A/N hey guys, here's the next part for the story. I orginally wanted to cover Captain America first but then I realized I haven't watched the first avenger in forever so I wouldn't be accurate until I watch it again. So instead I chose the fantastic four next. This will be loosey based on the movie (which I've heard aren't great) so we'll see. Thanks for reading :) Any comments/criticism is appreciated. Edit: fixed grammar issues.

Chapter 2: Four

In my quest for new abilities, I grew a bit nostalgic so I took a quick trip back to Issac Mendez's place. That empty space, all those paintings and seeing Issac drop to his knees as I cut open into his mind made me think of all that power stored away in him. I walked over towards the center of the room, that large mural on the floor made me curious. How would it end? I thought.

But something else caught my attention as I happened to see a painting stored in the corner of the room next door. It had a plastic covering over it, so I ripped it off. I examined it to see it splattered with blood. With a few figures I've never seen before lying there dead on the ground. One looked like a bunch of rocks, the other looked like a man with his entrails spread along the floor, one was a woman and the last one was just a ball of fire shaped like a man. I was there too, painted in blood as I stood over their bodies.

Nothing else about them rang familiar, they looked like superheroes though. The only indicator as to who these individuals were was the symbol painted in the sky. The number four. That's all I had to go on. A four.

I sighed, as I snapped a picture of the painting and made my way out. I caught the nearest bus and headed towards the subway. I looked at that picture multiple times, trying to find some kind of symbol or word besides that stupid four in the sky. The street signs were blurred out, the painting depicted it at night. The buildings blended into the background and there was no signage anywhere in the picture.

In my distraction, I hadn't noticed what was going on, on the tv screens behind me. Until I heard applause, I turned to look at the screen.

FANTASTIC FOUR SAVE LOCALS FROM CAR ACCIDENT ON BROOKLYN BRIDGE.

One of the heroes was talking on the screen about their heroic action, he seemed rather snobby and a bit of a narcissist. I didn't catch exactly what his ability is, but one thing's for sure I wasn't going to let them out of my grasp.

I searched around aimlessly for where these so-called heroes were staying. I came up empty on that front, considering the media didn't really release any real names or addresses. Until I saw it, from above, a giant four beaming into the sky. I smirked to myself, it was all too perfect.

I ran after the signal, as I happen to make my way towards Jamaica over in Queens. It took a while and I exhausted myself to get there. Then I saw it, some guy in a cape and mask being taken down by the four of them. I watched from the sidelines as this large stone man tossed a bus, this other man stretched incredibly far and a woman turned herself invisible. Then from above I caught a glimpse of the guy from before flying from above, like a shooting star he was completely made of fire.

With a flick of my fingers, I threw the caped guy to the ground. The four turned to see who did it, and well I guess I couldn't hide forever. I stepped out into the light, as I took down each hero one by one.

The rock man was the first to go, all I had to do was toss him around until his little rock pieces came apart. Unfortunately, he wouldn't be able to give me that good of an ability, his mind was all rock so there was nothing I could salvage of worth. I tossed him into the distance, he probably ended up by the dumpsters for all I care.

The elastic, stretchy man made his way toward me. He wrapped himself around my torso, choking me as I stood there. I used my abilities to blast him, I used my voice to project out a loud enough sound to push him away from me. I didn't last for long as my oxygen stayed cut off, in a last ditch effort I tried pushing my arms loose. I couldn't manage to move them more than an inch so instead I focused my fingers on creating an incision on his forehead. This seemed to get him to back off, as he loosed his grip around me.

I got loose and continued to use my telekinetic ability to dodge attacks from the woman. I supercharged my hands as I sent out electricity blasts at the woman, she avoided them by creating a barrier around herself. After some careful consideration, I restructured my approach. If I was going to be them, I need to see all that they could do first. Those gears, all the little bits and pieces. What makes them tick. So, I baited them, I would intentionally send out blasts to see their reactions to it.

From what I could gather, the fire guy can only do just that. The woman of the group could create force fields and turn invisible and the other guy could stretch any part of his body. It seemed simple enough to take them down, but all at once wasn't looking like the best option. I needed to take out the strongest one first.

