Chapter:4 Let's Do it then
Nicky, "i think it's time for me to leave" Alex murmured, c'mon Vause, why such a hurry, do you have a secret baby that you need to breastfeed or something?.
Alex just chuckled at this, actually am leaving too, Piper mumbled, Nicky raised her brows in question, you too blondie?.
"C'mon man don't do this shit to me huh?" you two have an agenda on me or what?, Piper just stared at Alex at Nicky's comment and blushed.
And then she said " it's not like that" it's just that I have a morning shift, so I have to be up early, Nicky just rolled up eyes on this, abiding to Nicky and Lorna goodbye , Alex and Piper left together
"So which part of the city are you staying at?, Alex asked Piper, while stepping out of elevator.
"New Rochelle " you?
"Greenville". answered Alex
"You have a ride? " Alex questioned Piper.
"Nah, am just going to take a Uber, you?
"So am i, Alex answered very thrilled with the idea of waiting for Uber standing besides Piper.
"you and Nicky seems so close, Piper interjected, they were now standing outside Nicky's apartment waiting for their Uber to arrive.
before Alex could answer, Piper's phone rings, checking on the phone screen is Larry.
Hey Piper " where the hell are you?" And why are you not picking up my calls? "I went to your house, Carl was laying on the floor unconscious alone" and you're nowhere to be seen, whaat?, is he okay?
" We are in the hospital Piper".
Larry answered very annoyed by his girlfriend for not picking up his earlier phone calls.
"which hospital Larry?"
"Montefiore" Larry answered, okay am on my way there, Piper hangs up her phone, feeling so emotionally exhausted'
"Is everything okay?" Alex asked her? " I don't know" , I mean " my brother was found laying on the floor unconscious", he must have passed out, she was now sobbing the words.
"Do you want me to escort you?" , Alex asked her very worried.
No, I don't know, I just need to get there, before piper can get a gist on her escalating emotions, a drop of tear rolls out of her eyes and strikes Alex's hand, Alex touch does nothing to Piper rather than accelerating her sobs.
Alex cancelled her own Uber, booking another one around the area , she takes a back seat with Piper who was now sobbing uncontrollably.
"I shouldn't have left him alone", I should have been there with him" , if something bad happened to him what kind a sister would I be.
"it is going to be okay Piper, Alex said rubbing her back in a soothing manner"
you don't know that? I was drinking in a stupid party while my brother was laying on the floor unconscious, she continue rambling.
"how stupid and selfish is that huh?"
"It's not your fault stop beating yourself up about it, Alex tried to calm her down.
"Ooh please tell that to a kid", Piper raised her voice.
" Hey look ," I know we have just met and I may not know exactly what you're feeling, but I have a pretty idea" that's why I'm going to remind you the reason why am here, for all the support you need, am here for you and I need you to know that.
Alex murmured, her voice is so soft and her eyes compassionate as she runs her fingers back and forth on Piper's soft cheeks
And for a moment Piper surrendered to the element of the universe,
she shuts her eyes briefly , her lips part as she struggle to take in as many breath as she can possibly take.
stepping out of the car, Piper rushed to the hospital reception.
"Leaving Alex paying for their Uber, she is then told to wait for a doctor for more info.
Where she took a seat and continue sobbing.
Five minutes later she's joined by Alex, Piper spends few minutes crying on the crooks of Alex's shoulder,
This made Alex to hangs her head in frustration, at the sight of Piper weeping so emotionally, with no idea how to make the woman she was holding in her very hands feel better.
Suddenly Larry emerged coming from the hospital canteen, Piper hurriedly free herself from Alex grasp.
"Oh Pipes" Larry draws her into a tight and passionate embrace, stroking her hair and planting soft kisses on it, as she continue crying uncontrollably.
into his chest, it is going to be okay Pipes, " he will be okay!.."
"I got you" , Larry whispers into her very scarlet ears.
Alex was sitting there awkwardly, with no Idea whether it was good for her to leave or not, she looks at her chest, her gown is soaking wet with mascara, tears and scowls of Piper, stealing a glance at the couple.
The way Larry was holding Piper, made Alex feels sick, jealousy and a pain in her very beating heart.
"what is it that she was feelings towards the woman she barely knew huh?", it was like something very important in her life was taken away from her.
For heaven's sake the girl had a boyfriend, and her own girlfriend was very much at home waiting for her or probably worried over her.
Thank god she is saved by a phone call, she excused herself outside to attend her call, after the phone call ended, she decided to head home, without saying goodbye to Piper.
Reaching to her apartment, she was thankful that the lights were turned off as she wasn't ready to explain herself to her girlfriend regarding the situation of her gown.
she kicks off her shoes, take off her clothes ,storms direct to the bathroom.
She spends something like 20 minutes, taking shower half of it thinking of how Piper was painfully sobbing.
She felt like someone was stabbing her heart, no this is stupid, like really fucking stupid.
"What? was she hurting for a girl she knew nothing about huh?" nah… is not like her feelings was developing for blonde or something?.
"No!... not at all, Alex Vause "doesn't do deep feelings"
she learned it in a hard way not to develop or show any deep feelings to anyone, she stopped many years ago.
"maybe she was just exhausted and probably... no! definitely a glass of wine and sex with Amelia will help her relax.
she's startled by Amelia's voice,
"I can't do this anymore", she blurted out leaning in the bathroom doorway, Alex raise her gaze to meet her's
"Do what?" she stood up grabbing her robe
"Are you mad at me?" She said walking towards her girlfriend who was now drying up herself
"Alex please answer me!" I think am walking on eggshells every time I'm around you, I feel like you have been avoiding me! Amelia's voice is nothing but heavy with sadness
Alex's body stiffens, her jaw clenched, Amelia knows better than to walk any further towards her
"we are not doing this" Amelia, "you are the one who fucking left and went over to you parents,"
"I'm so sorry Alex".
she blurted out almost unexpectedly.
"Look I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable" I just felt like the both of us needed space,
Hearing this,Alex release a heavy sigh.
Amelia take this as a sign, she walks towards Alex and continue with her apology,
"I'm so sorry for what I said before, that was very selfish of me, plus the eggs are yours, you have every right to be mad at me I shouldn't have said that.
she pauses and then continued.
"Look if you don't want us to hire a surrogate, let's adopt then?
Amelia Said looking Alex in the eyes trying to find any signs of rejection,
Alex doesn't said a word, instead she takes steps towards Amelia, she pushes a lock of her hair behind her ear, with one hand, while using the other to raise her head up by chin to meet hers.
Amelia doesn't even know it when her lids shut close, and her lips are brushing softly against Alex's slowly taking her in as though her life depended on it, and then
Alex says "let's do it then".
"let's have our own baby" "let's hire that surrogate" she finishes while going south on Amelia
Amelia is taken aback by Alex's sudden change of heart
"Really babe"?!... Amelia murmured asking for confirmation
"Hmmhn", Alex hummes taking her first lick….
"Then I will take care of every thing babe" Amelia, said her heartbeats raising rapidly
