back to reality from her own little world.
"Cat, you know how much I hate it when you call me that. But to answer your question, yeah, I'm gonna be a mom. Beck's gonna be a dad. We're gonna have a baby in about 6 months."
"Wow, congratulations you guys." Tori said, a smile gracing her face.
"Thanks, Tori." Beck said.
"So where are you guys gonna live?" Robbie asked.
"We're looking for apartments right now. We want to find something close to school." Beck answered.
"How're you guys gonna afford a baby? I mean I don't know how much they cost, but I know they're really expensive." André asked, trying not to pry too much.
"I have a trust fund from my parents. I'm gonna parents are letting me get half of it now, and then the other half when I turn 18." Jade answered.
"How much is the trust fund?" Tori asked.
"About 5 million dollars." Jade said, as if it were no big deal.
"5 million dollars!?" Tori and André exclaimed in unison.
"Yeah. That was my reaction too when she first told me. Apparently her family's kinda rich." Beck said.
"It's not that big of a deal."
"But it is. You're grandparents are billionaires."
"They were billionaires. They're both dead now. My grandpa died a couple years ago from a heart attack."
"Either way, your family has a lot of money and you never told me about it."
"Oh, like how you didn't tell me you were born in Canada?" Jade asked, her voice getting louder.
"Being a billionaire and being born in Canada are two very different things." Beck countered, his volume matching Jade's. Everyone else in the RV was getting noticeably more uncomfortable as the couple started fighting.
"I'm not a billionaire, Beck. My uncle is. An uncle who I barely ever see. It's really not that big of a deal."
"It is a big deal, Jade. Shouldn't you have told me we might be billionaires one day and that our child might inherit a multi billion dollar company?"
"Not we, Beck, me. I could inherit the company if I really wanted to. I already told you that I don't know if I want to."
"What do you mean not we? We're having a child together."
"That doesn't mean we'll stay together."
"Is there something you want to tell me?"
"No, I'm just saying, just because we're having a kid doesn't mean we'll stay together. A kid can do bad things to a relationship. We might not stay together."
"Don't you want to stay together?"
"I don't know, Beck. I really don't. I know that I love you and I love our baby and I want to raise our baby together, but I can't promise you I'll feel the same way once our baby's born."
"If you really feel that way, then maybe we should just break up now. You know, so there's not a kid involved."
"What?" Jade asked, sounding more broken and hurt than Beck had ever heard her sound.
At this point, Robbie was hiding himself under a nearby blanket, and Tori and André were trying to get Cat to calm down so she wouldn't pass out.
"I'm being serious. If you really aren't sure of where we're gonna be in 6 months, then maybe we should just end this now before we end up going through an ugly custody battle with a newborn."
Suddenly, all of Jade's hurt and disappointment turned into anger and resentment.
"Fine. I'll pick up my stuff tomorrow." She said, in a terrifyingly clam, low voice. She did that sometimes when she was mad. It honestly scared Beck more than her yelling.
Jade stormed out of the RV and drove off in a hurry to get far away from him.
After Jade was gone, Beck finally realized that their friends were all still there. Beck sighed before addressing them again.
"Well, obviously that wasn't how we planned to tell you about all of this. I'm sorry about that."
"No, we're sorry, Beck. It really sucks that your baby's gonna have two single parents now." André said.
"Yeah, it does. Look, I'll see you all at school on Monday. I think for now, it would all be better if you guys went home. Please."
The 4 teens definitely didn't need to be told twice. Before Beck knew it, he was all alone in his trailer.