The next one that needed to go was the fire one, regenerating from burning to death had been the most painful in my opinion. I hated his smugness anyway, the guy had it coming. I used my ability to fly as I led the fire idiot over towards the water tower. He kept blasting me from behind, fireball after fireball.

I stopped just in front of the water tower, I watched as he kept blasting again, racing straight towards me. I simply pointed my fingers and sent a wave of water right in his direction. The pathetic man fell straight down after that hit.

I took my chance and dived straight towards him, grabbing him from mid air. I held him, and dropped him down on a nearby roof. I sliced open his mind before he got the chance to get up again. I didn't have long to check out everything, so I kept my examination quick.

I could hear the others coming, so I quickly flew off into a nearby alley. Luckily I did get some use from that arrogant man. I activated my new ability straight away, it was agonizing at first until that tingling sensation became rather pleasant.

I headed back into the air, this time I was completely aflame. This little bit of trickery worked as the team seemed rather calm at my approach. I took this chance to light a ring of fire around them, trapping them inside. I flew down to meet them on the ground.

"Who are you? What have you done to Johnny and Ben?" The woman called out to me as she sent out a wave of attacks at me. I managed to dodge them more easily this time, I sauntered towards them.

"It's simple, I want your abilities" I told them plainly as the stretching man made his way over to me again. This time I directly aimed for his mind with a combination of fire and electricity at him.

The stretch man fell to the ground, I took this opportunity to hold down his limbs with my telekinesis but the woman sent another wave of attacks at me that I lost my balance. I pushed against her forcefield, as I got closer to them. The woman made a forcefield around the man, I tried breaking it with everything I had but couldn't budge it. Until I saw it. She cared about him, tears were streaming down her face.

I could finally see it. All I had to do was break him, then she would be mine. I used my telekinesis to lift the man's head as I made the incision on his mind. The woman held her shield up, but in her moment of weakness she broke it to go save her lover. I made the full cut right in front of her, she tried keeping me away but her strength had finally gone out.

"Don't worry, I'll make good use of your abilities" I reassured her, as I cut her open too. Both their bodies laid there on the concrete, in her last moment she held onto that man's hand. How sweet. I crouched down to inspect them as I finally took on both of their abilities.

The caped man from before approached me, he stood over the bodies of what remained of the fantastic four. I stood to greet him, he kept a bit of a distance from me.

"Who are you?" the man asked me, internally I started laughing. The man looked absolutely ridiculous, I couldn't help it.

"Sylar" I told him, the man didn't seem to recognize who I was. That did bother me a little, but I didn't think he'd be a nuisance for very long.

"You killed them all, just like that. How did you do that?" the man asked me through his ridiculous mask. I started to clean off some of the blood from my hands.

"I have abilities of my own. Who are you?" I asked the masked man, he straightened his stance as soon as I asked him.

"I am Doctor Doom" he pronounced out loud, I couldn't help the laughter anymore as I genuinely laughed out loud, which I haven't done in so long.

"Oh? And what exactly can you do?" I asked him, Doctor Doom didn't seem pleased by my reaction to his ridiculous name that he looked ready to fight me.

"Energy projection. Like this" Doctor Doom sent out a variety of blasts my way. I used one of my newly acquired abilities, the forcefield, to block his little attack. With one hand I sent him flying again, this time directly into a building. I quickly got over to where he laid there on the ground trapping him in a forcefield. I kept him inside as I sent fire directly into the bubble, burning his armor directly onto his skin.

His screams of anguish filled my ears, as I heard the metal sizzling on his skin as his flesh melded into the metal. After a while the screaming stopped, so I let go of the forcefield. I got close to him, as I carefully removed his helmet to see his face. His face looked like a meat puddle when I pulled it out of its metal shell. I checked his head to see if I could at least salvage his ability. Unfortunately, I barbecued him too well down to be operated on, so he remained a human meat puddle on the ground, his ability forgotten along with the rest of him.

The fantastic four made their mark as valued astronauts and superhero villains out to stop crime. Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Ben Grimm, Johnny Storm and Victor Von Doom met their unfortunate demise just as they reached their climatic confrontation that would determine the safety of New York itself. The uncertainty of New York's safety left residents feeling a sense of unease, as Sylar walked off into the night, on the hunt for new victims.
