Good day my friends! First, my apology for not posting yesterday. I was completely distracted. I had commissioned artwork based on my favorite scene of my Knight story line and Friday I got the line art from it and I spent WAY TOO much time admiring it. So much I barely got anything written. Yesterday was slightly better until I received the fully rendered art and I was completely mesmerized by it. I'll be making a new story image for my Knight story line from it. But if you would like to see the full sized version you can go to my profile here and pop over to my twitter page and see it.

On to this story, this story is definitely going to be more than 4 chapters.

*TRIGGER WARNING*

The ending of this chapter, I should warn anyone who might have a TRIGGER for sexual assault, tread carefully after Walter has his meeting with Sylvester.

To the Adventure! -Tim

Sylvester swallowed, "So what are you going to do?"

Paige looked up at him, "After I discussed the prospect of you guys coming back to work for Scorpion Walter offered me my job back so I am going back to Scorpion. And him."

"Oh, I thought you went to get us a job? I should have known you went for yourself." Toby sneered.

Paige looked up over the paperwork at him. "Is that what you heard me say? You know Toby, I really don't care what you think. But if you care to ask Walter, I never asked for my job back. I honestly didn't think he would even be willing to meet with me let alone hire me back. So I had a friend make a fake request for help just to ensure I could meet with him about it. I was just trying to make sure you guys had an option. But he asked me and I was overjoyed at the prospect so I took it happily. You can be pissy and angry all you want but my conscious over this and as your friend is clear."

"Man this sucks," Toby complained as he stood after signing the last paper and walked out of the room.

"Are you setting up appointments for us with Scorpion?" Sylvester asked.

Paige shook her head, "You know the number and the location. It is up to you to follow through."

Sylvester nodded, "What about Florence? Is she able to talk to him about a job?"

Paige shrugged, "Who Walter chooses to speak with is up to him. However, given that Walter fired her I do not expect he will be interested in hiring her back and I will fight like hell to keep her out of Scorpion. Just because you forgave her, or whatever doesn't mean I have. I'm still not convinced she didn't do all of this just to cause problems. And since she hasn't bothered to say more than a couple of words to me since you started bringing her around, I'm not even remotely interested in forgiving her." Page got the last papers from Happy and Sylvester and left the conference room and went back to her office.

Paige called the property managers first and then the furniture rental company before she issued the finally distribution of funds. She looked at her watch and saw it was just after ten AM so she closed up her laptop and stepped over to the door before turning out the light. She stepped out and she looked at Sylvester, "I'm out of here for the day. I'll be back after noon on Monday to let the rental company in to get the furniture."

Sylvester nodded.

After getting into her car Paige made a beeline straight to Scorpion. She saw Cabe's SUV and smiled as she parked in her old spot and walked inside. As soon as the door opened Ferret Bueller began chattering up a storm and running around and around his cage.

Walter looked up and saw Paige and grinned as he stood and stepped out from behind his desk. Paige ran over and jumped into his arms. Cabe hollered from the kitchen, "What is up with your rat Walt? I haven't heard him this excited in a long time." With no reply he walked out of the kitchen and saw Paige in Walter's arms and they were kissing. "Well it's about damn time kid," Cabe was grinning from ear to ear.

Walter returned his grin as he broke the kiss with Paige. "Sorry Cabe, I thought you might like to be surprised."

Cabe stepped over and hugged Paige, "Welcome back kid. How are you doing?"

Paige smiled, "Much better now to be honest." She looked at Walter, "I will have to leave for a while Monday afternoon. I have to meet the rental company over at CP so they can get their furniture and stuff back."

Walter grinned, "Not even back a day and already requesting time off work?"

Paige and Cabe laughed.

Ferret Bueller kept chattering and getting louder. Paige laughed and walked over and opened the cage and the furry little beast ran out of the cage and began climbing up Paige's arm to nuzzle into her neck and hair. "I missed you too," Paige told him softly.

Almost midnight Friday, Walter and Paige, were holding hands as they sat at the small table in the kitchen area of the loft and looking at Ralph sound asleep on the couch in the area designated as the living room. "If I had thought about it I should have gone and bought a single bed for Ralph. Then I could have slept on the couch and you could sleep in my bed," Walter said as he looked over to Paige.

Paige frowned, "Don't want to share your bed with me?"

Walter looked surprised, "It's not that, I just don't want to put you in that position before you are ready."

