Chapter Nineteen: Making Lemonade
Hey guys, I apologize for the delayed chapter but I've been busy. Oh yes and for those of you who haven't already noticed, I decided to change the other category into drama since even though there IS romance in here,.. there's more drama and fantasy than anything else. Oh yeah, and did anybody get my mirror of Erised references in the past couple of chapters? ;)
Once The Dragons had finished practicing Aaron decided to go visit Carly down at the hospital wing to go check on her and see if she had come out of her coma yet. He decided to stay inside his costume so that when he laid down with her his boxers wouldn't show.
"How is she?" Aaron questioned as he entered the room, but the nurse just simply heaved a sad sigh and shook her head
"She's still out cold, at this point I'm not even sure if she's going to wake up."
"She will wake up!" Aaron cried while withdrawing his wand and pointing it at her when all of a sudden Rickie quickly raced inside.
"Come on Aaron, don't do anything stupid otherwise Bailey will be rolling her eyes at you from above and you can make no mistake about that!" He exclaimed. "Besides, the boys and I need to see you outside immediately, it's important." He told him.
"Well alright, but then I'm coming back in here to be with Carly." Aaron told him before storing away his wand and hurried after Rickie towards the front of the castle, and what he saw made his mouth fall wide open as actual dragons were arriving and being placed in cages along with lions and tigers and a bunch of other exotic cats.
"What the devil is going on!?" Aaron hollered as Justin heaved a sad sigh and then slowly turned his head over to look at him.
"It's part of the Halloween tournament this year." He replied.
"What are you talking about!? What tournament!?" Aaron cried.
"The care of magical creatures class wants to find out if dragons are the meanest and fiercest animal on earth,.. so they're going to have them fight each other." Justin explained while lions roared, tigers growled, and dragons blew a jet of fire out of their breath's.
"What!? No! We have to go tell Professor Dumbledore and put a stop to this immediately! He couldn't possibly know about this as this is completely barbaric!" Aaron cried.
"Listen Aaron, I know you're upset about this and believe me I am too." Rickie began. "But I highly doubt that there's going to be much that Dumbledore can do in this situation as they want to have some kind of entertainment for Halloween this year." He told him.
"They want entertainment!? Fine we can give them entertainment as that's our jobs now." Aaron began. "And I know exactly what we need to do as well." He finished before he turned back around and ran back inside the castle.
"Now what is that boy up to?" Derek wondered aloud but Rickie just simply shrugged at him.
"Who knows? When Aaron Parker's involved anything, and I do mean anything goes." He told him. "Come on guys let's go." He told them before the three other boys hurried inside as well.
…
Aaron continued pacing the floor of the Gryffindor common room. "Come on Aaron, you gotta think! You can't let this happen!" He told himself before he slowly walked towards the window and sighed at the beautiful creatures that were about to destroy each other and then he grabbed his piece of parchment and quill and sat down on top of the couch in front of the fireplace and began to write down his own independent and original song.
That's when suddenly a few moments later Carly walked through the portrait hole and Aaron slowly glanced up at her before placing his supplies down on top of the coffee table and rushing towards her. "Carly! Thank God you're alright." He told her while tightly embracing her before placing a tender hand to her cheek and placed a few quick and tender kisses on her lips which she returned.
"Yes I am, but where's Bailey?" She asked him while starting to turn her head and look around for her as Aaron's face fell. "I thought that she would be up here with you." She added.
"Nobody's told you yet?" He questioned her.
"Aaron, what are you talking about?" She questioned him back anxiously.
"Bailey's dead Carly. She was killed by_ by a monster." He told her before he slowly turned back around to face away from her and look out the window.
"Oh Aaron, I'm so sorry. That must be incredibly hard for you. I can't even begin to imagine what you must be going through right now." She told him while placing a comforting hand on his shoulder and kissing him on the cheek.
"You have no idea." He replied and as she turned around she noticed all the chaos that was happening outside.
"What's going on down there with all of the animals?" She asked him.
"You don't want to know." He replied as he walked back over to the couch and sat down before he continued to write.
"Yeah, you're probably right." She began before going to join him. "But I do want to know what you're writing." She finished.
"It's a song about how wild animals will always stay wild at heart. If the students here at a school want an amazing and shocking performance out of dragons,.. then that's exactly what we're going to give them." He said as Carly grinned at him.
"That's clever but I really don't think that's what they had in mind." She told him.
"Well it's like that old muggle saying goes, when life gives you lemons you make lemonade." He told her as he smiled lovingly at her while she rested her head on top of his shoulder, and he planted a soft kiss on top of it before he finished writing his song.
