Chapter 4: The Wall Pt 2

"Mom?" I called out, I saw her walking away from me. I tried chasing after her, only to trip up and fall to the ground.

I slowly got back up, pulling myself up with my shaking arms.

I looked up to see my mother again, tears streaming down her face.

"What have you done to my Gabriel?" mom said to me, I reached out to her and she pulled away from me.

"Mom, mom its me" I told her, she shook her head at me.

"No. You are not my boy, what have you done to my Gabriel," she said, I watched as she pulled out a pair of scissors and pointed it at me. I fought back, only to have her die in my arms.

"No, no mom, I'm sorry" I whispered to her as life slowly drained from her, she collapsed to the ground.

I found myself back at a little diner, this was the day I killed Charlie. I headed over to the backroom, to see her standing there with her head already exposed, with blood dripping down her face.

"Is this what you wanted Gabriel?" she said to me, I took off my hat as she approached me.

"Or should I say Sylar," just then, Charlie became Issac Mendez. He then became Suresh's father as he stared right into my eyes.

"All that power, all of those abilities and for what?" Suresh became Claire.

"Your own satisfaction? A lust for power? Loneliness" Claire's head didn't heal like I'd seen it before, it just stayed open with fresh blood dripping down.

"You're a monster, Sylar. Just another psychopath that needs to be stopped," Claire said.

What have you done to my Gabriel?

I found myself back in New York again, this time at Kirby Plaza. I stood over my own body, Parkman and the others approached me.

"What makes you so special, Sylar?" Parkman said to me, instead of slit like the others, his eyes turned white.

"That hunger you have is just like any other psycho, what makes you any different?" Bennett told me, the others started to circle around my body as I saw myself bleed out right there. No one saved me, or mourned me, I just laid there.

What have you done to my Gabriel?

The voices started to overlap in my mind, I pushed away from them as I tried running away. I found myself by the wall, the same wall I saw moments ago.

I tried breaking it down, climbing it, anything I could think of to get rid of it.

I gave up after a while, as I slid down the wall to a seating position. I looked out around me to see absolutely no one. Not a soul remained here, just empty streets with trash floating in the wind.

Then the trial began, I watched in my limp state as the witnesses testified against me. The first to speak was Bennett. I tried escaping only to notice my whole body looked like a ragdoll.

"Well, your honor if Gabriel Grey remained with the company we could have easily rehabilitated him but he refused treatment. wanted this to happen to him, no question about it. If he wasn't the sick, twisted, power hungry monster he is then he could have had a fulfilling life instead of dying alone" Bennett said bluntly, he had his horn rimmed glasses on and really hammered in his point with more enthusiasm than what I've ever seen.

The next to come to the stand was Claire, she stood there dressed in crimson red.

"Your honor, I knew Sylar for only a short amount of time and the only thing I can say about him is that I have a great amount of pity for him. The sad pathetic person standing before you only thought of himself and here he is, without a friend or even a witness to stand up for him. Even though I'm just a cheerleader from Costa Verde, I do believe I could have helped him if he just talked to me more" Claire said, she bowed out from the stand as Lydia and Elle took the stand.

"Your honor, I cared deeply for , I taught him how to use my ability and its fair to say sparks did fly. But, his bloodlust took over as he ended my life" Elle took out a small tissue wiping away the blood that dripped from her head.

"I had a fling with Mr. Grey as well, until he left me there to die" Lydia said, her face completely blue and her pale skin reflecting off the spotlight she stood under.

What have you done to my Gabriel?

The worst part happened as my mother took the stand.

"Oh your honor, please take pity on my boy. Just let me hold him in my arms and take him home with me. I can give him everything he needs. He never meant to hurt anybody," I teared up at my mom's response. She looked at me with blood stained tears and a pair of scissors still inside her.

The judge, a large creature with The Company attire on, started talking.

"From the evidence, testimony and witnesses I am thoroughly disgusted by your very presence. In all my years of judging, you young man are deserving of the full penalty of law. The way you make them suffer, the countless lives sacrificed for your selfish needs all in the name of gaining more power makes me grateful to be the one to sentence you. I hereby declare that you, Gabriel Grey shall remain within the wall for all eternity. To live alone, and to die alone" the judge decreed as he smacked his gavel down.

I fought back as hard as I could, I pushed, I scratched, I cried. I pleaded.

I can't be alone.

I don't want to be alone.

Alone.

Alone.

Alone.

What have you done to my Gabriel?

Mom, It's me.

What have you done to my Gabriel?

I'm here mom. I never left.
