Time skip - Taylor POV
"Come on you's lot. Grubs up" Merle shouted whilst banging on the van door.
I woke up to find myself in the warm embrace of Daryl, our legs entwined and tangled on the sheat and my head resting upon his broad chest. I lazily began to draw invisible patterns on his chest in order to wake him up.
"Hmm I guess this means we need to get up" Daryl said in his deep grumbly morning voice.
I rolled off the bed in a less than graceful manor and put on all my clothes, minus the panties that seemed to have gone missing. Daryl lead there, his arms stretched up over his head, watching me with a loving look as I changed.
"Yah gonna have to stop staring and get dressed otherwise Merle is gonna eat both our portions, well maybe not mine" I said with a giggle, throwing his shirt at him.
He stood from the bed and began to button his shirt, "Hey why don't yah go ahead and make sure that doesn't happen".
I opened the door of the van and began to leave but not before a heft slap was left on my left ass cheek.
"Oi mister" I playfully glared back at Daryl.
As soon as I reached the front of the van all eyes were turned to me, many looked at me with curiosity whilst others held more disdain. I can only imagine the impression my boys have given. They're abrasive and gruff, they don't trust easily and short tempered, and that's when I'm around. Without me they were probably worse, they never knew how to deal with emotions, let alone the emotions that come with grieving.
Despite the glares and stares being sent my way, I held my head high and continued to the fire pit where Glenn was holding a plate out towards me. I took the plate giving a quick thank you and sat myself on the camping chair next to him.
All of a sudden eyes weren't on me but upon the approaching form of Merle Dixon and more importantly the sleek black form of my companion, Jehrico. As much as I was glad the stares were no longer on me, I became worried for the safety of Jehrico, he would never attack another person, not even in self defence he is harmless but people never realise that. Sure if I commanded him to fight back he would but that would lead to both our deaths and I cannot leave my Dixon's again.
"Jehrico" I called him over, in which he responded by plodding over and unceremoniously falling to the floor at Glenn's feet.
I turned to Glenn as a way from distracting myself from the others in the group, never having been good at social interactions, "You know I think he likes you guys more than me". I said giving a fake pout.
Glenn let out a loud laugh, "He's probably just fed up with you. You've been the only person in his life for a while and the apocalypse means he was stuck with your annoying voice for a few months".
In retaliation I gave Glenn a slight smack up the side of his head, enough to jostle him but not hurt, it was just our way of expressing friendship.
"What gave you the right to hit him like that", a shrill voice asked.
"I didn't hit him hard otherwise he would have definitely hit me back. I didn't teach him to fight just so he could be a pussy" I said looking towards the brown haired women chastising me.
"Well don't do it again, it is not a good influence on my boy" she said in a huff clearly upset about not getting a rise out of me.
I stood up and put my empty plate in the washing bowl, finishing standing in front of her, I crossed my arms over my chest and leaned towards her ever so slightly, "Sweetie I am in no way a good influence to any child".
That led to the familiar chuckle of Daryl, coming up behind me and wrapping an arm around my waist whilst resting his chin on my head.
"Damn right yer aint a good influence, how many fights did you get Glenn in after you met"
I gave a look of innocence to him and pouted my lips but was rudely interrupted by Glenn, "Too many. My mother thinks of you as the harlequin that corrupted his lovely Asian son".
"Oh please we never threw the first punch only the last"
Our conversation was clearly being observed by the whole of the camp, clearly intrigued by someone who can be friends with the sweet and innocent Glenn and still be so closely associated with the Dixon's.
Rick came over to the women and took her hand leading her to a seat around the fire pit "Why don't we all get to know each other a little before we decide on whether their a bad influence".
I respected Rick, he may have been handcuffed by fiance but it wouldn't be the first time he's been handcuffed by the police so I led Darly over to my camp chair which he sat on, pulling me into his lap.
"Where's Merle" I whispered,
"He's pissin as far as I'm aware"
The rest of the camp took up places around the fire pit, leaving a chair for Merle only because of my suggestion. I am beginning to think these people are just as close minded as everyone else we have met, thinking we're no good rednecks.
I had already eaten my share of food tonight so I watched as the others helped themselves to the stew that was made by a lady with short buzz cut hair.
"So is anyone going to introduce our new members?" Dale asked whilst giving a pointed glare.
I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, unused to the social interaction.
"This is Taylor Fairserve," Glenn introduced me.
A young blonde women spoke up next, "As in the amazing trapeze artist at the circus".
I blushed at the attention, you would have thought by now I would be used to the attention my career got me but it was just not in my nature.
"Umm yeah"
"Wow you're truly amazing, you throw knives whilst in the air and are amazing with a bow" the blonde, who I now know is called Amy, praised.
"That explains why she is attracted to the redneck with an obsession with arrows" a gruff curly haired cop mumbled.
"I'd watch your mouth if I were you, that redneck happens to be one of my fiances" I said, gearing up for a fight. I would already be punching him if Glenn wasn't sending me a look to say, 'don't you fucking dare'.
"Wait, one of your fiances? You have more than one" The angry cop shouted across the fire pit. But before I could answer my other Dixon appeared and just in time for what I expected to be a bloodbath.
Merle sat in the seat next to Daryl, lifting me from my comfortable spot on Daryl and into his lap, with my feet still resting in Daryl's. I shifted to get myself comfortable, my head gently resting on Merle's shoulder. I looked back to Daryl to give an apology for my sudden departure, although it was not necessary, neither brother got jealous because they knew I loved them both equally and to the bottom of my heart. Daryl noticed this and clearly and just nodded in clear understanding. I let out a relieved sigh when Merle gently took my chin in his hand and turned my face towards him so he could grace my lips with a comforting kiss.
"YOU'RE WITH BOTH OF THEM" the man from before shouted whilst looking at the stunned faces around the campfire.
"Shane calm down" Rick said, gently placing his hand on Shane's shoulder in an attempt to settle his friends temper.
Shane shook Rick's hand off "CALM DOWN. CALM DOWN. I TOOK HER AS AN IDIOT NOT A WHORE."
Unfortunately this was not the best case in action as not only did my temper flare at the insult but so did my boys and Glenn's. I stood up from my place in their laps and took two threatening strides towards Shane. I clenched my left hand into a fist and geared back my arm, releasing it to slam into his face.
"Let's get one thing right here, I am in no way a whore. I have had two consensual partners my whole life and it is those two stood behind me. Those 'filthy rednecks' that saved me from my foster families grasp, from myself. Those two men that made me whole again. That makes me feel something other than anger and sadness. Those men asked me to Marry them because they couldn't imagine their lives without me". That said I stormed away from the volatile situation, rather unlike me, with Jehrico on my heels and into my camper.
POV - Glenn
I walked up calmly to Shane who was just getting up from the floor holding the right side of his face and I threw a punch to his left.
"You should know she doesn't normally walk away after only one punch. Be glad she seems to want to stay with this group or you would be in a whole in the ground." I said whilst walking to the camper.
POV - Merle
I stood there proud of my little spitfire putting Shane to the ground and was even more proud when chinaman also stood up for her throwing one of his powerful yet rare punches. But I couldn't resist the urge to hurt the man who insulted my fiance, the woman I loved so I walked up to the man on the ground and gave him a swift kick in the ribs, finishing off by heading towards the campervan.
POV - Daryl
I knew as soon as the words were out his mouth, shit would hit the fan and surprisingly it did. I watched the scene unfold with unrestrained anger and strode up to Shane and spat on him before joining my brother, fiance and friend in the forest green campervan.
