Chapter 2: Betrayal

[A few moments before Ahsoka and Rex were speaking on the bridge]

Maul was walking about in his cell, anxious because he knew that at any moment it would happen. His old master's plan, the one where Maul blindly played his part until he was cast out... forgotten. In a way, he was jealous it wasn't him by his master's side and that made him furious. The Dathomirian felt the Dark Side stronger than ever before but as he was feeling it he noticed the Force go silent. "Now is my time to escape," said Maul.

Maul focused his anger and rage for Darth Sidious and destroyed the door to his cell but as maul was focusing Darth Sidious contacted had the clones outside of his cell and gave them the infamous order. Maul broke out and the clones started blasting. The Old Sith Lord skillfully dodged the blaster bolts and used the force to choke the clones and push them back.

In one of the dead clone's hand, was the holoprojector still on and flickering, with Sidious still there as he watched his old apprentice break out. Maul took the holoprojector and the two stared each other down.

Maul growled and crushed the holoprojector with his hand and ran off to find a way off the Venator.

[Back in the bridge to Ahsoka and Rex]

Jesse and the other troopers and clone officers in the bridge grasped their heads as if they had a headache. "Good Soldiers... Follow Orders, Good Soldiers Follow Orders" Jesse said to himself.

Rex was struggling and dropped to his knees. "Good Sol- NO!... I... have to resist... follow orders. NOOOO!"

Jesse puts on his helmet and draws his pistols, "Kill... the Jedi," he slowly raises his pistols but before he can fire, Ahsoka uses the Force to throw him over to the right against the window of the bridge and below into the crew.

"Commander... what..." said Rex still on his knees, shocked.

Ahsoka slices the other troopers blasters and throws them both simultaneously to the left and right of the bridge.

The other troopers and clone officers began to fire on Ahsoka, who grabbed Rex's hand, who is in shock, and pulled him towads the door, while deflecting the blaster fire coming from the clones. Ahsoka manages to get to the area of the bridge where the holotable is located, and stands on it, deflecting blaster fire. She manages to close the door and locks the clones in the bridge. "Get this door opened!" said Jesse barking orders at the other clones.

"Rex! Hey! I need you focused, we need to get out of here but we need a plan. Rex!" cried Ahsoka. She was reluctantly trusting him because of the fact that he did not attack her and because of the long history they had.

"I'm... alright commander." Rex shook of the shock he had, put on his helmet and drew his blasters. "Come on lets get out of here."

Rex and Ahsoka ran out of the bridge and almost as soon as they left the bridge Jesse and the other clones got the bridge door open. The ARC Trooper looked around and assumed that since Commander Rex was not dead he joined the Jedi. He turns his on comm to contact all troopers. "This is ARC Lieutenant Jesse I am issuing an ATL on Commander Rex, the Commander is aiding the fugitive Jedi. Kill the Jedi men, and capture the Commander he is a traitor to the Republic!"

Ahsoka and Rex were trapped in a hallway surrounded on both sides by the troopers who wore the very same markings on their helmets that were on Ahsoka's forehead.

Ahsoka was blocking every bolt back at the troopers. Meanwhile behind her, Rex was blasting at his brothers. You could see the pain through his helmet, but under his helmet, there were tears running down his face. Rex hated having to kill his own brothers, he knew what they were doing was wrong but that didn't make it hurt any less.

Once Ahsoka and Rex took out the clones they took out a holoprojector and planned out their route of escape. "Our first problem is that the ship is still in hyperspace, we need to go to the engine room blow the hyperdrive, it will cause the ship to drop out of hyperspace." said Ahsoka

"The next trick is that we need a ship to get out of here, escape pods won't do, we need to jump out of here or else they'll chase after us. So we would need to get the bay doors open or go through the lower hangar." Rex suggested.

"Alright you get to the hangar and find us a ship, I'll blow the hyperdrive, and Rex. Don't worry, I know we'll get out of this." Ahsoka said, placing her hand on his shoulder and smiled.

With a plan in mind, the duo went through a blast door where they would separate soon after. However, when they opened the door a tall, dark, and horned figure was there.

"MAUL!" shouted Ahsoka.
