They got dressed around lunch time and went on a bike ride to the countryside. They wandered around the meadows, playing in the creeks, and just enjoyed each other's company. They kissed under a bridge, made love in an abandoned barn, and zoomed by the farms on the motorcycle. Jareth even let Sarah help him steer the bike. She sat in front of him and his hands covered hers on the handlebars. Sarah had the time of her life. She loved this. She loved him. When they got back to the city, she immediately started working on the project he assigned her. It was due in two weeks and she needed to get cracking on it.
"What are you doing, love?" Jareth tried to peek at what she was writing but when he tried, she clutched the notebook close to her chest.
"The project my gorgeous professor assigned me. You can't read it." Sarah grinned up at him.
"Should I be worried about this gorgeous professor? Should I bog him?" Jareth leaned in close to her licking his lips.
"Worried? No. Bog him? Most definitely. I'd love to see the hair he spends so much time trying to perfect get ruined." Sarah teased.
"You minx." He kissed her and tickled her sides lightly.
"Jareth! Go away! I'm trying to do my assignment while I have it in my head!" Sarah was laughing uncontrollably trying to push him away lightly.
Jareth reluctantly let her go and sat across from her in his recliner, legs dangled over the side of the chair.
"Fine. I might as well go and catch up on grading class tests." Jareth focused on his paperwork while Sarah did her poem.
The next couple weeks went by just like did their work together in a comfortable silence. They made love as often as they could, they spent every waking moment in each other's arms when they weren't at the university. Sarah's assignments were all finished and all that was left was to turn them in and graduate. She emailed Aribelle about moving in with Jareth and Aribelle was so excited for her. Aribelle dropped out of college and moved to Italy with her soulmate. Sarah had a job lined up to be a librarian and tutor at the university to help Americans learn french like her. She was so excited and Jareth was extremely proud of her. Sarah's parents were flying in the day before graduation to be there for the ceremony. She was giddy with anticipation and couldn't wait. Today was the day to turn in her project to Jareth and she was more nervous about his reaction to it than her grade. She knew she would pass, she worked hard on it, she just didn't know how Jareth would feel about it.
He drove them to the cafe off campus, got them both a cup of coffee, and they walked together on campus. He didn't want her walking alone anymore, and she liked his company. No one suspected a thing, if anyone asked, they'd say that it was a coincidence and Sarah needed help with something in his class.
"I'll see you later, Precious. Should you need me.."
"I'll call." Sarah responded.
They parted ways and went on to do their day. Sarah could hardly pay attention. She was so nervous to turn it in. At least she didn't have to read it out loud, right? The first few hours ticked by painstakingly slow and she was getting impatient.
"I wish the hours went by faster until French Language 13." Sarah whispered. In the blink of an eye, the day sped by until she found herself in front of the building to Jareth's class. Sarah took a deep breath and trudged on. "Come on feet." She said to herself.
Sarah took a seat in her usual spot, and waited 'til Jareth walked in and class began. When he walked in, he winked at her for a split second and began the lesson. Once there was a half hour left of the class, he stopped the final lesson.
"Guys, it's been a pleasure being your professor. I'm extremely proud of all of you and I can't wait to see how far you go in life. Now, for your final assignment, you will be reading them out loud to the class one by one. I will start with the back of the room and work my way forward. Once you have read your poem, you may leave and enjoy the rest of your day." Jareth announced to the class. He sat at his desk in the front of his room and listened to the other students read their works. Some were beautiful, some were half assed, and others had no emotion in them. One by one they trailed out until there was one left. Sarah. Jareth waited until the last student left before he locked the door and approached her.
"Sarah, it's your turn, love." Jareth whispered to her.
