Ch.11: Aftermath
A/N: Hey everyone! Here's a quarantine update for you! READ AND REVIEW! Author's Note at the end!
The next morning, Logan awakened to find himself entangled in Kendall's embrace. He could feel the blonde's soft breathing on his neck. He knew he should not be in bed with his ex-whatever. If Jeff were to walk in the room, he'd probably stop seeing him, he figured. But, he cared for both men. Kendall, in the "we-have-a-history-and-a-child-together" way; Jeff in the "you're-my-super-hot-neighbor-and-I-wanna-make-out-with-you" way. Often, his head and his heart fought back and forth about what he wants, making him a rather indecisive person in that regard.
Logan pushed the blankets away while trying to peel himself out of Kendall's grip. He thought he was free when Kendall pulled him back onto the bed into his embrace, releasing a moan as he rose from his slumber.
"Mm...stay with me, baby." Kendall nuzzled his face in the crevice of Logan's neck.
"Kendall, let me go." Logan groaned as he squirmed in the man's hold. Kendall's embrace tightened around Logan's waist.
"Beg me." The blonde commanded in a low tone. Logan hated to admit it, but Kendall's morning voice was intoxicating. It was deep, husky, and simply sexy. It sent shivers down Logan's spine and frankly didn't help his morning wood. He hadn't had sex in a VERY long time. To add to the stress, He and Jeff hadn't even gotten to point of having sex; He craved it…badly.
Logan flipped himself over in Kendall's embrace, facing the blonde. He looked deep into his emerald irises and smirked.
"You want me to beg, huh?" Logan turned them over, straddling the blonde while pinning him down to the bed. Kendall grinned up at Logan. He couldn't believe Logan was on top of him in a non-violent way. He assumed if Logan was ever going to be on top of him again, it would be because he's choking him to death. Logan scooted back, chuckling smugly when he felt Kendall's large erection brush against his ass through his underwear. Smirking, he gripped Kendall's member through his shorts, tugging lightly.
"From the way it looks, I think you should beg me." Logan moaned as he ground his clothed erection against Kendall's. Kendall gripped Logan's hips tight as they created friction between them. Logan grasped Kendall's chest, eyes closed as he pleasured himself. This was wrong but it felt so right.
Kendall rolled them over so that Logan was pinned underneath him as he humped the smaller man. "Now, this is more like it." The blonde attacked his neck with bites and kisses, making Logan moan at the contact. "Wait, what about Jeff?" Kendall asked, pausing his movements to kiss Logan's ear.
"Like you care." Logan panted. He pulled Kendall down onto him, bucking his hips up to meet Kendall's thrusts. The moaning, sweating, panting, and thrusting drove their senses into overload. Logan knew the repercussions of his actions would catch up with him, but at the moment, he didn't care. The more Kendall slid his body against Logan's, the more Jeff became a distant memory.
Kendall relished in the fact of knowing he had control of Logan. Each thrust elicited a sexual cry from him. He was a dominant force and loved that Logan wanted to take control of him, but they both knew it wouldn't last for long. He couldn't make heads or tails as to why the brunet, who was also in a relationship of sorts, wanted him to gratify his sexual needs. None of it made sense, but they were past the point of caring. He craved Logan's tan skin against his own, albeit clothed. Whenever they came together, it was electric.
"Babe, I'm gonna cum..."
"Me too..."
Logan's breathy tone sent shivers down Kendall's spine as he whispered in his ear. Within a few final thrusts, Logan came with a loud groan inside his boxer-briefs. Seeing the look of ecstasy on his fellow's spy's face. Kendall thrust once more, shooting his load in his boxers. The blonde collapsed on top of Logan, panting and sweating. Logan laid still, cheeks flushed, hair matted in sweat with wide-eyes as the gravity of what transpired all came down at once.
"Fuck…What have I done?" Logan whispered. Kendall raised his head from the crevice of Logan's neck. He looked down at Logan, flustered with red cheeks. Kendall pressed small kisses to Logan's neck. Logan groaned and began pushing Kendall off of him.
"I gotta go." Logan successfully pushed Kendall off, running from the bed to the bathroom. Kendall followed right behind, getting to the door, only to hear it lock as soon as he reached for the handle.
