A/N: Hey, guys! In the previous chapter, Rayman has deactivated the second generator, and can now enter the Pirate Factory. What will he face before entering the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava? Let's find out!

Chapter 14: Inside the Factory

Rayman entered the cave where Ly was awaiting for him.

''Hi, Rayman. I have something to tell you.'' said the fairy.

''What is it?'' asked the hero.

''The Guardian of the Rock and Lava Sanctuary is Foutch. I tried to get in touch with him, but it went wrong.''

''What happened?''

''Ever since the Heart of the World was destroyed, he has gone mad and ignores reason. He didn't want to listen to me.(1)''

''It doesn't matter. I'll find the mask before the pirates.'' said Rayman, who was determined to not give up.

''I hope everything goes fine, the pirates are not messing around now. If I can combine enough energy to create another Silver Lum, I will let you know. Good luck.'' said Ly, before leaving.

The limbless hero entered the mines and went to the right, where he found a Yellow Lum next to the passage to the Pirate Factory.

Entering the factory, he began to explore it, finding nine Yellow Lums and saving the trapped Familiar spirit. He then reached an elevator, which according to the signs, led to the Sanctuary, and as soon as he left, he heard a voice.

''Help! Rayman! The pirates have caught me!'' she shouted.

Rayman recognized the voice. ''Bimbette? It is you? One of Globox's daughters?'' he asked.

''Yes I am. I'm locked in the cage right above you. There are four generators in this room, which if all are activated, will activate the cannon in the command center. Once that is done, fire at the cage.'' explained Bimbette.

So, the hero activated the generators, activating the cannon, and found three Yellow Lums in the room, then shot the cage, destroying it, and Bimbette came out. Her skin was a dark pink color, she wore a bow and her belly had a heart shape.

''Yuppie! I'm free! Rayman! My hero!'' cried the little girl, jumping into his arms.

''You're welcome, Bimbette.'' he said.

''You got here just in time. The pirates wanted to test a new weapon on me.'' said Bimbette.

(''Dr. Robotnik's Theme- Sonic 3D Blast GENESIS'')

Suddenly, the elevator door closed. ''Oh-oh!'' murmured the little girl, worried. From a hole in the center of the room, the Biditank came out.

''It's a trap, Bimbette! Hide, quickly! I'll take care of this pile of junk!'' exclaimed Rayman.

Frightened, Bimbette hid at the command center, while the Biditank fired. Among the weapons were a front machine gun and side cannons that fired bombs, and it could also emit an electric shock. The hero had trouble withstanding all those blows, but found that he could avoid them by using generators as a barrier. Then he heard Spyglass's voice.

''The Admiral wants you dead, and I'll kill you!'' he shouted.

When Rayman activated the last generator, the Biditank stopped, forcing Spyglass to go out to refuel, and the hero took the opportunity to go to the command center and shoot the robot's weak point, the mechanical eye, with the cannon. With each shot, the shots became faster and faster, more powerful and persistent, and the limbless hero could not resist for long. Using the generator trick, he managed to tolerate everything, and after hitting the Biditank with the cannon two more times, it was destroyed.

''It's not over yet! I'll be back!'' yelled Spyglass, who ran away.

''Bravo, Rayman! You're the best!'' cried Bimbette, as a ladder lowered.

''Thanks, Bimbette. Go to your mom, she's awaiting for you. I also have to save your father and siblings.'' said Rayman.

The hero climbed the ladder and went on, finding two Yellow Lums, but after opening a door, he came across a crossroads: the entrance to the sanctuary on the left or a shortcut on the right. In the latter, he saw lava blocking the passage.

''The Grand Minimus said that the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava is accessible from the swamp. Let's get that mine cart.'' said Murfy.

So Rayman entered it, and after entering a tunnel, he faced numerous piranhas and zombie chickens and took a small boat to reach the swamp.

Yellow Lums found: 30/30, total 697/1000

Saved Familiar spirits: 1/1, total 61/80

A/N: Biditank has been defeated, and Rayman can advance to the Rock and Lava Sanctuary. The chapter is a little short, but I will already start preparing the next chapter, which covers both parts of the Sanctuary.

(1): Like with the reason Umber helps Rayman here, the PS1 version also explains why Foutch hampers him: the explosion of the Heart of the World has driven him crazy.
