Roman glanced over at Chili. The woman with the curly, ginger hair and the deep blue eyes still looked as beautiful as ever. Her fiesty personality had died down a lot. Something that he thought came from out of guilt.
She used to be his. He loved those days where he got to call her his. The days when they were in love and living together. Until she fucked it all up and he kicked her out. She didn't even fight for him. She took all his anger without arguing against it. She accepted it was the end and left. He knew he was in the right but with what she had done and how she just accepted the end, it seemed like she never cared about him.
He knew he couldn't escape her. Not when they worked together. They avoided each other as much as possible backstage. WWE knew the smart thing would be to put them on separate brands so they sent Chili to Raw. They only saw each other at PPVs but they never spoke a word to each other.
And then tonight happened. Seth's birthday. Roman knew beforehand that Chili was invited. Undoubtedly Chili knew Roman was coming beforehand too. They should be able to exist in the same room to celebrate their friend. After all, the breakup was almost four months ago. Three months, two weeks and five days to be exact. He still had a hard time not counting the days. He was hurt and his heart was still broken. All he wanted to know was why she did it.
"Why did you two break up?" Seth suddenly asked.
Everyone stopped talking and stared at either Roman or Chili. There was no other broken up couple in the room so Seth could only have addressed his question at them. Roman and Chili were both staring at Seth who immediately regretted his question.
"Sorry, I'm way out of line," Seth looked ashamed. "It's the beer. Sorry. It's none of my business."
"She cheated on me," Roman said.
As soon as the words left Roman's mouth, he felt a weird mix of relief and regret. He had never told anyone why they broke up. Just that they did. At the same time he regretted airing their dirty laundry around so many of their friends and coworkers.
"You did?" Seth looked at Chili.
"I guess I did," Chili shrugged.
Her non-caring way to act angered Roman all over again. For so long he had wanted to hear from her. Hear her side of the story. Hear why the hell she did that to him.
"You guess?" Roman spat out the words. "I have a video of you fucking Dean of all people. My best friend! And you guess you were cheating? You really are a bitch, aren't you?"
"He sent you the video?" Chili asked surprised.
"Of course he did," Roman answered. "Unlike you he felt bad about what he did to me."
"I don't believe it," Chili said.
"I'll prove it!" Roman growled.
Roman took out his phone. Chili realized he was looking for the video. As if it wasn't enough that he got sent the video in the first place, he had also kept it. He shoved his phone in her face and she watched a very short five seconds clip of her with her face down in a pillow and Dean behind her.
"Where's the sound?" Chili asked.
"There's no sound," Roman said. "Why? Do you want me to hear you moan his name too? How the hell could you do this to me? Why wasn't I enough?"
For so long Chili had held her tongue. Roman had blown up that day. He never let her get a word in while he flung insult after unsult at her. Words she didn't even know were in his vocabulary. When he was finally done screaming, he told her to pack and leave. And so she did. He wasn't interested in hearing her side, and she wasn't interested in telling him.
"I got the full video," Chili said. "Dean sent it to me a few weeks later. You know, to mock me. He already won. You kicked me out and didn't give a shit about what really happened. And he already knew I wasn't gonna talk."
In that moment Chili no longer cared about anyone or anything. Roman had to know. Everyone had to know. She took out her phone, found the video and turned her phone around for everyone to see and hear. It started out with her and Dean fighting inside her and Roman's bedroom.
"Dean, no! Stop! Don't fucking touch me!"
"Come on, Chili. I know you want my dick. And Roman won't know."
Roman swallowed hard as he saw how Dean attacked Chili and threw her on the bed.
"Have you seen enough yet?" Chili growled. "Have you seen enough yet, you piece of shit? Tell me when to stop. It's about ten minutes long. I can also send it to everyone here if you need some fresh material for your fantasies tonight. Is that what you all want?"
Chili didn't realize she was yelling. Not until Seth stood up and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Chili, please," Seth spoke calmly. "We don't have to watch it."
"Why not? Don't you all wanna see how I apparently cheated on Roman? Why he threw me out of my own god damn home?" Chili looked at Roman. "Call me a dirty whore again, Roman. Call me a fucking dirty whore like you did that day!"
The words got stuck in Roman's throat. He had no idea what to say. Everything he had believed for almost four months was a complete lie. Dean had lied to him. Dean had raped Chili, lied about it and broken Roman and Chili apart. Roman felt guilty. He remembered everything he screamed at her that day and how he constantly called her a dirty whore.
"Chili, I..." Roman looked lost. "I don't know what to say."
"Funny since you knew exactly what to say when you threw me out," Chili said.
She grabbed her purse from the table and stormed out of the house. Everyone was left dumbfounded. Seth and Roman locked eyes.
"We got a problem," Seth said.
"Fuck, how do I fix this?" Roman asked.
"No, we got a bigger problem," Seth said. "Dean's coming tonight too."
