Chapter 15

Upon all of our group entering the CORE, we made our way immediately to the elevator that was a shortcut to Asgore's place only to find it wasn't working for some odd reason. "Don't worry, I can fix this easily," Alphys said with confidence as she then tinkered with it with some kind of hi-tech machinery until the elevator door opened and we then all entered it at the same time, us emerging in an area of the CORE next to an imposing door. And once we all went inside of it, we saw one final obstacle standing in our way. A rectangular one on a unicycle.

"Mettaton, we don't have time to waste, please get out of our way," I said to him.

"Oh, apologies, darlings, but I can't do that," Mettaton said with a more sinister voice to him. "See, I'm tired of the predictable charade of you and your group. You're too good at this stuff. So now, I'm going to do something eventful," Mettaton said as he snapped his fingers and, out of nowhere, a whole slew of monsters appeared from the darkness around the room, all of them looking like hired mercenaries! There was an Astigmatism, a Whimsum in armor, a very mean-looking Froggit, a giant with a face in his torso, and even a magic guy who had two orbs next to him. "Unless you want to interfere and face off with these chaps, I suggest your friends stay out of this fight we'll have," Mettaton said to us. I frowned, knowing that Mettaton wasn't going to budge at all.

"Guys, stand back for this one. Asriel and I can handle this pompous cube," I smiled.

"Yeah, we'll beat him!" Asriel smirked.

"Oh, darlings, your attacks may be tough with that purity soul, but my body is impossible to penetrate. So what are you going to do?" Mettaton asked as Alphys then looked behind him and smiled.

"Wait, isn't that a mirror back there behind you, Mettaton?" she asked.

"A mirror? Oh, yes, of course. Have to look the best for the audience, after all!" Mettaton said happily and he turned around like an idiot, revealing a large switch on his back that was prime to be flipped. Asriel then flipped it on his own and the other monsters on Mettaton's side looked shocked at that. "Did you. Just flip. My switch?!" Mettaton asked as his body then started to beep and he looked to be suffering from something until, out of nowhere, the place became clouded in smoke and some lights appeared from above us. "OOOH YEEESSS!" Mettaton said as we then saw something shocking. The place where Mettaton's square body once stood... was now occupied by a more human-shaped robot with hair, long and luscious legs, and a much leaner body!

"Oh my! If you flipped my switch, then it appears that it is time for the grand finale! It's still a work in progress, but with this new body, I will make your next living moments... ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!" Mettaton said with enthusiasm as the area around us suddenly gained a stage as well as a bunch of different monsters in it as I heard music starting up around us and Mettaton smirked widely for the cameras.

"Lights! Camera! Action!" he exclaimed. "Are you alive Hotland?!" the crowd then cheered wildly at that as me and Asriel smirked at this. "Let's dance!" Mettaton smirked as he then tried to attack me and Asriel with his legs and his long noodle legs. And then he started to sing.

"~I am the idol everyone loves!
Rise to the top like the flying doves!
Smile for the camera, come look sharp!
Take your soul and break your heart!~" Mettaton sung as he then started on another verse.

"~Drama, Romance, Bloodshed, these tools to the masses I bring!
I'll cross the barrier, soon my salvation I'll sing!~" Mettaton sung as me and Asriel then started to sing.

"~Time to pick up the pace,
the setting sun we race,
We made some promises
Now we are in show biz!
We're gonna stop this war!
Like no one could before!
Just one hurdle remains,
Come on, let's entertain!~" both me and Asriel sung together, switching voices for each part as Mettaton then revealed his soul from the belt on his waist and we then attacked it a bit and Mettaton saw that his ratings were soaring high as his soul then smoked and went back inside of him

"~I must admit, although,
You're making a marvelous show,
Now these games must end,
Now goodbye, my friends
We've grown distant, true
But first thing, I'll do,
When from the ground, I crawl,
I will claim, it, all!~" Mettaton sung as he then attacked us with some disco ball attacks that me and Asriel shot at with the Justice power to make it blue and stay still through blue attacks and hit the disco ball to make the white ones blue. And then everyone in the crowd started to sing along to the music as it got to a pretty sweet part. Even everyone of our friends sung.

"~This is the place where the fame's for everyone!
The people start to sing for all our victory!
We live in a world where our Prince shines like the sun!
We all want to live on the surface happily!

We can't get enough of the simple little things!
And it's great to remember in this final show!
The roar of the fans is almost giving us wings!
So we'll fly to the surface when it's time to go-o-o!~" everyone in the crowd sung, me being surprised by their synchronity... until I saw that there was a teleprompter on the screen with the ratings, which were now up to 7 thousand as Mettaton tried to attack us with his soul again, but we shot at it once more and he lost his arms.

"Gagh! With legs like these, and style like this... who needs arms?!" Mettaton smiled through the shock.

"~I'm warming up, see me shine with such thunderous aplomb!
Things blowing up all around because I've dropped the bomb!~" Mettaton sung as he started to attack me and Asriel with bombs that we had to detonate and then get out of their line of fire with our Justice attacks. I then smirked as me and Asriel sung again as I saw that the time was now 5:23.

