Fairy Tail x Soul Eater
Chapter 9: A Kick and A Chop
—
After a long day of the academy, Soul and Maka are finally walking home together, talking about recent events of today's school day and are ready for the weekend.
Until something pops in Soul's head like a light bulb. He starts walking backward while Maka is finishing up her sentence, stupidly thinking she wouldn't notice.
Obviously she did and stopped mid-sentence to fume at him, while turning 180 degrees, "Soul, where are you going?!"
Not wanting to get 'Maka Chopped' he starts running for his life and calls back, "I won't be long!"
"You idiot…" she mumbles to herself as she continues to walk back to their house.
Soul had already reached the stairs for the second time today hoping that Gray is still there and he is not too late.
Before he knew it, Soul had already slammed open the door to Gray's classroom while panting from the sprint here.
Gray stops folding up chairs and pulls one out for Soul as he says, "Good, you're here."
Soul nods and closes the door while waking to sit, slouching a bit.
Gray continues while soothing his neck, "Look if you're going to take my class it's gotta be on the weekends and you can't tell anyone because I'm not really allowed to do this."
"Yea that sounds good but you don't have to strip to tell me."
Keeping his composure trying not to address the situation, Gray looks for his shirt while adding on, "We'll start tomorrow at eight."
Taking this as how to signal to go he gets up from his chair and walks to the door until Grey reminds him, "This ain't going to be easy."
With Maka
Distant purring is heard from Blair as Maka pets her thinking to herself on the couch.
"Ouch! You're hurting me." Blair hisses and jumps out of Maka's lap and onto the floor.
"Oh sorry! I was just thinking how crappy it was for Soul to leave so unannounced."
"Me too, I was looking forward to playing with him." she pouts and walks away.
Make rolls her eyes and hears the doorbell ring. She mumbles to herself and raises her shoulders, "That better not be who I think it is."
When she opens the door it isn't who she thinks it is and in reality it's Lucy. Seeing a familiar face, that isn't the one who she is infuriated by, eases her up a bit.
"Hey Maka, the girls, and I wanted to know if you would want to hang out with us since the boys are crashing my place." she sweatdropped.
However, Maka would love to hang out with the girls she presumed were Erza, Wendy, Carla, Tsubaki, and hopefully the Thompson sisters.
"By any chance is Soul at your house too?" Make questions trying to hide her anger.
After all, if this was true and if he was just at Lucy's house the entire time her worrying about him would be completely pointless and possibly even more infuriating of why her partner couldn't tell her this out of something so simple.
"Yea I-"
"Take me there." Make said ever so sweetly that it chilled Lucy.
"R-Right this way!"
A few turns and a couple of blocks away, Maka and Lucy reached the curb of three houses that was a current home to the mages.
Lucy had opened the door for Maka to have found Black Star, Gray, Natsu, and even Death the Kid. Although, no Soul was in the cluster of boys playing the video game on the T.V.
There was a strange silence and extreme focus throughout the handful of guys sitting around the television. There were a few grunts here and there but not even Blackstar said anything or gloated about himself.
Gray, who wasn't holding a controller, was one of the first to notice the girls walking in who he nudged Natsu.
"You're still here?" Natsu asked monotonously as he was fixated on the T.V working with his game controller.
"Well I do also live here, you know!" Lucy bickered in annoyance.
After Lucy had said that, Soul had just walked out of the bathroom. Maka's head had turned violently towards that direction letting her pigtails fly. Her and Soul's eyes had met and she narrowed her gaze at him.
"What?" he said nonchalantly walking past her.
Before he can take his place on the couch, Maka grabs him by the back collar of his jacket.
"So you think I'm an unreliable partner that you can't even talk to even if it is just about going out," she muttered trying to make him feel guilty.
That did work when bawled out laughing and said, "Your words not mine!"
Reaching for the nearest book she could find she had also overheard Lucy's argument with Natsu.
Lucy fumed, "Are you seriously kicking me out of our own house?!"
"No, I just said you should get going," he said in his non-expressive voice, which is odd for Natsu because he's always 'fired up'.
"LUCY…"
"MAKA…"
"KICK!"
"CHOP!"
Even though both partners of the mage and meister both got hit their injuries were strangely different. As Soul had a dent in his head, Natsu had a swelling bump on his head.
"Sorry are we coming in at a bad time?" A light familiar voice spoke.
"Gihi, you really got your ass handed to you by bunny girl huh Salamander?" Another familiar musky voice chatted.
Before Lucy or Natsu could look their way to greet them a roar of success from the fellow boys greatly overpowered their attention.
"Ha! I knew I would win as I predicted! I didn't even need Soul's help!" Blackstar gloated.
"You only won because Natsu was out of the game." Kid commented.
Once that was acknowledged, Lucy joyously gave Levy a hug along with giving Gajeel a proper greeting. Thus started the trail of other greetings and introductions.
Amongst the chatter and laughter, there was one thing on Gray's mind ever since Levy and Gajeel came into the room so he asked them, "Hey wasn't Juvia also supposed to be here with you guys?"
Levy clasps her hands on her mouth as she gasps and immediately tells him, "She's waiting for you at your house!"
After Lord Death had given the new temporary teachers of the DWMA, he had given them a quick look through his mirror where their new home will be for the time being. Juvia knowing that she would be staying her time at her darling Gray's house, she had decided to rush straight over there.
Now there she is patiently waiting for her darling by the front of the door with her luggage. She had knocked a few times and rang the doorbell but had received no answer. However, she didn't have to wait long as she felt cool arms around her neck for the warm evening.
Gray put his chin on the top of her head and whispered to her, "I missed you,"
"Juvia missed you too!" she exclaimed and broke his hold with her own as she turned towards him and snuggled her face into his surprising clothed chest.
Gray's cheeks were coming to be of a pink color, similar to a particular dragon slayer, he didn't want Juvia to notice so he grabbed her bags and walked to open the door.
"You coming inside?"
She nodded and let the rest of the evening be for themselves for their comfort.
