A/N so this is a new story sparked from some ideas I've had after watching Heroes for the first time. By far the best character is Sylar and it's pretty sad it got cancelled but really from a writer's perspective it makes sense why. Anyways here's my take on what would happen if Deadpool kills the marvel universe had Sylar as the main baddie killing everyone told in a daytripper-esque fashion. Enjoy. Chapter 1: Stark
Of all the people to choose from, true power came from him. Not with abilities or combat skills, but money. All that wealth, that was the greatest power of all. To be honest, I thought he would be one of the more tricky ones to track down. How wrong I was, when I found out his company Stark Industries has its own little building.
As I approached the doors, I caught a glance at one of the employees loading up a truck further up the street. I took the opportunity, and borrowed the clothes from the sad pathetic nobody.
"Hey, uh I have this form needs to fill out, is there any chance I can get him to sign?" I asked the security guard on the ground floor of the building, he gave an annoyed look as he made a call up to Stark's office.
I waited there for a few minutes, only to have my plans disrupted by a woman coming downstairs on his behalf. His assistant Pepper came down to sign, but this turned out to be a blessing in disguise. After getting a good, long look at her I figured out that she was more than just some woman to Stark, she was involved with him. Which meant I had leverage if something were to happen to her.
"Hi, I'm Pepper Potts, Mr. Stark's assistant, I'll be signing on my bosses behalf" she smiled at me as she held out her hand to get the form, her pen in the other. I complied with what she wanted, and she was indeed beautiful. Those long red curls of hers, freckles along her cheeks. I could see why Stark liked her, she was one of those no-nonsense types.
"And there you are, have a nice day" she told me as she handed back to me the form, she walked off back up to head office. I kept my composure as I headed outside, I started to think of a new plan, one involving a certain someone as a bargaining chip.
I waited outside Stark industries in a nearby alley way, as I watched his assistant leave the building and get into her car. I hot wired a car of my own, and followed her from behind until she got home. To avoid suspicion, I parked the car further down the street, and followed her on foot instead.
She opened the door to her place, I watched her as she turned to see if anyone was behind her. She was a clever girl, but she didn't notice me. She stepped inside, shutting the door behind her. I waited a few minutes before going inside myself, I avoided appearing through the windows at any chance I got as I made my way over to the door. I slowly opened it, stepping inside and locking it behind me.
I could hear the shower running as she didn't hear me come in. I bided my time, as I looked about the place. She kept pictures of herself and her boss at events on the mantle. I touched a few of them, as I saw a vision of that night, the two of them slow dancing the night away, how romantic. The clock she had in her kitchen was off by about 2 minutes, so I carefully took it off from the wall, as I adjusted it from the back.
That clever girl caught on that somone was in the house, as I heard her calling the police from the bathroom. I rushed over to see her there, a bit exposed, with her phone in her hands. I sent it flying with my ability and closed the door behind me.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" she looked scared, she backed away from me. But it occured to her that she had a plunger she could break the bottom off and use as a weapon. I let her throw a hit my way, as I let her watch the wound heal itself after impact.
"You're a fighter Ms. Potts, but there's someone you're close to that I want, and you know him far better than I do" I told her plainly as I used my ability to push her away from her phone, as I held it in my hand. I smiled, this was all too simple.
"What do you want with Tony? Who are you?" she seemed so fragile, it was pitiful to see her in such a state.
"I'm Sylar, and your boss Tony has got something I want. His mind, all that power. As for you, I don't need you anymore. So this is farewell Ms. Potts," I told her as I sliced open her mind with my ability. Those screams never get old after all this time.
I left a little message for Stark, including the delightful sound of his plucky little assistants screams.
I woke up the next day, after staying in a hotel a block away from Stark's building. I took note of Stark's number off of that women's phone, as I left it back at her place.
I headed outside, as I called Stark on a nearby payphone.
"This is Stark industries how can we help you?" that customer service spoke through the phone, I always hated that voice, so plain and ordinary.
"I'd like to speak to Mr. Stark please" I said, polietly.
"I'm sorry is busy at the moment, please wait as I transfer you to another associate" the voice told him,
"It's about his darling Ms. Potts" I coyly added, I imagined the look on the customer service ladies face, it amused me to see her terror.
"One moment please sir" the voice replied, I heard mutterings coming from the other line until I heard his voice. Tony Stark answered the phone.
"Hello this is Tony" his voice said, in its gruff tone.
"Hello Stark, it's about time I heard from you" I answered,
"So who are you then? What do you know about my assistant?" his concern came through in his voice, all that confidence dripping from it like honey.
"I just want to have a little chat with you Stark, let me into your little office and I'll explain everything, the name's Sylar" I responded coyly as I felt like I held Stark's life in my hands, just as I held his little mistresses.
"Sylar huh? Why don't you just tell me everything and I'll call the cops for you, you bastard" Stark's tone grew harsh, I half smiled. He was telling the truth, I could feel it.
"Well Mr. Stark what good would that do for your darling assistant if I did that? You'd never be able to catch me with just a name alone" I toyed with him, I listened as he grunted at the remark.
"Fine. I'll let you up, be here by four sharp or I'll hunt you down myself" he told me, as he abruptly hung up on me.
I walked up to Stark Industries once again, and strolled inside to the security desk.
"Can I help you?" the guard asked, this one was different than yesterday, lucky.
"I'm Sylar mr. Stark's four o'clock" I smugly said, the guard looked on list he had on his desk. He nodded to me, as I headed over to the elevators.
Top floor of course, I strolled out the elevator to Stark's office. I walked inside, as one of Stark's other lesser assistant shut the door behind me.
"You" Stark said, as he brandished part of his iron man suit on his arm as he took a shot at me. I dodged it, using my ability I disarmed Stark from his weapon. Stark fought back as he activated the full iron man suit, transforming himself to full metal mode. I shot out a few blasts of electricity, just as Elle taught me all of those months ago, rendering Iron man's suit rather glitchy. I took a chance and got closer to him, with a touch of my finger his suit became a stiff block of gold. Stark struggled inside the contraption, whiggling around inside. I could hear his shouts from inside, as his operation system bugged out. I turned around to see a man standing behind me. He had a stone in his forehead, a strange red complection and a human-like body.
Before he could attack I sent out a surge of electricity rendering him incapasitated. I walked over to him, I could see everything. He was like computer code incarnate. I sent out a stronger surge of electricty making him immobile. I walked back over to Stark as the gold casing started to crack on the outside. I helped Stark, as I cracked the gold with my ability. I grabbed hold of Stark, as the lack of oxygen kept him weak.
"It's shame to see you like this Stark, I thought you'd put up more of a fight than this. I guess this is farewell, don't worry, your friends the avengers will join you soon enough" I told him as I used my ability to cut into Stark's mind, his screams echoing through the room. I took a look inside his mind, to see all that potential, the sheer intelligence brimming from him.
I had what I wanted, so I moved on. But not before I took that little stone from that strange man's forehead. I wouldn't say I'm a sentimentalist, but I got the feeling that this stone was important in some way.
Tony Stark and the vision, two heroes from the avengers. Hereos dedicated to saving people, and fighting crime. Powerless, and defeated. Tony Stark died at the age of 48 without an heir to Stark industries as he joined his beloved secretary in the afterlife.
