Chapter 7.5: Orintation

As the final touch for Lucy's morning routine, she puts her hair in a side ponytail that reaches the length of her waist. Class is about to start, and merely thinking about it makes her heart rapidly speed up.

Noticing the time, Lucy walks out of the bathroom and over to Natsu and Happy's temporary bedroom. She knocks at first to be polite but when she hears no answer, she opens the door slightly to investigate.

What she does indeed find are her partners sleeping. Marching over to the Dragon Slayer and the exceed she advised while rubbing her temples. "You guys need to get up or we're going to be late."

No response other than snores. To put things in her own hands, she decided shaking them would work better.

Much to her surprise, she was lifted off the floor and on top of Natsu on the bed by his hands holding her ever so gracefully by her forearms. Happy had then flown over to Lucy and marked her back as his resting place with her neck as his pillow, snuggling into her.

Lucy had to admit she did admire this cute moment that Happy and Natsu mischievously plotted. However, she had to get herself and them up if they're ever going to get to the Academy for the first day of teaching the DWMA students.

So she tried to push herself off of Natsu. Regardless of her attempt that didn't work and only made his hold on her stronger by reinforcing his arms around her waist. As stubborn as Lucy she devised another plan in her head.

"Okay…maybe just a little longer won't hurt…" Lucy somnolently mumbled and allowed herself to drape her arms over Natsu's pillow and around his neck, closing her eyes in the process.

Her eyes, unwillingly, open up due to a light shining at them, bugging her to wake up. If it hadn't been the rays of the sun reaching out through the window on the left wall, Lucy probably would have forgotten all about the plan to wake up the dragon and the exceed.

She had now paid attention to how relaxed Natsu's arms were against her. She regretted how Natsu and Happy deceive this plan on this important day of all days, knowing she would have to ruin it. Although, she had a good few minutes of peace with them.

Holding onto Natsu, she pulled him up and shifted her feet back onto the cold wooden floor. She could feel Happy flying off to watch the scene in a shock to him. Still holding onto Natsu, she yanked him out of bed and, to their surprise, he fell onto the floor with his feet still hanging on the bed.

"Lushiii!" Natsu and Happy whined in unison.

Meanwhile…

Soul knocked on Maka's bedroom door. He had just woken up surprisingly earlier than Maka. Although, he could have sworn that she was the early bird out of the two.

"Are you going to get up?"

No response.

He scoffed and decided to walk back to his room to get ready.

Changing into his classic mustard yellow and black jacket that he of course button up. This jacket had a particular small soul design on his right side and a large one on his back. With some maroon pants and a medium length grey headband, his outfit was complete.

He went out of his room and over to Maka's door and it was still unopened. He knocked again.

"Maka, you're going to be late."

Still no response. He let the air from his mouth exhale out. Even if she did decide to wake up now, they wouldn't be late, he just wanted to give her a bit of a scare to finally get up.

With the remaining time that they had, Soul was thinking that he could make a proper breakfast, other than toast.

Soul placed down the pan onto the stove and heated up the burner. Some simple scrambled eggs with bacon would do just fine and hopefully, Maka could smell it too in her slumber

Sadly this did not come to be, because Soul had to go over to her door a third time this morning to wake her. He opened the door and went up to the sleeping Maka then shook her.

"Maka! Wake up you idiot!"

She grumbled while feebly putting her hand to his face and that was the last straw for Soul. He carefully took off the covers on her then had proceeded to carry her by first grabbing her legs. Then had tucked her body over his shoulder.

Obviously Maka had woken up by now and she demanded, "Soul! You better put me down now!"

He ignored her and he even ignored her frantic kicking and punching. He had walked out of her room and onto the dining table where he had placed her, gently, onto a chair. The food was already placed for Maka and Soul for them to eat. Soul had already started to dig in and he noticed Maka looking straight at him raising her eyebrows and opening her mouth a little.

Soul noticed this and stopped eating to tell her, "Quit looking at me, you weirdo, and eat your food."

I wanted to add-in a little special chapter for all of you Nalu and SoMa lovers. As this is a Romance/Adventure story I felt that the Romance part was lacking a bit, so hopefully this chapter makes up for it.