Paige smiled, "Walter, I'm a big girl. When I asked if you wanted me to stay over this weekend I fully planned to share your bed with you."

Walter smiled as he stood and walked with Paige to his bed.

Paige looked up from her desk as she hung up the phone, "That was Blair diagnostics, I convinced them to meet with us tomorrow morning to discuss a software glitch they have since upgrading their system."

Walter looked up from his desk, "Seriously? I've been trying to get them to agree to a meeting for over a month and you're here on your first day and they agree?" Walter chuckled.

Paige smiled, "It's almost noon, I need to head over to CP and let the rental company get their stuff. Do you need me to do anything before I go or stop some place on my way back?"

Walter shook his head as their phone rang again.

Paige picked up her phone, "Scorpion, Paige Dineen speaking, how can we help you?"

Walter smiled.

Paige covered the mouth piece as she looked up at Walter. "Sylvester wants to know if you can see him in half an hour."

Walter sighed, "That's fine."

Paige nodded as she uncovered the mouth piece, "Walter said that would be fine. Okay." Paige looked up as she hung up, "Would you like me to call the rental company and reschedule so I can be here when Sylvester comes in?"

Walter smiled, "That's very nice of you to offer Paige but its okay."

Paige nodded as she stood up and grabbed her sweater, "We're still on the same page about Flo right?"

Walter nodded quickly, "She's not coming back here, I don't care what Sylvester wants or says."

Paige stepped over to Walter's desk as he stood up before taking her in his arms. "I'm going to miss you," Walter told her before they kissed.

Paige smiled as they separated, "I won't be gone that long. What do you want to do for dinner tonight?"

Walter considered that, "We could grill out at your condo, maybe some shish kabobs?"

Paige smiled, "That sounds wonderful to me. Do you want me to bring anything back for lunch?"

Walter shook his head, "We can go to lunch when you get back if you'd like."

Paige smiled and kissed him again before leaving.

Sylvester got off the bus and slowly made his way to the Garage. He stood on the corner and stared for several minutes before he finally walked over and opened the door. As he stepped in the first thing he noticed was his old desk was now along the north wall just past where Happy's work bench use to sit. He saw Toby's desk was just past it and Happy's rarely used desk was across from it while her work bench was even further back in the Garage. With the monitor tree where it was anyone sitting at the desks would be unable to see Walter's desk and vice versa. Sylvester swallowed hard.

Walter heard the Garage door open and he looked up and saw Sylvester standing just inside staring towards the back of the Garage.

Slowly Sylvester turned his head and saw Walter sitting at his desk working on his computer. The old couch was still in its place and Cabe's desk was now next to it and Paige's desk was still right across from Walter's but now there was no space between them.

"H-Hello Walter," Sylvester said nervously.

Walter had been trying to decide how he wanted to address him. He'd thought about addressing him as Mr. Dodd, but after all the work Paige had put into him he knew that would be passive aggressive. Sly would be seen as too familial and definitely would a message of suggestive of open friendship and he did not want to send that. Walter sighed, Sylvester it would seem to be the address he should use. "Hello Sylvester. Come on over and have a seat," Walter finally said pointing towards a chair beside his desk.

Sylvester slowly walked over and took a seat. Walter closed his laptop and pushed it to the side, "How can I help you Sylvester?"

Sylvester swallowed hard, "Well I first I need to apologize to you for how I acted the last time we were together. I accused you of making Florence fall in love with you. I attacked you and then stormed out of the Garage. Then I was real snotty towards you the next time we met. You were my brother Walter and I forgot that fact. You hadn't done anything wrong towards me and I was a complete ass towards you. I'm really sorry."

Walter nodded, "I accept your apology."

Sylvester smiled, "Paige said you might be willing to offer me a job."

Walter stared at him for a moment and his right hand came down to his desk and he began rolling a pencil back and forth on his desk for a few moments before he snatched it up. "Well to be honest Sylvester, right now work is a little slow. If I hire you back it would be at a 25% reduction in pay until our work load turns around and then we can discuss a performance raise."

Sylvester nodded slowly, "I would be okay with that Walter."

Walter nodded as he looked at his desk, "This isn't negotiable Sylvester, I understand that you and Flo are involved now and that is fine, except, Flo can not come around."

Sylvester nodded, "Paige told me you'd have a problem with her coming back. And she said she didn't want her around either."

Walter nodded, "Paige and I have an appointment in the morning for a job. You can stay here at the Garage and answer phones while we're gone. I'll have a phone at your desk in the morning." Walter extended his hand, "Welcome to Scorpion."

