Remember the song in Chapter 4? Shoutout to Blazing Fire Star Kid 01 for figuring it out. And to those of you who are wondering, the song is Duality by Slipknot. It's a very agressive and hardcore metal song. Also, I had a question from Vittorio Fedele wondering why this goes against the Star Fox canon. I didn't realize that Falco knew Katt before Star Fox 64 until I had already written chapter 2, so I decided that my Star Fox universe is a different universe from the canon. In my universe, Free as a Bird and The Hot Rodders are two seperate groups that exist at different times. I hope this answers any questions.
It started as a calm, peaceful morning for the Hot Rodders. Tokoyami was relating to the sad emo lyrics of Welcome to the Black Parade, Green Slayer was playing Holy Wars on the guitar painfully bad, and Katt and Falco were playing Mario Kart on the Nintendo Switch that they just bought. "Can you believe how much money we've made in the past week?" Falco asked. "I know! It's crazy! I'd like to see Star Fox making this much moolah!" responded Katt. Then, Falco was hit by a blue shell. "DAMN GAME!" the avian screamed. Katt started laughing. "You're so funny when you're mad." she stated. "So are you." responded Falco. "Aww. Thanks, Falco." Katt said.
Just then, all of The Hot Rodders received an alert on their phones. It said "SOS! Need help!" and had a GPS signal from Zoness. "Hot Rodders. Head out!" said Falco. "Roger, Falco." responded the rest of the team. "Okay. Let's rock and roll!" said Falco before taking off.
After a 20 minute flight, the Hot Rodders arrived on Zoness, a planet mostly covered in water, with a few islands here and there. However, on this particular day, the region of the planet the Hot Rodders were on was covered in a thick fog, making it hard to see anything at all. "Why are we in the middle of the ocean?" asked Tokoyami. "Because the GPS said to come here. We should be near the source of the distress signal." responded Falco. Then, Black Slayer noticed a pirate ship through the fog, and it wasn't any ordinary pirate ship either. This particular vessel belonged to Warlordz of Karnage, the most infamous gang of pirates in the Lylat System. For the past 20 years, these pirates have been travelling the galaxy, stealing from and killing anyone who gets in their way, all while evading capture from even the strongest of Lylat's soldiers.
Black Slayer had a history with the Warlordz of Karnage. Before he joined the Hot Rodders, he was captured by the Warlords of Karnage on his home planet of Aquas. He was just sitting on his boat, enjoying the sunrise, when they showed up. The Warlordz of Karnage kidnapped Black Slayer, then blew up his ship right in front of him. Black Slayer was forced to become a slave to the pirates so he wouldn't be executed, where he stayed for 5 years. During those years, he was subjected to extremely harsh conditions and very little food and water. He nearly starved to death. Finally, Black Slayer had enough and jumped ship, adopting the name "Green Slayer" to evade capture from the pirates.
Because of his history with them, the Warlordz of Karnage's ship was the last place Green Slayer wanted to be. Falco noticed a red canine girl tied to the top of the ship's mast, so he said "That pirate ship dead ahead is where we need to go." "I don't think that's such a good idea." responded Green Slayer. "Don't be such a wimp, Green Slayer." responded Falco. "You don't understand. They will destroy you for years to come. Don't go on that ship." begged Green Slayer. "I know that, yet I still think we can take them on. They're just pirates. Besides, that girl needs our help. " responded Falco before jumping out of his Arwing and using his wings to fly aboard the ship. Then, Katt and Tokoyami followed him aboard.
Upon entering the ship, the Hot Rodder's were met by 3 reptilian creatures, each one carrying a gun and a sword. "So you're the ones whom the red one contacted." the first one said. "It is your time to die." the second one said. "I'm gonna rip out yer guts and eat them for breakfast." the third one said. Then, the reptilians started attacking.
The reptilian pirates and the Hot Rodders fought a long and bloody battle. Each strike of the battle seemed to take large quantities of blood from both parties. Each bullet felt like a thousand knives to Falco. Each laser blast hit the pirates like a ton of bricks. Finally, after fighting for 6 hours, the pirates fell over dead. The Hot Rodders survived, but just barely. Then, Falco climbed up to the top of the mast to untie the canine. Upon Falco saving her, she said "Thanks for saving me." "No problem. How did you end up getting captured anyway?" responded Falco.
So, the red canine proceeded to tell the story of her capture. She was travelling to another island for flight school when her hover car ran out of fuel. Then, she noticed a ship, so she landed on it to refuel. Unfortunately for her, the ship belonged to the Warlordz of Karnage, who tied her to the mast so they could cook her later. Then, she used her phone's last percent of battery to send out a distress signal. The pirates saw this, so they destroyed her phone and beat her until she passed out.
"Wow. That's a pretty harsh story. May I know the name of the person I rescued?" asked Falco. "My name is Blaze Firestar, but you can just call me Blaze." the canine responded. "I think that Blaze is a beautiful name. Would you like to join the team? We've needed another member ever since our old leader, Collan, went AWOL." Falco asked. "Sure. I'd love that!" responded Blaze.
The rest of the team had returned to the ship, so Falco and Blaze went to the ship. "I'm so glad you're alive! I thought you were goners!" said Green Slayer. "Okay, Green Slayer, you wimp. This is Blaze. She is the newest member of the team." said Falco. "D'ya have any flight experience?" Katt asked her. "Yes. I pilot spacecraft all the time at the academy." Blaze answered. "Okay. Welcome to the team." said Katt.
Then, the Hot Rodders received a message from General Pepper. "What is it, General?" Falco asked. "It's an emergency! Star Wolf has escaped from prison! Even worse, our security cameras show that Collan is the one who broke them out of prison! Since Star Fox is on another, more important mission, we need you to track down Star Wolf and put an end to their madness." stated General Pepper. "Okay. We accept." responded Falco. "Uh! Collan broke Star Wolf out of prison? When I get my hands on him, he's gonna wish he was never born!" exclaimed Green Slayer. And so, the Hot Rodders immediately set off on their search for Star Wolf, and hopefully Collan.
