Chapter Twenty: Spending The Night
The next morning Aaron woke up, used the restroom, and put on his Gryffindor robes before he joined Carly down at the breakfast table. "It sure seems quiet around here without Bailey." She said before Aaron just simply heaved a sad sigh.
"Yeah, I know." He replied before both of them turned their heads and looked at the empty spot at the table where Bailey usually sat and then they both sighed before turning back to look at each other.
"So, when are you going to go to Professor Dumbledore with your idea?" Carly wondered.
"This afternoon right before lunch. If I'm late or miss any of my classes, there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that Bailey's spirit is going to come back and haunt me." He told her with a grin as Carly giggled.
"Well, at least you're able to start joking around again." She said as Brittney started making her way over towards their table.
"I wouldn't make him mad if I were you, unless you want to wind up like Bailey and that really isn't any laughing matter." She told her as Carly just simply rolled her eyes at her but Aaron on the other hand started looking a little bit nervous.
"First of all Brittney this is supposed to be a private conversation between me and my boyfriend, and second of all what in the world are you talking about?" She questioned while Brittney sat down beside her.
"You mean he hasn't told you what really happened to her? The whole entire school's been talking about it. He killed her himself when he was inside his werewolf form." She told her as Aaron glared at her and Carly gasped a little bit but then furrowed her eyebrows at her as well.
"So what if he did!? How in the wizarding world would that be his fault!?" She cried but Aaron had already gotten to his feet and was walking away from the table. "Aaron wait!" She called over to him before getting up and running after him and took him by the hand. "Aaron, look at me. Brittney's just a bitch and I don't believe for one second that it's your fault that Bailey died as I don't blame you a bit." She told him as he slowly turned his head back over to look at her.
"I love you." She said for the first time since they had been going out together. "And I know that you have a good heart and would have never hurt Bailey on purpose." She told him as he smiled over at her and kissed her on the cheek.
"Thanks Carly, I needed that, and I love you too. I'll see you later alright?" He questioned before he continued on his way and Carly smiled at him while she watched him leave as she felt extremely happy that they confessed their love towards each other for the first time.
….
"Can I help you Aaron?" Dumbledore questioned him once he had answered the door.
"I hope so." Aaron began while Dumbledore just simply stepped aside and allowed him entry inside his office. "You see it's about the dragon fight, I find it rather cruel and so do the rest of The Dragons,.." He said as Dumbledore quickly shut the door once he had made it inside. "and this time I'm talking about the singing group and not the animals." He explained.
"It's alright Aaron, I'm perfectly aware of what you're talking about." Dumbledore told him.
"Well anyways,.. instead of having a dragon fight at Halloween, what about having a Dragon performance?" Aaron questioned him with a rather sly grin.
"Well Aaron, it just so happens that I absolutely one hundred percent agree with you and I assure you that I had no idea that this event was planning on taking place. I just assumed it was a traveling zoo and thank you very much for telling me. Be sure to tell your friends to start getting ready for the first ever Dragon concert." Dumbledore told him with a grin and a wink and Aaron could barely contain his excitement.
"Thank you sir! I'll go tell the other boys right away and you won't regret it I swear!" Aaron promised him while Dumbledore let out a chuckle as Aaron left his office in a hurry.
….
Aaron heaved a sad sigh as he stood out by the Black Lake and breathed in the fresh air while a gentle breeze blew through his hair. "Well Bailey, The Dragons are about to get their first shot at superstardom. I sure hope that you would have been proud of us." He said while completely unaware that Carly was coming up from behind him.
"I'm sure she would have been. She said it herself, she was your biggest fan." She told him as he quickly turned around and smiled at her.
"Well, at least I know that I will always have your support." He told her before planting a quick and tender kiss on her cheek. "I guess the only thing left is to start writing some new material." He began. "Cause this is going to be the spookiest and scariest howling Halloween party that Hogwarts has ever seen." He told her with complete and utter confidence as she simply just grinned at him.
"I sure it will be. Just promise not to forget about me once you're all rich and famous." She told him before he took her by the hand and gazed deeply into her eyes while his smile glistened.
"Trust me, there's no chance of that ever happening." He whispered inside her ear before she returned the gaze into his eyes and they both wrapped their arms around each other's necks and started kissing each other passionately.
The next morning that Aaron awoke he found to his complete and utter astonishment that Carly was in his bed with him all snuggled up against his chest with her lying upon it. He had remembered that they had gone to lie down together, but he never realized that they had fallen asleep together. He smiled rather warmly and lovingly down at her before pressing a kiss to her forehead and then drifting back to sleep himself as he rested his chin down on top of her head.
