The Devil's Kiss
Chapter 4
The chair ricochet against the wall as Damon yelled out in frustration throwing all the glasses off his table, his anger swelling within him.
Groaning, Damon flopped on his bed placing the pillow on his face and screaming within it, the pillow muffling the sound before throwing it across the room and settling on his side wondering when the fuck his life would be normal again. He hated this. He hated being this creature just because he made a few mistakes. Why had he been so stupid? This was his fault. All his fault.
Sliding into his sheets, Damon tried but mostly failed to go to sleep as images of all his past victims floated through his mind. He tried to pick the worst of the worst, but even they were still human. Human who had made mistakes just like he did. They didn't deserve this. No one did. But fuck he was oh so hungry.
Grabbing his phone. Damon opened his dating app looking through all his matches as one caught his eye making his jaw drop. Elena. What was she doing on a sight like this?
Taping on her profile, Damon scrolled to check on her information finding him smiling ever so slightly. As if he didn't already find her severely attractive, her profile made it ten times worse.
Elena's profile told Damon that she was a college student attending for her doctorate in the medicine. She also loved the great outdoors and going to concerts. She seemed like a very fun girl who cared about other people and loved volunteering, if he wasn't such a beast, he would consider going for her. But he never could. Not if he was a monster. Angels didn't go for the devils. And a devil he was.
Sighing, Damon put his phone away to avoid the temptation to message her as he looked at his ceiling trying to avoid his hunger. Why the hell was he still so hungry? Was this his basic hunger or something deeper? Whatever it was food and alcohol usually helped the cravings, so he went to his fridge gathering food to make himself a sandwich as his phone chimed making him silently curse. What the hell was happening now?
'Ric is going on a tangent because I need the night off work. Do you think you could cover for me please?' Lexi texted as Damon sighed. Of course, she needed the night off.
'What's in it for me?' Damon asked waiting for the response that Lexi always gave to him.
'I can give you the number of one of my worst friends' Lexi answered as Damon smiled. Perfect.
'Deal.' He typed putting his phone away as he sighed texting Ric the details of what was happening with the shift change.
'Figures. I guess I'll see you tonight.'
Putting his phone down, Damon sighed wanting nothing more than a little company as his scrolled through his contacts finding just the girl he was looking for.
"Hey gorgeous, what are you up to?"
"What do you want Damon?" Sage asked seeming annoyed.
"I was wondering if you were in the mood for some company?"
"What makes you think I want your type of company?"
"Because you always do. Come on, for old times sake. "
"Fine, but this is the last time. Where did you want to meet?"
"How about my place? Say in twenty minutes?"
"Sounds good to me." She replied hanging up the phone as he leaned back in his chair wishing his life could be different.
