CHAPTER 3

Harry sat up, hearing the sound of gunfire in the nightclub. He felt Aria and Hermione sit up on either side of him. He hopped up from the bed, throwing some clothes on, and rushed outside. He saw a group of Krogan that he identified as members of the Blood Pack swarming through the door. Harry growled, angry that he had to deal with these idiots. He threw his hand forward, flames gushing from his outstretched palm. The wandless fiendfyre ripped into the Krogan, several of them dying on impact. Harry pulled back, taking control of the dark flames, and wielding them like a whip. Harry lashed out, killing 3 of the kroga that had dodged the flames. He swung towards the others, growling as he felt a bullet enter his shoulder. He threw a barrier up, sending the incoming projectiles back at the mercenaries. Harry cursed when he saw several Krogan lob incendiary grenades at him. Harry dodged, letting them hit something behind him.

Harry heard Aria shout in rage, and looked back, seeing the newly drafted ship plans from yesterday in flames. Harry turned to the Krogan, finally done with the mercenaries. Harry conjured a magically-reinforced minigun. He shifted the bullets to incendiary rounds, getting an idea. Harry got up, disillusioning himself, and making his way to the other side of the night club. Harry got onto one of the tables, before dropping the charm, appearing in the visual spectrum. The Krogan jumped back in surprise, before beginning to fire at him. Harry let the bullets hit his chest, remaining standing as his blood splattered all over the wall behind him. He merely gave a grim smirk, as the Vorcha that were running in after the Krogan stopped in their tracks. One of the Krogan threw an incendiary grenade that had a sticky resin coating it at him.

Harry grimaced, the explosion following the detonation sending bits of bone and internal organ everywhere. He stood up, wallking towards the mercenaries, who were all in the club by now, staring at him in horror. Harry sealed the doors shut, metal flowing over them to block them off after he gave a quick wave of his hand. Harry pulled out his minigun, pointing it at he group. "Give Death my regards." He said simply, before unleashing the entire payload of his magically enhanced weapon into the group. He had never been more grateful that he had studied muggle weapons in detail during the Horcrux hunt as a way to beat Voldemort. Harry jumped down, his skin slowly knitting back together, as the wounds on his face shrank. He was already looking lke he merely lost a brawl, not took a few guns and a grenade to the chest.

Harry advanced, even the Krogan beginning to back up as they began to realize just how powerful their opponent was. Harry suddenly exploded in a conflagration of epic proportions., as the mercs shielded their faces and hands. When the fire finished spreading outward, the mage was gone. There was a sudden crack, as one of the krogan's head was twisted backwards and the now dead body fell forward with the crash of armour hitting metal flooring. As his comrades turned towards the noise, another Krogan fell on the other side of the group. the remaining mercs clustered together, but were quickly taken care of when all of their grenades went off simultaneously.

Harry faded into view on the other side of the room, another copy of Harry appearing next to him. The second Harry faded away, as the first lowered his wand. He no longer needed to maintain the illusion that he was invincible now, and shut down the apparition. Harry went up to where Aria and Hermione were, intending to check up on them.

"So was there any evidence of where these guys came from? I highly doubt that if someone where to kill you, they would attempt to take the credit and would want to be known. Anything here that would identify these guys?" Hermione said inquisitively.

"The tactics of these merc remind me of the Blood Pack but the armor definitely isn't them. Lets look around and see if anything on their bodies can help us figure out who wanted me dead." Aria stated, as the trio began to scavenge armor and weapons from the corpses. Harry eventually found note bearing a message and a strange symbol. "Hey Hermione, Aria, I think I found something. The two women walked over to the green-eyed mage, Hermione fingering the trigger of a modified Carnifax Handcannon, and Aria holding a list of several storehouses she had learned of after searching through the pockets of one of the more heavily armored Krogan.

"It mentions a large sum of money that will go to whoever can bring Aria T'Loak's head to a man named Maero La'vie. It also has a symbol embossed into the metal of the datapad. It is a sort of black and orange eliptical hexagon." Harry said, handing the datapad over to Aria. The asari got a puzzled look on her face, before cursing. "It's Cerberus! That god damned organization better have a good reason to be sending random mercs and criminals after me!"

Hermione asked the question on both of the humans minds, albeit waiting until their mutual lover had stopped ranting.

"So who exactly is Cerberus anyway?" Hermione asked, bewildered at the sudden break in the normally calm Asari's public facade. Aria turned toward her, face grim, before saying, "They're a group of human extremists that will go to any lengths to see that humanity become the most technologically advanced species and therefore the one that makes all the decisions and has all the power. They area group of people that will stop at nothing to achieve their ends, even if that means the end of any other sentient species that can pose a threat to humanity."

