Roderich groans.

He groggily tries to sit up. That's when he finally realized he is no longer at the comfort of his own room.

He observes his surroundings, the room he's in seems like a place no one has ever been to in years. The wallpapers are rotting with mold, there's spider webs in some parts of the room, R wouldn't even doubt there are dust covering the furniture in the room. Speaking of the furniture, there's nothing else in the room, except for a couple of drawers, a piano, and the dirty old couch he's sitting on.

There's a voice recorder nearby, he picked it up and pressed the play button.

"Hello! You have been chosen to take part in a little game," a pre recorded voice said; "here are the rules, you have fifteen minutes to escape before the alarm clock goes off and poisonous gas fills the room. Good luck."

Sure enough, in the middle of the room sits an alarm clock. It appears to be counting down.

He doesn't want to believe the recorded message, but considering he had just been kidnapped from his own home and is currently held hostage, they could be speaking the truth, and If the person in the recorded message is telling the truth, then he must find a way out quickly.

His attention moves to the piano in front of him. Strangely it isn't covered in any dust. Roderich pressed one of keys, he then felt a sharp pain on his finger, he retreated his hand, there's blood oozing out of his forefinger. Whoever kidnapped him has probably rigged the piano so that sharp needles will prick the fingers of whoever plays it.

If Roderich ever meets his kidnapper he would like to have a word with them about the proper treatment of pianos.

He then noticed the song book on top of the piano, he looks through it. The book only has one page, all the other seems to have been ripped out.

Really the person who kidnapped him has no respect for the arts of music.

He recognized the music piece on the page, it was Funeral March of a Marionette by Charles Gounod. Does his kidnappper want him to play this? he could, but he doesn't really feel like sacrificing more of his fingers on a needle rigged piano.

He glances at the alarm clock. Guess he doesn't really have a choice.

He sits down on the piano chair. And begins to play. When he finally reached the end of the song, he heard a small metallic noise. He moves around the piano and found a key under it. he must have activated some sort of mechanism when he played. his fingers were also uninjured surprisingly, perhaps only the keys used for playing the song are the only ones that isn't rigged.

Anyways, he doesn't have time to think about that right now, he needs to get out of this room.

he tries the key on the only door in the room, but it won't budge. He has the wrong key.

Roderich sighs, He should have known it won't be that easy.

He takes another look around the room, his eyes then lands on the drawers next to him. On top of it is a chest he didn't noticed earlier. He tries the key on the chest, it fits. He peers inside, in the box is a piece of paper with numbers written on it:

15673

What does it mean?

Where could he insert this number? He already used the piano, and there is nothing else in the room except for a couch, the alarm clock and this drawer.

He glances at the drawer again, he noticed it has nine shelfs.

He wonders...

He takes out some of the drawers in order of the numbers on the note. A secret compartment reveals itself from beside the drawers, inside it is another key.

This better be the right key.

Roderich grabbed it and puts it in the door's keyhole. It finally opens, thank god.

And just in time too, the poison gas just leaked in.

Roderich covers his nose and mouth and ran straight out of the room.
