Colleen walks into the front lobby of Rand Enterprises. She smiles when she sees the logo on the wall and goes to the front desk, "Uh, I'm here to see Danny Rand?" Minutes later, Colleen is on the top floor. She sees Ward through the glass wall, addressing a room of board members. The door to Danny's old office pops open and he pokes his head out, "Come on in, Colleen."

She enters, "Did you decide to go back to your company?"

"Nah, this company belongs to Ward now, but I don't know when I'll get to see my parents' old office again. I came by for nostalgia's sake."

"So what did you want to see me about? Why do you have the Fist?"

"About that. As you know, I went to Asia to find answers about your past."

"Right, I'm the descendant of the first Iron Fist, apparently."

"To solve that mystery, I decided to find the person who sent the Iron Fist corpse to Davos last year."

"What did you find?"

"At first, Ward and I only found breadcrumbs. In a temple in Hong Kong, we found partial manuscripts detailing an ancient prophecy about a Child Touched By Fire emerging from a hidden city to be its savior."

"Wait, your mentor used to call you a Child Touched By Fire."

"He was referencing the prophecy. It gets better. While searching for the rest of the manuscripts, we ended up raiding a warehouse in Jakarta. I thought we would find the rest of the manuscripts but we found something else instead."

"The guns."

"Remember the transference ritual?"

"The one Davos used to take your power?"

"And the one we used to give that power to you. Apparently a similar ritual was placed on those pistols. From what I gathered, the ritual could return an Iron Fist's power. Thankfully, we got his name: Orson Randall. We tracked some of his men to a bar in Hokkaido, Japan and from there, we found out where he lived."

HOKKAIDO...

As Danny speaks, he remembers his adventure in Japan. A group of men with machine guns stand guard outside a mansions. Danny, in his Iron Fist mask and jacket, performs a series of gymnastic moves to climb up a tree and hop over the large gate surrounding the mansion. Once he drops down onto the lawn, he pulls his pistols and fires twin bullets. The bullets fly toward the men and explode a few feet from them, creating a shockwave that throws them into the air. While they writhe on the ground, Danny passes them, ignites his fist, then punches the door in. "Once I made it inside, there was no further resistance," Danny narrates, "... I knew he was expecting me." Danny arrives in a study to find a middle aged caucasian man sitting by a fire.

"Orson Randal?," Danny begins.

"I am," the man stands and greets him, "And you must be Danny Rand. The Immortal Iron Fist. The Protector of K'un L'un. Destroyer of the Hand... Did I forget any?"

"You pretty much got them all but these days, I just go by Danny."

"So you've been looking for me," he motions to the manuscripts on the table next to him, "As well as these."

"The manuscripts. So, wanna tell me how you're connected to all this?"

"I could tell you, but I'll let these manuscripts speak for me. You can read them, after all."

Danny approaches the manuscripts, which are written with symbols similar to the ones written in the caves below Midland Circle. "You have seen symbols like these before," Randall explains, "You probably couldn't read them then but you can now. You've had the Power of the Dragon long enough to fully unlock its potential."

"So could you read it?," Colleen asks.

"Like it was my first language. I've come a long way in understanding the Iron Fist. The manuscripts told the other half of the prophecy. The descendant of the first Iron Fist will be born in a far away land. At a time when the people of K'un L'un need her the most, she will be given the Power of the Dragon... by the Child Touched By Fire."

"You!"

"Seems we were living out a prophecy this entire time. Master Lei Kung believed it and that's why he was so interested in me gaining the Iron Fist. That's also why the Hand was interested in both of us. They foresaw all of this happening even before we were born."

"So you give me the Iron Fist, then what happens next?"

"You are supposed to go to the people of K'un L'un and lead them to a new land."

"A new land? K'un L'un was destroyed."

"That's what I told Orson Randal."

Danny recalls Orson talking to him, "The city was destroyed but the people escaped before that happened. They've been on their own this entire time."

Back at the office, Colleen continues, "But who is this Orson Randal guy? Can we trust him?"

Danny flashes back to meeting Orson Randal. He pours a glass of brandy as he speaks, "Yes, I was the one who sent the medallion to Colleen Wing in hopes it would put you on the right path. Sadly, I was also the one to send that corpse to Davos. I thought giving him the means to the transfer ritual would eventually lead to Colleen gaining the power of the Iron Fist."

Danny becomes angry but remains calm, "People died."

"Unfortunately, but if it's any consolidation to you, once I learned Davos was in a holding cell, I had him poisoned."

Danny rushes forward and shoves him against a wall, "You killed him!"

"All the signs were pointing to the prophecy. I had to see to its fruition. He might have gotten in the way."

"How the hell do you know about all this?"

"Because, like you, I once had the power of the dragon," Danny releases him out of curiosity, "But I was never an Iron Fist. I was a soldier of fortune during the first World War. During my travels, I heard of the legends of K'un L'un and sought them out. I found the city and lived with them for years, learning all I could. Before the gate closed, I sneaked in to the cave of Shao-Lao the Undying. I struck the dragon's heart, gained its power, and left the city before anyone knew what happened. By the way, one side effect of the power is an abnormally long life so you'll keep that handsome mug for a very long time."

"You're a coward and a thief."

"I know exactly what I am. To make amends, I transferred my power into my old guns and kept them safe. To pay for my crimes, I dedicated myself to fulfilling the prophecy. I understand if any of this makes you hate me any less."

"I'm bringing you to justice. I'm not sure how but I'll see that you properly pay for your crimes."

"That's already happened," he finishes his glass and sets it down before having a seat, "After all, there was more than brandy in that glass."

"So you're taking the coward's way out."

"Like I said, I know what I am," he closes his eyes, "My last gift to you is a map to where I suspect the people of K'un L'un are currently hidden. The map is in the desk of my study," with that, he falls limp in his chair.

Back at the office, Danny produces a rolled-up map, "This is the map he left me with. There's only one way to see if the prophecy is true. Are you in?"

Colleen nods and smiles brightly, "I'm in."