Harry suddenly remembered something, and rushed to the balcony, swearing when he realized that their plans for the ship they had wanted to build were trashed. After he broke the new of the fate of their plans to the two women, they all retired to bed, planning to continue where they had left off earlier, before worrying about the ship plans at the moment.

-TIME-SHIFT-ONE-WEEK-LATER-

Harry and Hermione lounged around in Aria's nightclub, just sitting in the corner of the room and observing the whole sea of people. Throughout the past week, they had been trying to gather enough weapons and ammo to trade to the Shadow Broker in exchange for a secure ship to Earth, where they wanted to look for some of the magical world. They had almost 10 crates of weapons, each crate containing about 25 weapons, but needed 12 to appease the Shadow Broker. Harry had thought that they could scope out some of the bigger mercs while waiting for Aria's contact to arrive at the club.

"Ugh, I'm so tired of waiting for this person. We should be out there researching some of the mercs strategies, tactics, and overall styles, before simply stealing it all out from under their noses." Hermione grumbled. She knew that wouldn't work though. 'After all, all of the big players on Omega are more cautious than usual, what with the Blue Suns losing 3 crates of weapons, the Blood Pack losing 5, and the Eclipse losing one and a half, the other half being blown up by a stray grenade. They couldn't just take it and run. They all knew that something was after their guns.

Harry nudged her arm, nodding his head towards where Aria sat above the nightclub, where a scarred turian who looked like he had been through hell and back, twice, was approaching them. "Reminds you a bit of Moody, huh?" Harry whispered, as they heard Luna giggling while talking about how the scarring could be from a nargle attack, or perhaps a heliopath's touch (Luna being Luna, in other words). The brunette calmed down, shushing the vibrant blonde, as the Turian got within hearing distance.

The Turian gave Hermione an odd look, seeing as how he could tell the brunette was having a hard time keeping from laughing. The Turian just shook his head, before continuing forward, grumbling about crazy humans. He finally reached the duo's table, still questioning the sanity of the woman in front of him.

"I was told by a mutual friend that you two would be willing to help me deal with a problem? I assure you that I can pay you well." He began, before turning to the dark haired man, who seemed to be the more respectable of the two at the moment. Harry stared into the eyes of the man in front of him, before nodding. 'So apparently, the guy is having troubles with mercs who have taken over his weapons depot for illegal import and weapon mods. He thinks that we will want to help him for little money, seeing as how he is apparently someone important on Omega. Well tough for him I now know just how much money he makes on these deals, and he isn't getting away cheap.' Harry though, whilst the oblivious Turian explained the exact situation Harry had gleamed with legilimency.

Harry finally began to listen again, catching the last part of the explanation. "I want 3,500 credits, 5 weapon mods from your personal cache, and your smallest concealed weapon that is also silent. Oh, and don't bother trying to trick me, because I will know and you will regret it." Harry said, a dangerous gleam in his eye. The turian, who had introduced himself as Villaestrus Kyril, gaped, before opening his mouth to argue. "That is outrageous! I am not paying you 3,500 credits, along with some of my stock!"

Harry glared at the Turian, before turning to Hermione. "Seeing as how the guy in front of us has refused my terms, you have any ideas?" he asked. Hermione got a contemplative look on her face, before going with what Luna wanted them to say. "We could always feed him to a whale after dismembering him until there isn't enough of him left to fit into a bucket, while also stealing all his money, property, and anything else valuable before we finally kill him. Oh, and don't forget about the slowly dying painfully bit, that parts my favorite." She said, faking a dreamy look.

The Turian looked horrified, before stuttering, "I-I'll get you the money right away! And you can look at the mods and weapons after t-he warehouse is cleared out, since all my stuff is in th-there."

Harry grinned, realizing that Hermione was quite the actor when she wanted to be, while silently vowing never to piss Luna off. It seems that people still respond to intimidation tactics, no matter the species.

-TIME-SKIP-TWO-DAYS-LATER-

Harry glanced through the binoculars that hung off of his neck, observing the Vorcha below complaining about something. Harry turned to Hermione, who was walking towards him, smirking. "All the traps are set up. They won't know what hit 'em." She said with a touch of arrogance in her voice. He smiled at her, hitting a switch on the side of the binoculars, causing them to display the heat signuratures of the Vorcha. He nodded, seeing the heat of the bombs emplaced a few yards ahead of the approaching mercenaries.

