Anyway, in the previous chapter, Rayman managed to escape an ambush by Razorbeard in the Precipice and saved the baby Globoxes trapped in the mines. Now he has to find and destroy the second generator. Let's begin.

Chapter 13: Towards the Factory

(''Eastern Palace-The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds OST'')

Rayman reached a forest, where he glimpsed a series of fortresses, with some red pirates watching over the area. With a series of kicks, punches and his helicopter, he destroyed one of them.

''There's a passage here that should lead to an underground fortress, but the door is locked. To open it, you have to hit the four switches hidden in the area. You also need to find seventy Yellow Lums and save eight Familiar spirits.'' said Murfy.

The limbless hero took three Lums and entered a fortress, where he saw a yellow pirate and hit it with a fully charged Magic Fist, seriously damaging it, and then struck it with a flying kick in the face, destroying it, and also defeating a another pirate, a red one this time, and went down a staircase that led him into what appeared to be a reading room, where he faced another red Henchman 800, which hit him a few times with its missiles because he had no space to dodge, but was defeated. Rayman then found seven more Yellow Lums, rescued two Familiar spirits and hit the first switch, then took the elevator and jumped on floating platforms to reach the other side of a ravine, then took a Yellow Lum and reached another area of the huge fortress, where he found the second switch. Returning to the starting point, he entered somewhere else, defeating a yellow Henchman 800 and hitting the third switch, found three Yellow Lums and fell in a couple of passages that led him to a grassy area next to a small pond of water in which he dived, finding two Lums, saving the third Familiar spirit and hitting the last switch.

''It seems to be the last switch. The door should open.'' said Murfy.

Returning to the other side of the water, Rayman saw a plum and entered a room on the right, where he saw a pirate-gorilla.

''Throw the plum into his mouth! He won't be able to act when he chews it, and you can use it to go up!'' Murfy exclaimed.

The limbless hero followed his advice and used the pirate-gorilla to climb a net and get out, then entered the door he had opened, and saw a sign, saying: ''Go down to reach the Echoing Caves. Attention: acid rivers!'', then he let himself fall.

Saved Familiar spirits: 3/8, total 55/80

Rayman fell into a cave full of acid, and using a barrel, he destroyed the door behind him, saving a Familiar spirit and finding three Yellow Lums.

''Do you remember what happened with the torch when we were at the Menhir Hills?'' asked Murfy.

''No, I don't remember. What do I have to do to get through that acid?'' asked the hero, who was doubtful about what to do.

''The gunpowder inside the barrel burns when you place it on a torch's flame. Use it to fly the other way.'' replied the greenbottle.

Rayman placed the barrel on the flame and flew to a small tower, taking eight yellow Lums and saving the fifth Familiar spirit, then flew again, taking another nine Yellow Lums, ending in front of a pirate-gorilla who he deceived and used a third barrel to press a switch, finding three more Lums, then went back and entered through a door.

Yellow Lums found: 43/70, total 653/1000

Saved Familiar spirits: 5/8, total 57/80

Rayman went down the stairs that led him to the depths of the caves. Using a barrel, he saved the sixth Familiar spirit, which strengthened his defense, and took two Yellow Lums, then took eight more by flying into a tunnel using the barrel, then saved a Familiar spirit and went through other long tunnels where he found the last seventeen Lums. and he also saved the eighth and final Familiar spirit, who improved his defense, after landing in a small fortress using the helicopter.

''The second generator is down here! Watch out for the Ninja Henchman!'' Murfy warned.

(''Mini-Boss- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker OST'')

The Ninja Henchman was tougher and faster than the previous one, hitting Rayman at least a dozen times with its shots or its hook, but all the spirits that he had saved had made him stronger, allowing him to resist the blows, and after a long clash, pushed it into the lava pools and destroyed the generator, then saving the trapped Teensie.

(''Mini-Boss- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker OST-s'')

When the limbless hero had arrived, night had fallen, and the two used a magic spiral door to leave and return to the Stone Circle.

Yellow Lums found: 70/70, total 680/1000

Saved Familiar spirits: 8/8, total 60/80

''Fantastic! Now that you've destroyed the generators, the laser that were blocking the access to the factory have been disabled. To reach the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava, look for a mine located inside the factory, it will take you to the swamp. The sanctuary is located on the other side of the swamp, and the third mask is located in its depths.(1)'' said the Grand Minimus, happy that Rayman had opened the factory doors.

''I got it. Factory, mine, swamps, sanctuary.'' replied Rayman.

Ly has something to tell you. Join her in one of her favorite places to meditate. You can find her in the small cave nearby, at the stele near Globox's house, or at her home in the East Plain.''

So, Rayman headed for the cliff to go to Ly, but had no idea what he would deal with later.

Meanwhile, Lackey had been scolded by Razorbeard once again because Rayman had run away, so he built a large barrel-like robot, the Biditank.(2)

''You don't know what you'll find before you, Rayman. I will kill you, so the Admiral will be proud of me. If I fail again, he will kill me.'' he thought, as he went looking for the limbless hero. He knew that if he disappointed Razorbeard again, he could tear him to pieces.

A/N: The lasers blocking the access to the factory are now disabled. Rayman must find the third mask in the Rock and Lava Sanctuary. But what will he find in the factory? Find out in the next chapters! I hope you enjoyed this chapter and see you next time!

(1): In the PS2 remake, the levels ''The Sanctuary of Rock and Lava'' and ''Beneath the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava'' are unchanged, but with the names reversed. These two parts of the sanctuary will be united to avoid a chapter too short.