"Logan, wait! Can't we talk about what just happened?" Kendall asked.
"Nope. Can't hear you 'cause I'm showering." Logan said through the door. Kendall heard the faucet turn and water pour into the tub.
Kendall sighed, walking back to the bed, flopping on the mattress.
Following a long and awkwardly quiet plane ride, the two spies landed back at HQ. As soon as the door of the jet opened, Logan was off the plane, bags in tow, walking into HQ. Kendall was amazed at Logan's speed in his desperate need to avoid him. He grabbed his belongings and exited the plane into HQ. Now the only thing left to endure aside from the tension between them was the debriefing in front of all the important leaders and agents of Central Intelligence. Even Jo managed to get a seat in the second row.
The director called everyone into the grand conference room. Kendall and Logan were asked to stand behind Director Reid. The two spies stood tensely next to each other.
"We're going to have to talk eventually, you know," Kendall whispered, breaking the silence between them.
"Not right now, we don't," Logan replied.
"Well, when? We can't just pretend —"
"Everyone, may I have your attention please?" Director Reid called into the microphone. The chattering room fell into a hush. "Thank you."
"I've brought you all in today to let you know that we've successfully shut down Robert Hunt and his operation." He paused. The room erupted in thunderous applause following the director's statement. After a few moments, the director raised his hand to regain their attention.
"Due to the heroic efforts of Agents Mitchell and Knight, we were able to intercept the remaining bevy of drugs that the Hunt Cartel planned to ship out and detain his associates as well. There will be more news to follow. We still have some work cut out for us. For now, I and all of Central Intelligence want to thank everyone who has worked on this case from beginning to end. Let's have a round of applause for Agents Knight and Mitchell. Gentlemen?" The director gestured for the two men to step forward and receive their recognition. Once again, the room erupted in applause and cheers. Jo, on the other hand, scowled at seeing Logan and Kendall together. Logan looked her in the eye and winked. Kendall, oblivious to the interaction, nodded his head to his colleagues in gratitude.
"Thank you, everyone. That concludes our debriefing for today." Director Reid stated once the applause died down. He turned off the microphone and proceeded out of the conference room.
Logan and Kendall came down from the platform where a few agents came to speak with them and shake their hands to congratulate them once again. Jo made her way behind a few of the agents who were lined up to shake Kendall's hand. Once they cleared away, she stepped up with a coy look in her eye.
"I guess this means you're back in the big leagues again, huh? Gonna forget about us little people once you get your full clearance back again." Kendall looked at the blonde woman with contempt.
"Jo, what are you doing?"
"What do you mean?" She asked coquettishly. Kendall groaned and pulled Jo over to the side. He looked around to make sure they were out of earshot. The only people who remained in the room were a few agents who gathered around Logan to chat. He turned back to Jo and glared at her.
"Don't think I don't know what you're trying to do."
"Kendall, what are you talking—"
"You know damn well what I'm talking about. I bet you thought I wouldn't hear about it." Kendall backed her into a corner of the room. "You threatened Logan. More importantly, you threatened my son." The color flushed from Jo's face. She knew this wasn't going as planned. Everyone knew a heated Kendall was nothing to trifle with.
"I'm sorry..."She murmured.
"I'm sure you are. When you threaten my son, you threaten me. Let me make something clear. If you ever think about touching him, if even one hair on his head is out of place because of something you did…" Kendall got in her face, his tone stiff and surly. "I'll make sure they never find your body. Are we clear?" Kendall glared at her.
"Yes, Kendall. I'm so sorry! I don't know what I was thinking. I-I-I just liked being with you and going out with you. and I got a little jealous. I thought with you and Logan working together again meant that you'd spend more time with him and I wouldn't get to see you anymore."
"So, you threatened my family? Yeah. Real girlfriend material." Kendall scoffed as he began walking away.
"Kendall, wait!" Jo cried out.
"Stay away from me. And, stay away from my Logan!" Kendall scolded as he exited the conference room.