He apparated away, appearing with a near silent pop on the other side of the warehouse. He used the edge of the binoculars to cause a glare, sending a signal to Hermione. He heard the confirmation from her, grinning when the Vorcha began to look around after hearing the sound of sharp metal scraping together. Suddenly the Vorcha exploded into a ball of fire, the onflagration utterly decimating them in under thirty seconds. Harry jumped off of the ledge he was sitting on, landing onto the shoulders of the krogan that was turning toward the explosion. With a whispered reducto the Krogan's head exploded into a fine red mist, silently ending the threat he posed to Harry.

Hermione apparated next to him, taking stock of the situation, as more Vorcha and a few Batarians ran towards the burned up bodies of their comrades. Harry rushed out from behind a box, throwing his hand out towards the group. They all began to lift their weapons toward him, but weren;t fast enough as he summoned all of their huns, pulling them to his right, while Hermione apparated behind them, throwing bone-breakers and cutting curses at their backs. The group was quickly dispatched amidst the confusion, while Hermione threw up wards around the warehouse, ensuring that no more mercenaries would bother them at the moment. Harry pulled out his trunk, enlarging it with but a thought as he summoned the salvagable weapons and ammo. He also summoned the credit chits form the lifeless mercenaries' pockets, mentally calculating how much they had gotten. 'Hmm, based upon what I got from Aria's mind, a few hundred credits isn't too bad.' he thought.

He shrank the trunk again, joining Hermione in securing the rest of the warehouse with wards and traps. He also looked through the crates around them, and grinned after ifnding a few crates full of explosives, along with a few smaller crates of thermal clips. He shrank all of them, pocketing the now snowglobe sized crates, as he finally felt the last of the wards go up around the warehouse. Harry walked over to Hermione, lightly touching her shoulder. "So... You wanna raid any other part of this warehouse for our own, or just return to the Turian?"

"Hmmm... Why don't we just look through the warehouse and if we find anything good, we can just claim that the Vorcha sold it, while we walk away with it instead." She said, looking for any hint of disapproval in Harry's face. She had been thinking recently, about their situation. She hadn't noticed at first, but she and Harry were much more bloodthirsty and dismissive to the world, or rather, galaxy, as of late. She had at first just shrugged it off, but now she wasn't so sure. Something had happened to them, but what it was, she couldn't place. SHe shook her head, planning to think more on it later, and just barely managed to catch an affirmative answer from Harry, before they began to walk around the warehouse.

She managed to find a decently sized crate full of grael spike-throwers, along with their ammo, soon enough. She also found a few smaller crates of incendiary grenades and a few incendiary weapon mods in a pile of unsorted gear that looked like an explosion waiting to happen. This was as far as she got before she head Harry calling her name. She jogged over to where she could hear him, and saw red for a few moments. There was a pair of young asari laying in cages, the signs of gang-rape obvious based upon the torn clothing, blood, and tear tracks that she could see had clid through the grime on one of their faces. Harry walked up to her, looking sick, and pulled her away so they were out of view of the cages.

"I don't think that a man is the best thing for them to see right now. Why don't you deal with this, where did you leave off?" He said, anger clearly evident by the way he was shaking. Hermione wasn't much better, but agreed, and voiced as much. "I left off over near where there is a pile of junk heaped up in the southwest corner fo the warehouse. I'll see what I can do about these two. Can you call Aria and have her send one or two female doctors? I would prefer professional help if they are injured."

Harry nodded, walking to where Hermione had directed him. He lifted his arm up, placing his hands onto the side of his head, the tips of his index and middle fingers touching his temples. 'Aria? Can you hear me? He said, imagining his consciousness opening up the door that seperated his mind and Aria's mindscape. He felt a slight pressure, before it stopped, and he saw the exotic woman appear beside him. He looked at the confusion on her face, and chuckled. "Right now we are in your mindscape. It's possible to travel to someone else's mindscape if you have the skill in the mind arts, or a direct connection. We have the privelege to have the latter. Now, you know that job me and Hermione got clearing out that warehouse?" He said after explaining what was going on.

"Oh yah, you guys are clearing out a warehouse some mercenaries took over, and the owner, Villaestrus Kyril, doesn't want to hire other mercenaries to clear them out. Did something happen?" She said, looking slightly worried.

"I found a pair of asari that look to of been gang-raped, and we were wondering if you had any doctors you could send to help, preferably female. Hermione is watching them right now." Harry explained.

Aria nodded, "I can send some people down there. which warehouse is it?"

"It's warehouse 23 I believe."

"I'll send them now."

Harry smiled, giving her a quick peck on the lips, as all faded to black, the two re-entering their own bodies. He took a turn down an aisle in the warehouse, keeping his eye out for anything useful, whilst humming a tune he remembered hearing on the radio once at the Dursleys.
