That night she dreamt of her dancing with Jareth under the willow tree they sat under. Him holding her close and whispering sweet nothings. It went on like that for a while until she gazed up into his eyes and leaned in close to her. Closer and closer until their lips were millimeters apart from each other, all she had to do was just tilt her head up….
"Sarah! I'm headed out to go see Salvador. I'll be back in four months time! Be safe, and don't do anything I wouldn't do. Which isn't a lot might I add." Aribelle shouted from across the apartment. Sarah heard the door slam and she groaned. Aribelle couldn't have waited to wake her for just five more minutes. She looked at the clock and saw a crystal laying next to it. She snatched up the sphere and it turned into a peach with a note attached to it.
Good morning precious. If you want to dance with me, all you have to do is ask. Be ready by 7pm. I'm taking you out. Just call into the crystal to transport to me. Wear a dress that you can move around in. For now though, here's your peach as promised. It won't throw you into a masquerade ball. I promise. See you tonight.
Sarah bit into the peach and studied the note more and more. How did he know she dreamt of them dancing? Did he do this? Was it the fruit she ate? No it couldn't be. She ate the fruit he gave her this morning. Did he control and hop into her dream? Sarah was pacing around her bedroom trying to find a possible solution. "Jareth, I need you" She whispered into the ring. When she looked up she saw a puff of glitter and a man in her bedroom wearing nothing but a pair of gray sweatpants. "How did you know about my dream? What all do you know? What did you see?" Sarah had to look away from his toned chest before she had the urge to run her hands over his taut stomach.
"Well good morning to you too." He chuckled and stretched out with a groan. "Sarah, my title as Goblin King doesn't mean I only take care of goblins. I also watch over everyone's dreams. Especially the dreams that involve me and a delicious specimen by the name of Sarah Williams." Jareth saw Sarah's face fall and immediately regretted his teasing. "I am very sorry I invaded your privacy. I was thrown into the dream I didn't mean to. I was sleeping too. I promise it was not my doing consciously."
Sarah looked up at Jareth and saw the empathy in his face. He really did feel bad. "I forgive you, but no more invading my dreams!" Sarah leaned into Jareth and hugged him breathing in his scent. He smelt like sage and cedarwood, absolutely delicious. "Since you're here now, want some breakfast on my terrace? Aribelle my roommate left for Italy to go see her soulmate Salvador. It will be just us."
"I'd love that, you lead the way." Jareth opened the bedroom door for Sarah and she trailed ahead of him into the kitchen. She peered into the fridge and started listing off what she had to eat. Jareth was watching her intensely while she was bent over. He started to feel his sweatpants tighten and sat down at the table to hide himself.
"What about eggs benedict with a side of hash browns with peppers?" Sarah grabbed the supplies and put them on the counter to start prepping the food.
"Sounds good to me. Do you need any help?" His libido was screaming for him to take her right there. She looked so beautiful in a baggy tee shirt and boy shorts. He thought about how she would be much better than the eggs she was making.
"No, but if you wouldn't mind taking these plates on the foyer outside to set the table, that would be great!" Sarah climbed the counter to reach the top of the cupboard to grab the plates and bowls. She went to adjust her footing and dropped all the plates. She nearly fell over the counter into the pile but Jareth caught her in the nick of time.
"Sarah are you okay? You aren't hurt are you?" Jareth lightly set her back down and went to start picking up the shards of glass with her.
"Damnit, those were from my grandmother! I made such a mess. I'm sorry Jareth."
"Here you know what, I can fix all of this." He dropped a crystal into the pile of glass and the plates fixed themselves and were set on the counter as if nothing happened.
Sarah thanked him and resumed her cooking while he set the table. When the table was set, Jareth leaned against the counter watching Sarah finish up the hollandaise sauce. She dipped her finger in the sauce, licked it, cringed, and added more seasoning. When she dipped her finger in again to lick it, Jareth grabbed her hand and looked into her eyes.
"Uhm, Jar.. what are you doing?" Sarah shivered and stared at him with her mouth wide open.
"Tasting the sauce." With that, Jareth sucked on her finger while his piercing gaze burned through her. Sarah's jaw dropped while Jareth moaned and let his eyes roll to the back of his head. "Sarah, that is delicious. You have a gift. Are you sure you don't want to switch to a culinary chef for your career?" Jareth took out the food onto the terrace and motioned for her to sit next to him. Sarah was shocked that he acted like nothing happened back here. She thought about bringing it up but decided against it. Ignorance is bliss right?
They sat and ate looking at the view of the city comparing colors again and playing ISpy to make a game out of it. Until…
"Sarah what building is this?" Jareth got up to look around the area and turned to face her.
"Paristay apartments, why?"
"Precious believe me when I tell you I had nothing to do with this." Jareth held his hands up in an 'dont hurt me, remain calm' pose
"Jar. What. Did. You. Do." Sarah put her plate down and stood up her hands balled into fists by her sides.
