A/N: Hey, guys! Previously, Rayman visited the Minisaurus Plain and will now go to the Fairy Glade to save Ly.

Chapter 3: The Fairy Glade

Arriving at the Fairy Glade, Rayman found a Yellow Lum while talking to Murfy.

''Those two suns look like eyes watching you, you know? I don't know why, but they make me nervous.'' Murfy said, referring to two white suns in the sky. They were two yellow dwarf stars, one large, closer, and one smaller and more distant.

''Well, ours is a binary system, and Ly told me it's not uncommon for solar systems to have two or more stars.'' Rayman replied.

''Anyway, at the Fairy Glade you have to find eighty Yellow Lums and save ten Familiar spirits.'' Murfy said.

Rayman dived into the water and dived, finding three more Lums and saving the first Familiar spirit, then returned to dry land and found two baby Globoxes in front of a closed gate.

''Hurry up, Rayman! We want our dad!'' they shouted.

''The gate is closed. We'll need a switch to open it.'' Murfy said.

Jumping on a mushroom, Rayman clung to a tree limb and reached the other side, taking two more Lums, and saw some toxic, piranha-infested water.

''What the?! What are piranhas doing here?!'' Rayman exclaimed.

''The destruction of the Heart of the World has caused an increase in the number of piranhas and zombie chickens, and now piranhas infest various bodies of water. I advise against swimming in this greenish water, it's toxic. There is a Red Lum nearby. If you are injured, they can restore your health. '' Murfy explained.

After taking another Yellow Lum and freeing the second Familiar spirit, the limbless hero found a sleeping green pirate. Murfy began to whisper to him so as not to wake the robot.

''Watch out, there's a Robo-pirate nearby. The green pirates are the weakest, then there are the purple ones, the yellow ones and finally the red ones. They often have a Red Lum with them. Remember to move sideways to dodge their blows.'' said the insect.

After a first shot, the pirate was hit and woke up and tried to hit Rayman with his shot, but he dodged the shot and hit him with a flying kick in the face, destroying him. Then he punched the switch with his fist, opening the gate, found four Yellow Lums and saved the third Familiar spirit. Beyond the gate, he found a Lum of another color.

''Hey, look! A Green Lum! If something bad happens to you, like falling into a ravine, lava or toxic water, you will go back to where you got the last one. Don't get cocky though: if you take too much damage, you will die for real.'' Murfy warned.

Shortly thereafter, they found and defeated another green pirate, and found themselves in front of a water-polluting machine, no doubt built by pirates, and Rayman could do nothing to destroy it. So he went up to a floating platform on the water to get a Yellow Lum and two Red Lums, but three more Yellow Lums were next to another Purple Lum with a ring attached, and he couldn't grab it because he lacked one of his powers. Climbing on some pistons, he saw a passage and threw himself into it. Then, he confronted a green pirate and climbed the vines of a tree, finding 8 Yellow Lums in the process, slipped off a waterfall and saw a small pirate base, where he found three yellow Lums and saved the fourth Familiar spirit, then climbed up more climbs, taking two more Lum. He also noticed a strange map with a rain cloud, but ignored it, and after seeing another passage, he dropped himself and continued his journey to the pirate fortress.

Night had already come. A green pirate saw that Rayman had arrived at the fortress, and tried to throw fire barrels at him. One of them hit him, knocking him off, and he saw a small yellow mushroom, but he immediately ignored it.

''Rayman! There is a trap door here! Lure the pirate to shoot there! '' Murfy shouted.

The hero positioned himself over the hatch and the trick worked. He landed in front of platforms on the greenish water and jumped over them in the helicopter.

''A spider web. Looks like I can hang on to it.'' thought Rayman, who scrambled up the cobweb avoiding the barrels of dust. He had entered the fortress, and saw the stairs to the floor below, but a purple pirate flipped the switch, activating blue lasers. Rayman found five more Yellow Lums and confronted two green pirates, then took a barrel of powder and threw it first at a door with a band-aid, finding four Yellow Lums and the cage with the fifth Familiar spirit, and then at a pipe, causing a ladder to lower metallic. He then found six more Yellow Lums and defeated a green pirate and the purple pirate next to the switch. It was stronger and more resilient, hitting him a couple of times, but it wasn't anything particularly difficult. After flipping the switch, turning off the lasers, Rayman took three yellow Lums and walked down the stairs, feeling that Ly was close.

Familiar spirits saved: 5/10, total 6/80

After descending the stairs, Rayman passed lasers, defeated a green pirate and found himself in front of a large room. Going down a ladder, he took two Yellow Lums and checked some cabins. Eight of these were open, and he found a Lum for each of them, and also freed a Familiar spirit. At the same time, he heard an electric sound, and saw Ly, trapped in a force field.

