A/N this one will be a three-parter as I'm ending this at five. This one takes place on another timeline, and I can't think of anything else to add from here. Anyways, thanks for reading :)

Chapter 4: The Wall Part 1

When I first set out on this whole journey looking for new abilities, I thought it would take me months maybe even years to find a decent ability. Oh how wrong I was, considering two just ended up on my doorstep.

At the time, I was staying at a little motel a few thousand miles away from New York and more towards the country side. Claire and her father Bennett were tracking me around this point, as they news spread about the 'accident' at Stark Industries. I came up with a disguise, which consisted of a simple beard and scruffy hair underneath my trucker's hat along with fake IDs I went by the name of "Drew O'Grady" or as a nickname, just Drew sufficed. I answered the door, to see two men standing there.

One shorter than the other, the shorter one had brown hair, blue eyes and a classy look about him. He seemed British by his dress alone, and I got the strangest feeling that he could tell what I was thinking about him in that moment. The other man, slightly taller had a armani type jacket. He had this look in his eyes which looked about the same as the look I gave people before I well, you know.

Both men started talking to me about this place they wanted to take me, and how my abilities (or mutations as they referred to them as) including how they could help me. I agreed to come along with them, but of course I never told them my intentions behind my decision. The shorter man seemed a bit wary of me, as he used his ability to look into my mind.

I kept quiet over the ride to wherever it was they were taking me. That's when I saw this large government facility, I got a little anxious as it reminded me of the company. Thankfully, this place was not owned or affiliated with them, so naturally I had nothing to worry about. As we got there, I met a group of all kinds of different people. All those abilities ripe for the taking, like its own little feast. I engaged in conversation with them, as the short man (known as Charles) and the taller man (known as Erik) had left us alone.

"So what's your mutation Drew?" one of the others asked me, as the conversation circled over to me. I got a little distracted looking at everyone else's ability, that I hadn't realized that they were talking to me.

"Hmm, oh me. I can move objects with my mind," I said sheepishly, I pointed my fingers out to a can sitting on the table in front of me and used my ability to bring it into my hand. Everyone watched in amazement as I did that.

"Woah that's nice. Can you move bigger stuff too?" one of the guys behind me asked, he pointed towards the statue sitting outside of the little party room we were staying in. I got closer to the window and pointed my fingers again. I focused as hard as I could on the object, crushing the object in its place.

The others admired my skill, while I took the opportunity to note who would be the best target. That night, we started to hear noises coming from outside. I, unlike the others did not join in on the party. I instead walked around the facility. There was this power, I could feel coming from nearby.

That's when I met Shaw for the first time. The guy made quite the entrance as he engulfed the facility in flames as he destroyed the entire East wing. I rejoined the others, without causing much of a stir. Shaw made his way here, killing thousands of men along the way. I happened to look outside to see men plummeting to their death. A vary literal interpretation of "It's raining men". In the distance, the globe building used for communication was destroyed via tornado.

Shaw entered the room, along with a weird blue men teleporting over to his side. He had this ridiculous helmet on his head that arched around his forehead, made entirely out of steel. The power I saw from him astounded me, I desperately wanted to thrash his body to the ground and cut him open right infront of everyone. But Shaw's colleagues looked too powerful, I would be outmatched.

"Hello mutants, I've come here to recruit you for a new movement. No longer will we live in fear of the humans. We will rise up and take our place as the rightful people deserving of Earth. We are humanity's evolution! So join me, and we will live like kings" Shaw turned to one of the girls "and queens". This seemed to persuade her as she took his hand right there.

The others started to get rilled up as they fought for their friend to be with them, I however looked for my opportunity to get to Shaw. I walked over to Shaw, I made him believe I too wanted to join. The others complained more, until I gave them a small wink as I walked out to join Shaw outside with his friends.

One of the boys shot at Shaw with his energy ability, another tried blocking the attack with his rock-like skin. In the panic of Shaw absorbing the energy, I extended my finger and cut into his brain. One of the mutants saw me do this and tried transporting me elsewhere. My reflexes kicked in as I sent him flying. The girl who wanted to join Shaw, flew at me shooting small fireballs my way. The other mutants fought alongside me as we took down every single one of them.

Shaw collapsed to the ground, as I walked over to his dying corpse. Shaw looked at me, and in his last moments he smiled at me. I guess he knew something about me, maybe he heard about my stunt back in New York. Either way I removed his helmet and got a closer look at his ripe mind.

The other mutants inquired what I was doing.

"Dude what the hell? Get away from him," one of the guys said, as he could see the exposed membrane from where he stood. I ignored him as I took a look inside, I poked my fingers around. Then it finally clicked to me, I had gained his power. I got back up and took out a small hankercheif from my pocket as I took the blood off of my hands.

Shaw's goons (well, what remained of them, as the girl took a fair amount of damage) walked towards me. The guy who could make tornados tried sending one in my direction, I took this opportunity to test out my new ability. I extended my hands out as the tornado made its way over to me. Then it kicked in, I absorbed the tornado right then and there. I could feel all that power it gave me. I smirked back at him, as I sent out an identical tornado towards them, along with an added addition of my own ability, as I sent both of them flying.

I turned to the other mutants, looking between their scared faces. So many choices, so little time. One caught my eye the fastest, the one name I remembered outside of the usual dribble from the others. Mystique. She could change her entire body at will, so naturally I wanted her first. The only appearance I didn't anticipate was Charles and Erik returning from their trip. After that I couldn't see anything except for a large bright white wall surrounding me on all sides. All alone, without a soul in the distance.