Jo stood there cold and flustered. She always got what she wanted. No matter how she had to do it she always got what she wanted. Job positions, cars, ivy league schools. Whatever she desired, it was hers. Kendall was no different. She'd simply just have to find another way. Taking a deep breath, she tossed her wavy blonde hair over her shoulder, straightened her pencil skirt, and strutted her way to the door. She turned and looked at the one thing that stood her in way ever since she got to the CIA — Logan. He was the one person that could make her plans crumble. She watched as he smiled, talked, and laughed with his colleagues. It sickened her to her stomach that he had everything she ever wanted. 'It's about time to knock him down a peg.' Jo thought with a devilish grin. She pivoted on her red-bottom stilettos and stomped out of the conference room, more determined than before.
Jo Taylor was not going down without a fight.
After a long day of celebrating and shaking hands, Logan finally was able to pull into his driveway. More than being excited about getting home, he was elated to see his baby boy. It was hard enough to be away from Andy when he was at work on a normal day. Being away from him for three days for a mission felt like torture. Thankfully, James had agreed to babysit since he wasn't out in the field until the following week. He could only hope that James survived the past three days with just Andy and no help whatsoever. James was good at many things - charming heiresses to gain intel, singing, and maintaining his looks. The one thing he wasn't exactly good at was dealing with children. Logan could only imagine how James dealt with Andy's fussy moments.
He turned off the engine and got out to grab his luggage from the trunk. He opened the trunk and retrieved his bags, closing it to find Jeff standing right next to the car. Logan jumped as he wasn't expecting to see anyone there.
"Hey, you're back! I hope I didn't startle you." Jeff smiled.
"Jeff! Hi! No, I just didn't expect to see you there." Logan tried to get his pulse back down as he was genuinely startled. Jeff seemingly appeared out of nowhere. Jeff moved to hug Logan. Logan embraced him with a tight hold. Jeff was everything Logan felt he needed in his life. Jeff was normal and lived a normal life. He jogged every morning and evening after work, watered his plants, and even mowed his lawn every Saturday morning at nine am too. A perfectly normal life. He didn't chase bad guys on narrow rooftop ledges nor front flipping off said ledges to dodge bullets. Jeff was the ideal mate. The men released each other from the embrace smiling at each other.
"How was your business trip? What'd you do?" The taller man inquired. Logan's heart began racing again at the thought of having to explain how his trip went. Revealing that he and his supposed 'ex spent the night cuddling. Then, spent the morning dry-humping each other like hormone-enraged teenagers wasn't his idea of "catching up".
"It was fine. Nothing too exciting, you know? Same old, same old." He said absently. "What have you been up to the past few days?" He asked trying to get the attention off himself.
"Not much just work, some gardening, and exercising," Jeff answered with his million-dollar smile. "I did miss seeing a certain someone now and again though." He looked deep into Logan's brown eyes as they glimmered in the L.A. sunset.
"You're sweet. I too missed seeing a certain neighbor jogging past my window every morning." Logan placed his hand on Jeff's cheek.
"When are you gonna let me take you out again?" Jeff inquired.
"We can get together sometime this week. Just let me get readjusted to being back in this time zone and we can have dinner." Logan winked.
"Promise?"
"Cross my heart!" Logan placed his hand on his chest. "I hate to cut this short but I'm still a little jet-lagged and better get inside to make sure James is still alive. He babysat for the first time."
"Ah! Say no more! Do you need help carrying your bags in?" Jeff went to reach for Logan's suitcase. More importantly, it was the bag with all of his weapons. Logan dove to get the bag out of reach of the taller brunet.
"Nope. I've got it! This has some delicate items in it. But I look forward to our dinner this week." Logan said as he hugged Jeff quickly and made his way to the door of his house with his luggage. Jeff looked downtrodden watching Logan rush off. Logan opened the front door and waved good night to his beau. He waved back blowing a kiss which made the raven-haired man grin as he shut the door.
Jeff turned in the direction of his house. He took his phone out of his pocket and dialed a number. He put the receiver to his ear while walking up the porch stairs to the door.
"Hello, sir? He's just returned at nineteen-hundred hours. Affirmative…Affirmative…Yes sir." He hung up the phone and smirked to himself. "This is going to be fun." He smiled looking over at Logan's home.
Logan set his bags at the front door, too weak to carry them all the way upstairs to his room. He looked around at the living room seeing empty chip bags on the coffee table and the sofa pillows in disarray. James and Andy were nowhere to see. The tv was still on which meant they were in the house but it was up to Logan to find out where.
