Sarah cleared her throat and began to speak. She refused to look him in the eye as she spoke.
In my mind, everything goes wild.
I lose myself in your eyes.
I drown myself in the vagueness of your loving gaze.
I want only your soul going wild on my skin.
A flower, a woman in your heart Romeo.
I am merely your name, the tormenting breath
Of our bodies in the dark, slowly moving.
And at night I cry tears that stream down my cheeks.
I think of you only when the days ends, only when my sad demons descend upon my mind, into the bottomless abyss.
Love me until the roses wither,
that our souls sink into deep tears.
And at night when all is dark, I watch you dance.
I ring out in kisses all down your chest.
Lost in the avalanche of my heart astray.
Who are you? Where are you?
By the cries, by the laughs of your startled shadow.
I ring out in kisses.
In my mind, everything goes wild.
I lose myself in your eyes.
I drown myself in the vagueness of your loving gaze.
I want only your soul going wild on my skin.
A flower, a woman in your heart Romeo.
I follow only your name, the tormenting breath
Of our bodies in the dark, slowly moving.
And at night when all is dark, I watch you dance.
Sarah was shaking by the time she finished reading it. She refused to look into his gaze. Here she was confessing her love in the only way she knew how, and she was terrified of his reaction. She was holding back tears and clenching her fists so hard they were white.
"May I be excused, Monsieur Altesse?"
"No. We need to talk." Jareth whispered. He snapped his fingers creating a barrier and around them and stopped time so they wouldn't be disturbed while they talk.
"Jareth. Please." Sarah whispered.
"Sarah, do you remember when you said 'I have no power over you' to me?"
Sarah nodded her head and bit her lip.
"Do you know how much anguish you caused me?" Jareth started pacing around her, juggling crystals in the palm of his hand.
"I can only imagine." Her voice started to shake, she was terrified. He was going to deny her, break her heart like she did all those years ago to him.
"Sarah, did you just confess to me that you love me?" Jareth stood in front of her and tilted her chin up to look at him. His face revealed no emotion; it was a blank slate.
"Yes." Sarah whispered. Her eyes started to well up and tears started to stream down her face. She tried to look away, but his piercing blue eyes held her there. She wanted to hide. Sarah felt foolish to even think he could want to want her. She felt dumb for even confessing her feelings. The past few months have been the best of her life, she was floating on a cloud until now. All of her dreams went crashing down. She wasn't even mad at him no matter how much she wanted to be. She couldn't be mad at him because she was irrevocably and passionately in love with him.
"Sarah Williams, you are stubborn, you have a vicious attitude, you can be cruel, just as I can be so cruel. You are far from normal, and you always have your head in the clouds..." Jareth started to talk until Sarah interrupted him.
"Yes, I get it. I'm not what you want. You don't have to drag this on. Just drop me and go away, please!" Sarah was crying while she screamed at him. Her heart shattered, she wanted to crawl in a hole and never come out. This wasn't what she expected. For months he was so amazing and so sweet. She thought he loved her but she was wrong. She went to take off the ring he gave her until his hand covered hers.
"I wasn't finished. Not everything is what it appears to be. Don't take things for granted. As I was saying, you never stop dreaming, and Sarah? Those are some of the many things I love about you. You have caused me so much anguish and heartache, but you've also given me endless amounts of joy. I may have no power over you, but you have all the power over me. You have stolen my heart, made my wishes and dreams come true, and have made me the happiest man in Aboveground and Underground. I could never walk away, I could never leave you. I promise to be yours until the world falls down." Jareth went down on one knee and Sarah was crying even harder. "Precious, please do me the honor of becoming my wife, give me your heart as I've given you mine and I will be your slave. I don't want you to fear me, I don't want to rule you either. All I want from you is to love me as much as I love you." Jareth turned another crystal into a beautiful engagement ring. It was a small crystal ball, set into a bed of silver flower petals creating a beautiful floral ring.
Sarah was bawling now, her eyes red and her face puffy. All she could do was nod yes and fall into Jareth's arms. Jareth held her close and kissed her tears away. Jareth was whispering many I love you's into her ears and he wasn't letting her out of his arms until she stopped crying.
"I love you." Sarah whispered back and kissed him passionately. She tried to show him how much she loved him in that kiss. She kissed him until she was dizzy and kissed him some more.
They made love all night that night in their flat. Jareth took his time worshiping his new fiance and Sarah gave him as much fire and passion that she could muster. They both cried many times together, their tears meshing together while they kissed. The lovers were so incredibly happy together.
"Together forever?" Sarah whispered in Jareth's ear.
"Forever." Jareth responded.
That wasn't long at all but they didn't mind.
Sarah graduated and Jareth kissed her as soon as the ceremony ended. Her parents were shocked and so was everyone else there but who can deny soulmates? After a week of Sarah starting her job, Jareth and Sarah bought a house together in the heart of Paris.. They lived Aboveground on weekdays and Underground on weekends in the Castle Beyond the Goblin City.. All of Sarah's friends were ecstatic that she was back for good and they threw a celebration that lasted 13 hours. Within a month's time, Jareth and Sarah were happily married. Sarah took the title as Goblin Queen and she became a fae changeling thus making her immortal with her lover. They lived extremely happy lives and were together forever, which is not long at all.
The End.
so this took me a while to write and it also took a lot of courage for me to write and post this. the poem is actually a song called Amour Plastique WHICH I HAVE NO RIGHTS TO! I got inspiration of this fic from little tid bits I've seen online. I have no rights to The Labyrinth or anything like that. I only own my imagination. But if someone would send me Jareth on a silver platter on my doorstep, I'll be pretty happy.
Please be nice if you review, this took a lot of courage for me. Thanks!