Sylvester nodded as he shook Walter's hand before he got up, "I'll see you in the morning then."

Walter's cell phone rang and he looked down and saw "Love". He smiled and picked up the phone and hit answer, "Hey Paige."

"Walter, I think lunch is going to be a bust. These guys are taking their sweet time getting all of this stuff out of here." Paige was a bit disgusted as she saw the guys taking their fifth break in just over an hour.

Walter smiled, "No worries. Is anyone else there?"

"Happy is here getting the rest of her tools. I haven't seen Toby," Paige told him.

Walter nodded which he realized was really a dumb thing to do as he smiled. "Sylvester apologized and I told him I could only bring him back at a 25% salary reduction. But I told him as jobs picked back up we could discuss a performance raise."

Paige smiled, "What about Flo?"

Walter grinned, "I told him she could not come around. He's going to sit and watch the phones while we go to that meeting tomorrow."

"Sounds good to me, oh look, they are finally coming back after their fifth break. I'll talk with you later Walter," Paige told him.

"See you a little later Paige," Walter hung up.

Paige shook her head and pulled her phone back out and called Cabe.

"Hey Kid, what's up?" Cabe answered his phone.

"Hey Cabe, sorry to bother you, you aren't anywhere near CP are you?" Paige asked.

Cabe took off when the light changed, "Not too far actually, on my way to the Garage, what's up?"

"I am here waiting for these guys from the rental company to get done moving all this stuff out but they are taking a long time and acting a little weird. I'd just feel better if you were here," Paige told him.

Cabe frowned, "No problem, I'll be there in about ten minutes."

"Thank you Cabe," Paige told him before hanging up.

Happy came walking back up as the workmen walked by, "Well I guess I am out of here Paige."

Paige looked back, "Do you mind waiting with me until Cabe gets here? One of them is a little creepy."

Happy nodded, "I hadn't noticed. But they do seem to be taking an awful long time. I don't mind though."

One of the guys came back up, "Hey, we're sorry but we're going to have to come back tomorrow to finish getting the rest of this stuff."

Paige rolled her eyes at Happy. She shook her head as she looked at her watch, "Sorry, but if you guys can't finish in the next thirty minutes you will have to wait until the property managers can come over and let you get the rest of it. You've already taken five breaks and we're over an hour past when you were supposed to have finished."

"Fine, we'll get it done then," the man stormed off.

Happy looked at her tool box, "You mind if I run this out to my truck real quick?"

Paige smiled and shook her head.

*trigger warning*

Happy pulled the wheeled cart out the door and a moment later four of the men walked out carrying chairs from the conference room as Paige coiled up the cables for the printer in her office. The atmosphere of her office suddenly changed, there was no denying it and then the slightly sour smell of someone who hadn't bathed after heavy sweating raft through the air.

Paige froze at first, and then as she heard the man's breath she turned quickly and saw him standing in her doorway leering at her legs. She'd wore the short skirt for Walter's benefit and she became irritated at the situation as she demanded, "What the hell do you want?"

The man grinned, "Can't you guess?"

Happy unlocked the door of her truck and opened the back door as she saw the four men come out carrying chairs from the conference room. She bent down and picked up the tool box from the wheeled cart and slid it into the back of the truck before picking up the cart and put it inside.

As she closed up her truck she saw Cabe driving up and she waved. "Hey kid," Cabe greeted her as he opened the door of his SUV. "How are things going?"

Happy nodded, "Hey Cabe, not too bad other than having to shut down CP. How are you doing?"

Cabe smiled, "Good. Paige called, said she didn't like how the movers were acting."

Happy looked over and saw the four guys were again taking another break and frowned as she looked back up at the office. "Not good," Happy said suddenly and took off running towards the door.

Cabe frowned and took off behind her.

The man had grabbed Paige and was trying to kiss her as the front door opened and Paige kneed him in the crotch and ran past him as he let go of her.

Paige made it out her office door as Happy stepped into the building. The guy grabbed Paige's arm, "Bitch."

Happy's eyes went wide and performed a Mae Geri karate front kick to the guy's stomach breaking his grip on Paige and sending him backwards into the desk in her office.

Cabe pushed past both women and as the guy started to stand up slugged him hard and grabbed his arm and spun him around before slapping his handcuffs on him. He looked back at Paige, "You okay kid?"

Paige nodded as she hugged Happy, "Thanks to both of you I am."
