Fairy Tail x Soul Eater

(Sorry not sorry for the clichés!)

Chapter 10: Pancakes

The night was still young for the fellow Mages and DWMA students. Except for Levy and Gajeel, who had gone straight to bed from their extended train ride and not to mention the tiring walk in the sandy wasteland to get here.

However, even though they went to bed earlier than the others, that doesn't mean they had any sleep due to the loud rambunctious boys who were still playing the video game even after the girls had left.

Speaking of which, the girls were staying at Erza and Wendy's who were having a rather typical girls night. Braiding hair, making popcorn, watching movies, and other cliché girls night activities.

All was fun and innocent until Erza thought of the brilliant idea of playing the dignity killing game Master. To which Wendy and Lucy declined in the horror of that God-forsaken Christmas night. The girls didn't end up playing it, leaving the DWMA students very curious about what that game had in store.

Instead they played a well-known game of truth or dare but, now it had become more of a truth or truth. Although Liz and Patty stepped out of the game, they had their good share of 'juicy' questions to ask.

"So Maka, are you and Soul dating?" Lucy asked with a mischievous chuckle.

"What? No, we're partners and friends." Maka stated, surprisingly calmly, for getting an embarrassing question like that.

"Really? I actually would have never guessed that you guys weren't…" Wendy bashfully said and couldn't finish her sentence but, everyone knew what she meant.

From this, they started a trail of comments of Maka and Soul's relationship which had only made the heart of Maka speed up.

"Their Soul connection has also been strong!" Tsubaki approved.

"Even if they were to get together, it's not like anything would change." Liz added on.

Instinctually and out of desperation of wanting to change the subject, Maka had thrown Lucy under the bus by asking herself a question about her own relationship.

"So! Lucy, do you and Natsu kiss?" she sputtered out.

"I..um! Well, we...um, you see...n-no." Lucy admitted.

Obviously, the girls were shocked and even the Fairy Tail mages were too because that wasn't the answer they were expecting when it comes to their relationship, or any other romances.

"Well now that I think about it, we did when we first confessed to each other but, it's not like I'm going to be kissing him anytime soon after tonight!" she recalls from when Natsu rudely dismissed her.

For the rest of the night, the girls giggled and asked each other embarrassing questions for one another until 11:00 arose which was their time to go.

Luckily enough that was also around the time the boys had left for their proper houses but, unfortunately, Natsu wasn't so lucky as Lucy kicked him out to sleep on the couch while also keeping Happy with her.

The air was still and the couch was hard, clearly it was made for sitting not sleeping. Until Natsu got a whiff of rusty penny scent which made his night possibly even worse.

"Sleeping in the doghouse, huh Salamander?" Gajeel teases.

"No, I'm on the couch, stupid."

Gajeel rolls his eyes, forgetting how dense Natsu can be and murmurs under his breath, "Idiot."

"Watcha call me Metalhead?!" he bickered

"Shhh! Quiet down! Lucy is already mad at you, to begin with, so don't add fuel to the fire." Gajeel hushed while crossing his arms.

It took Natsu a moment to realize that he was being serious since he used Lucy's name instead of 'Bunny girl'. The floor seemed of a more comfortable spot to gaze at than Gajeel's truth.

"Lucy's mad at me?" Natsu asked weakly.

He nodded and let out air from his mouth then started, "It was what you said before we got here."

Gajeel is a Dragonslayer along with Natsu and Wendy, one of the perks of being one is the use of heightened hearing. So he had heard Lucy and Natsu's little dispute even before Levy or him entered the house.

"No, I just said you should get going,"

That sentence lingered in his head until he finally looked at him and spoke up, "So what'd ya suppose I do?"

"Gihi, I don't know I only came out here to tell you that you're a dumbass."

In truth, Gajeel could sympathize with the Fire Dragon Slayer, as he too has been in his situation a few times.

Taking in what his comrade had just told him, he crossed his arms then looked up intensively as if maybe the ceiling had his answer.

Regardless of his efforts, thinking wasn't Natsu's strong point. He let go of his posture then admitted his warm breath out to the cold air.

Getting up without a plan, he had begun his short walk to their room. He opened and closed the door on his way in, walked over, and gradually slid his way under the covers with her. He turns toward her and moves Happy from her back on her head.

"Sorry for being such a jerk." Natsu whispers to her knowing she is still awake.

"You mean an insensitive jerk?" Lucy claimed, still a little spiteful.

"Whatever that means, yes," Natsu said with a slight chuckle.

"Then I forgive you."

The Next Day (Maka and Soul)

"And then I told him, Kid I'm going to kick your ass in this game, and right now if you don't shut up about symmetry." Soul crackled.

Trying to clear up recent events of last night of their quarrel, Soul had made pancakes this morning and by telling her the somewhat truth about leaving without telling her.

It was manageable to stretch out the truth because all he had to do was not tell her about his secret training with Gray. He did, however, tell her that BlackStar invited him to play along with that Gray was already there, to begin with.

"Hey Maka, what time is it?" He asked while still chewing on a piece of pancake.

She finished her laugh and spoke, "8:07 actually why."

He took a sharp inhale of breath and gulped his pancake, trying not to choke, then got up from his seat.

"Sorry, Maka, I have to be somewhere right now."

He then burst out of the door, trying to think of something he could come upon on his way back.

45 minutes later~

After Soul had run over to the Academy he had found out that Gray was actually also late and so he waited. When he actually did come, Gray had told him that he got permission from Death to go to the mountains.

Which leads us to here where they are both walking up this tall snowy mountain. To keep Soul from thinking about how cold it is, he decided to strike up a conversation with his new instructor, something he should have asked on the train ride here.

"So why were you late?"

"You know Happy?"

"Yeah?"

"Well apparently last night he was missing. So I was helping out by searching for him to where I ended up where we all first met."

They both remembered that fateful day that was not too long ago.

Gray continues, "Apparently he was at the DWMA all along, flying 'round the place like a drone and was unconscious when Gajeel found him."

"Is he okay?"

"Yeah, he's drained though, and won't be able to fly for a few days. He's going to be at the academy's infirmary into he gets better."

They both stayed silent after that as they headed to higher and colder grounds, trying not to waste their energy on talking.

They seemed to have found their spot when Gray stopped walking. The scenery was small with snow hills here and there. Soul took a moment to gaze at the cool view until Gray stripped in front and raised his brow in suspicion.

"Gray what the hell?"

"Before we get started, you have to strip."

A/N

Wow-what a wonderful sentence to end off on. Yeah okay, I know the sleepover cliché was added but, come on you can't have a fanfiction without one? Right? Okay I have no more excuses for myself.

Well I hope you enjoyed