"James? James, where are you?" Logan called. Logan received no reply. He tried not to worry but in his line of work silence usually meant dead or on the way to die. He checked for his gun in his back holster. After making sure it was there in case he needed it, he trod up the stairs in search of his son and stepbrother.
He opened the nursery door, sighing with relief, finding James nodding off in the big chair next to Andy's crib with a storybook in one hand and a very awake Andy wriggling in his other arm. Logan smiled at the vision before him. James honestly would make such a good father to his and Carlos' future children. He took out his phone and snapped a quick photo of them. The flash from the camera woke James from his light slumber.
"Heeey Logan…I wasn't sleeping. I was just reading a book to my nephew here." James said sleepily.
"With your eyes closed?"
"It's how the cool kids do it nowadays." He laughed lazily.
"Uh-huh. Glad to know you're staying on top of the trends." Logan went over to James, taking Andy from his arm and cuddling him into an embrace. "Hi, baby. How are you?" The infant cooed and gurgled at the affection as his father kissed his chubby cheeks repeatedly. James smiled contently knowing Logan was at his happiest.
"I hope I can be half the dad you are." James complimented, making Logan grin. "Oh, please."
No, really! You're able to balance your career and still be able to be there for your son." James stroked the back of Andy's head lightly.
"James, I don't even know what I'm doing. I'm just making things up as I go along."
"Well, you make it look easy." James sighed, standing up to stretch. "Carlos and I want to be great parents like that…if we ever get to be parents, that is."
"Don't say that. You guys are gonna be parents. You just can't rush the process."
"Easy for you to say. You got pregnant right off the first try. And you weren't even trying! " James retorted slumping against the doorframe.
"James, I didn't mean to sound nonchalant. I know you and Carlos are wanting to have a child. That's wonderful, but it's completely different when you have a job like the one we have."
"I don't care," James replied, every syllable dripping with despondence.
"You should. I used to worry about just me before I got pregnant. Now that I have Andy, I worry if I'm gonna even come home alive to see my son; It's a lot. Enough to make me consider quitting the game." Logan whispered. James' eyes widened at the revelation.
"Quit? Logan, you can't quit!" James' whispered. "Especially not now! You just got back." He pleads.
"Well, not now but soon. James, I don't want to spend the rest of my life having to look over my shoulder wondering if someone's going to come after me or my son. That's not fair to Andy. He means more to me than my career." He sighed. "These are the things having a child in this field of work will do. I can't just think about me anymore."
"Have you talked to Kendall about how you've been feeling? It's gonna affect him too." Logan turned away from James' gaze. Everywhere he turned, Kendall always came into the picture.
"I haven't and I've only felt this way recently. This past mission kind of put some things in perspective. Logan adjusted the baby in his arms to make him more comfortable. "I want to get away from the complicated and give Andy a normal life. I want to go to school plays and soccer games and parent-teacher meetings."
"That does sound annoyingly perfect and fun." James chuckled.
"It does, doesn't it?" Logan sighed. "And you're gonna have it." Logan smiled at his step-brother. James looked up with his hazel eyes gleaming. He leaned over and gave Logan (and Andy) the biggest hug.
"I love you, Loges."
"I love you too, James." The two men released from their embrace.
"I better get going. I've gotta feed Carlos' fish, Mr. Foofer." James exited the nursery and walked down the downstairs with Logan right behind him.
"Mr. Foofer? That's a name you don't hear every day."
"Oh yeah. He's the fifth one too. The original Mr. Foofer died because three years ago because I forgot to feed him. I didn't have the heart to tell Carlos since he loved it so much. So, I just went to the pet store each time I forgot and bought him a new fish that looked the same." James confessed as he reached the front door.
"To think I entrusted you with the safety and well-being of my child. What has happened to my judgment?" Logan laughed.
"I don't know but thanks for the three nights of free pizza." James chuckled as he walked out the front door, heading to his car.
"Don't mention it."
"Goodnight Loges. Night, Little man!" James waved at his step-brother and nephew. He slammed the door, cranked the ignition and zoomed off into the night.
"Night!" Logan waved back, closing the door, unaware of the pictures being taken from a hiding place near his home.