"~Our promise must be made!
To mother I will say:
I saved the Underground!
And everyone around!
Today this war will end!
So now, our robot friend!
It's time we end this fight!
See the glamour of the light!~" me and Asriel sung as Mettaton then tried to attack us with his soul for one final hurrah as Asriel and I attacked it again and he sung one final bit.

"~It's nice, to see,
you two are, not weak!
Unlike the six, before,
you can stop, Asgore!
It's been swell, my friends,
but this show must end!
I did my, duty
Now shine with... beauty!~" Mettaton sung out as the ratings went to 13,000 on the board as we finished attacking him and his legs managed to fall off soon after.

"Mettaton! Look at the ratings!" Alphys exclaimed, Mettaton tilting his head at the chart and him gawking.

"Oh my! Look at all these ratings! This is the most amount of viewers my show has ever had! Now one lucky caller will be able to call and speak to me before I go to the surface!" Mettaton smiled as he then got a call and he smiled. "Hi there, you're on TV! What do you have to say on this, our last show?" Mettaton asked... and then I heard a voice I never thought I'd hear. It was Napstablook!

"Oh... h-hi Mettaton... I... I really liked watching your show..." the sad ghost said with a bit of sadness on his end before I then went to Mettaton and sung a small song into the speaker.

"~Hey... you there, Napstablook?
It's me, it's Mute,
I'll ask once more... how are you?~" I sung into it at a slower speed and at a softer tone and me then hearing Napstablook on the other end singing to me as well.

"Gotta be honest, feelin' kinda down...

Was watching you guys going a round...

But if this is the last show...

Then I have to say I'm...~ ... not really feeling up to it right now... sorry, Mute..." Napstablook said, me being surprised at that. He was so upset at Mettaton not doing his shows anymore that he was unable to sing with me like usual!

"Mettaton... I think you should keep performing for the monsters, even after I destroy the barrier, okay?" I smiled, Mettaton looking at me with a sad face and forming a smile soon after.

"Okay... yeah, I'll do that... sorry for worrying you... Blooky..." Mettaton said with a small laugh.

"Blooky... you remembered... cousin..." Napstablook said, me then gasping. Napstablook's cousin who went for fame... was Mettaton! "Thanks Mute... I'd really feel bad... if I couldn't watch Mettaton perform anymore..." Napstablook said with a small chuckle.

"You're welcome, Blooky... that's a very cute nickname, honestly," I smiled at him.

"Heh... okay... I'll hang up now... until next time... cousin Mettaton..." Napstablook smiled as he then hung up and I looked at Mettaton with a smile.

"Alphys... I have a favor to ask of you..." Mettaton said, Alphys approaching him and the other hired help monsters letting her. "Before you go to the castle with Mute... I'd like it if you could stay behind for a bit... and help complete my body... after all, my battery in this form is... inefficient..." Mettaton said with a smile.

"Of course, I'll do that, Mettaton. Me and Sans will fix you up properly," Alphys said with a smile as I looked at Sans and he nodded.

"She's right. If nothing else, I'm good at machines... you and the others go on to the elevator ahead, kids. Besides, your mom is waiting for you, Mute," Sans smiled.

"Yeah... thanks," I smiled at him as I looked at the others in my group with a smirk. Undyne, Toriel, Papyrus, and Tsunderplane. "Let's go to Asgore and tell him that we have a plan for peace," I smiled.

"Yes... let's," Toriel smiled as we then went through the door ahead and down a long hallway until we got to the elevator. We then went into it and I pushed the button that said 'Castle' on it. "So you know, Asriel... it's going to be difficult for me to forgive Asgore's actions... I don't know if I should forgive him for killing those humans before you... but I will try to at least give him a second chance... after all, that's what Mute has done to everyone down here that she possibly could..." Toriel said with a smile as the elevator took us up a very long way.

"I understand, mom... to be honest, it'll be hard for me to speak to dad myself... but mostly because of the memories I had of him... while I was Flowey... he tried to help me out for my first few attempts... but I ended up resetting and now he doesn't know a thing about me when I was Flowey... it happened with you too," Asriel said with a sigh.

"Don't worry, kid. If Mute was able to find forgiveness in you, I'm sure that Asgore can find a way to forgive Toriel! And if that doesn't work, I'll just go with plan B... have Mute or Undyne do it for me," Papyrus smirked.

"Don't say stuff like that, Great Papyrus. After all, the Great Papyrus never fails at anything... especially at cooking that awesome-tacular spaghetti," I smiled.

"Really? You think Papyrus's spaghetti tastes great?" Undyne smirked.

"Yeah, I do. It was one of the tastiest things I'd ever eaten... remember what Papyrus told you in the Waterfall? You know... when you wanted to hunt me down? Good times, huh?" I smiled.

"Yeah, hehe. He said that, when he goes to the surface, you'll help him make a restaurant dedicated to pasta dishes. You know, he actually learned how to cook from me," Undyne smiled.

"You cooking? Why does that terrify me?" I smirked.

"Oh come on, Mute, be nice," Tsunderplane giggled.

"I am. I was just making a joke," I smiled.

"So long as they aren't puns," Papyrus smirked.

"Not on your life, my skeletal friend," I smirked.
