She named him Richard Arthur Grimes, but everyone calls him RJ. He has her big, brown eyes, but when he smiles and tilts his head to the side, he looks just like Rick.
He gave her no trouble at all when he came into the world. Small and unassuming; bringing joy, hope, and a pang of sadness all at once. Yet, in spite of the circumstances, Richie brought so much love into the lives of Michonne and Judith. Each swearing to protect him until their dying breath.
Sometimes she sees flashes of Carl and André in him. Especially when he is being inquisitive or stubborn. She quietly laments the fact that her boys never got the chance to meet him. She is always thankful her smart Judy Pie was there with them the whole time.
Now, as the three of them lie curled together in the bed she shared with the love of her life, Michonne smiles. She strokes their hair in turn, and continues the bedtime story. The main character is the same every night, though the adventures change. Each night, Rick Grimes' son and daughter fall asleep to the sound of their mother's voice telling tales of his strength, bravery, and love for his family.