''Free me, Rayman! Find the machine and destroy it! '' He said.

After taking another Yellow Lum, Rayman moved on and found the machine trapping Ly. After saving the seventh Familiar spirit, he took a barrel and fired at one of the three patches, then another and the last, destroying the machine, then immediately ran back, where he found Ly, free.

"Ly .. are you OK?'' he asked.

''Oh, Rayman! I was afraid Globox wouldn't make it.'' said the fairy.

''Yet he did it. He gave me the Silver Lum, but we got separated. I have to find him and defeat the pirates. To do that, however, I would need all my powers.'' explained the limbless hero.

"I'm sorry, Rayman, but I'm too weak to give you back all your powers.'' Ly said. She felt bad about letting him down in such a desperate situation, but that was the harsh reality.

''Oh. Don't tell me... '' Rayman began, before she interrupted him.

''Yes. You already know that the pirates have shattered the Heart of the World into 1000 Yellow Lums.''

''I know that. In the meantime, I have also saved some Familiar spirits. Murfy told me there are 80 scattered here and there. You know them, don't you?''

''Those Familiar spirits are my friends. Thanks for saving some of them, Rayman. Every time you find ten, your defenses will improve. However, as the Heart of the World has been destroyed, I have become weakened, and it is very difficult now to put the energy back together. But don't worry, there is another solution.''

''Okay, shoot.''

''Have you ever heard of Polokus?'' Ly asked.

Rayman was confused. He had never heard of him. ''Uhhh... no.''

Polokus is the creator spirit of the world, and as such, his power is immense. It might help you defeat the pirates, but unfortunately, he isolated himself for a long time. However, according to a legend, we could bring him back if you gather the Four Masks.'' said the fairy.

''The Four Masks?'' Rayman was curious now.

''These masks are magical and very powerful, and are infused with the power of one element: Water, Earth, Fire and Air. They are hidden in secret and mysterious places, but the pirates are also looking for them. Polokus didn't want the masks to be stolen, so he created guardians to protect them, each with specific weaknesses that only a true warrior could discover. You have to find them before they do, they're our only chance. I will help you by giving you all the energy I have gathered. It's not much, but it's enough to power up your Magic Fist.'' Ly explained, who emitted a Silver Lum from her hands.

''A Silver Lum? Will I have a new power?'' Rayman wondered as he absorbed it.

''Now you can hold on to purple Lums, like the one above you.'' Ly said.

''Thanks, Ly! Just what I needed.'' said the hero, happy to have regained one of his powers.

''I'll let you know when I've built up enough energy to give you another Silver Lum. Globox should still have one, but I'm not sure. Good luck, Rayman!'' the fairy then used her powers to get out.

At the end of the conversation, Rayman used his magic fist and noticed that the sphere of energy was now larger, and silver in color instead of white, and climbed a ladder, fired at the Purple Lum, swung to the other side, took three Yellow Lums and he climbed between two pipes, and then fell onto another pipe.

Yellow Lums found: 55/80, total 80/1000

Familiar spirits saved: 7/10, total 8/80

Landed on the pipes, Rayman smelled a nauseating smell. ''Ugh, what's this stench?'' he thought.

However, thanks to the Silver Lum he had received, it took little to take down a green pirate, and even the purple ones were no big deal, and gliding from tube to tube with the helicopter, he took four Yellow Lums and destroyed a cage, freeing the Familiar spirit inside. At the end, he followed a trail of five Lums and saw some strange air currents.

''Rayman, do you see those air currents?'' Murfy asked.

''Yes, I see them. Do you think I can do something about it?'' Rayman asked.

''If you activate the helicopter inside them, you will fly.'' explained the fly.

Murfy was right: using the helicopter in air currents made it fly upwards. From time to time, he was attacked by parachuting pirates, but nothing much. Passing from one current to another, he found thirteen Yellow Lums and saved a Familiar spirit, which alongside the other nine already freed, emitted a magical sphere, which Rayman absorbed.

''I feel stronger.'' he said.

''It seems the spirits you saved have strengthened your defense. Look for them and save them all!'' Murfy said.

Rayman found and destroyed another cage, from which a Teensie emerged.

''Rayman! Thanks for saving me! Listen carefully: the pirates have captured a lot of Teensies you need to free. When you free one of us, we will return to the Teensie Circle, and from there, you can return to an area already visited through a magical spiral door. The order is from left to right.'' said the Teensie. Soon after, he told Rayman to imitate his movements and do a little dance to open the spiral door, and they went inside.
