Revali: Hero of Twilight

Summary: Instead of Calamity Gannon, the Champions have to deal with Zant. Revali gets the chance he always wanted; center stage. Too bad it's not Hyrule. And a bossy Imp, intent on bossing him around.

Prologue

They all looked up at the castle.

Or specifically, above the castle. Where a red and black storm had formed over it. Raining down pink lightning, and loud thunder.

"He's here." Urbosa stated.

"This is it then."

"Are you sure?" Mipha asked, softly.

"Positive."

"Gannon." Zelda

"Let's stop wasting time." Daruk declared, hitting his fist.

"Why? I'm already here." A dark, deep voice stated, behind them.

It was a man, dark skinned as a Gerudo. With short, red hair. Covered in what looked similar Sheikah glyphs. Only glowing a bright red.
Gannon. Gandorf. Calamity.

Immediately, Link unsheathed his blade, and Daruk charged.

OOO

Link was blown back, before the force of Gannons attack. Over the cliff.

"Link!" Zelda yelled, looking over the cliff side with worry.

"Give up, Princess." Gannon taunted, throwing an injured Urbosa at her.

The three Champions, and the Princess were going to lose. Defeat was a forgone conclusion.

Not that Revali cared. Heavily injured, and out of arrows. But Revali wasn't about to let that stop him. Charging everything into the next, final attack, Revali charged from the sky.

"Ah. So these are the Riders of the Sheikah's Beasts." Gannon declared, with a distasteful frown. Looking over the group. "How... quaint."

"And you're the guy who always loses." Revali spat between shivers. Red seeping out from between feathers. Still, he stood up, and charged at the enemy. Throwing everything he had into the next attack.

It wouldn't help much. But Revali refused to go down without a fight!

Only to be grabbed in mid air, Gannon's blight covered form held him loftily, with one hand. The Champion trying to break free, or at least strike out at the villain with wings and claws. Whatever worked. It sort of worked, but it was only feathers, and Revali wasn't used to unarmed combat, and this was the Calamity, so... little effect.

"M-Monster!" Zelda brokenly yelled. Her face flush with anger and fear, as she lay on the ground. "B-Beast!"

"A beast, you say?" Gannon asked, with the beginnings of a smirk. "If it's a beast your after..."

Gannon's hand glowed with darkness. Transferring onto Revail's feathers. Coating their already black appearance more solid, and covering over the white feathers. Before they disappeared, the magic soaking in.

Then, Gannon released him. Causing the Rito to fall to his knees before the Calamity.

Which would have been the perfect time to attack-or escape. If Revali could think straight.

It was...

Dark tendrils of shadows climbed out of his skin, curling around feathers. So dark, and cold, and everywhere. Starting off in slow bursts, but then gradually building into a fury. Small shakes turning into tremors.

It hurt. So much. The way his body seemed to shake, and spasm. Even as he tried to remain still, and unmoved.

Snap!

The sharp hiss of broken bone. Wh-How did he fall on his wings? Even half-conscious, any Rito would protect-No, wait. Doesn't matter. Because pain. A limb or two was nothing compared...

A scream. His scream. Long, and pained. That he was only half-conscious of. And then, blessedly, blackness.

A Twilight Portal opening straight above Revali's body. As it broke down into pieces, which then descending upward. In it's place, a new body reassembled.

Black scales, wrapping around a reptilian form. Smaller, more compact. Not any creature Gannon recognized, not even as Demise...

Patterns swirled among the black. Bright, golden and red feathers. The symbol of the Rito on his forehead. The wings were leathery, without feathers. Sharp, angular features. A toothy grin, despite the beak.

Gannon surveyed his captured enemies with amusement. Their varying states of empathic pain, love, hate, horror, resentment and worry was amusing. As so few things were
"It's it fitting." Gannon remarked. "That a creature who in his life, was dedicated to Light. Then forced into a creature of darkness."

For now, he would merely be animal. But perhaps later, it would ease a secondary transformation into something more... monstrous.

The only thing more ironic, was if the bird was turned into a Twili. That a Champion of Light would be unable to walk within the Light freely. Unfortunately, that was quite abit out of his expertise. For now.

Calling a few Moblins to take the creature away, he turned to the remaining four.

Over on the cliffs. Ever so careful to remain in the shadows, and out of sight.

"What to do?" Midna wondered aloud. "I could look for the hero..."

It wouldn't be ideal. She was in no position to bargain. Nothing to give. No guarantee the Hylian wouldn't just consider her another Twili, and fight. Not to mention, she was hardly feeling charitable for some Light dweller.

She smirked, noticing Zant's ally was thoroughly distracted with the other prisoners.

Ignoring the turned bird...

"Not exactly what I was going for, but... you'll do..."

Notes: Gannon is about as powerful as the Gannon in Twilight Princess. He also controls the Blight. Somewhat. It does what he wants, but its more blunt control. And Revali is a pterodactyl
