Darkness.

Then-

"Ah, the Sleeping Beauty lives."

I opened my eyes. Sitting at the end of the bed I was lying on was a girl of around fifteen or sixteen. She was short and had dark brown hair and pale skin. She radiated an aura of extreme power and superiority. Something was off though… then I realised what it was.

She had extraordinary eyes.

And I don't mean, like, really green eyes, or something.

Her eyes looked like molten pools of gold.

I started and tried to sit up. Whoever this girl was, she was not human.

"Woah, woah," she said, pushing me back down. "Is it the eyes? They scare just about everyone. It really sucks."

"W-who are you? Where am I? What happened?" I stammered.

"Girl, you took on, like, three rogue hellhounds, without training, on your own. The whole camp thinks you're some kind of super half blood."

"Hellhounds.. hold up, half what?" I asked.

"I'll explain in a minute," the girl said. "First what's your name?"

"What's yours?" I countered.

She laughed. "I like you. Okay, my name's Bellatrix Delgado. Now, your name?"

"I'm Sofia Holland."

"Nice to meet you Sofia. Now, what do you know about Greek Mythology?"

I stared. This girl has freaking gold eyes and she asks me about some dead religion?

"What, you mean like, Zeus, Athena, Hades? The heroes with tragic ends? That stuff?"

To my surprise, she snorted. "Stupid Olympians, taking all the spotlight. What about before the gods, heroes, all that. What about the Titans?" Her golden eyes gleamed.

"Uh…. you mean like, Kronos?"

There was a rumble of thunder. Bellatrix smiled. You know when villains have, like, an evil smile or smirk? This girl was the queen of them.

"Yes, and you know the story of how the Olympians defeated Kronos and he and the other Titans were defeated and cast into Tartarus. Well, the thing is, my father was a master of the mist. The Gods simply destroyed illusions. He and the rest of the Titans lived in secret, even having children with mortals, just like those puny gods."

I stared, dimly aware of my mouth hanging open. "Y-your father?"

Bellatrix gave her evil smile again.

"Yes, my father. Bellatrix Delgado, daughter of Kronos, the Titan of time."

I think I blacked out again after that.

When I came to again, Bellatrix was gone and a boy was sitting in her place.

This one did not have golden eyes.

I took that as a plus.

"Oh, you're up," he said, looking at me like I was something nasty on the bottom of his shoe. "I suppose you want answers."

I nodded.

"Bella explained most of it, Titans are real, gods are real, yippy skippy, get used to it," he said, sneering at me with hard eyes. They were icy blue.

"Why do you hate me?" I asked.

"I don't hate you."

"Well you're doing a great job of pretending otherwise."

He sighed. "Bella doesn't show it, but it really gets to her when people judge her for her father. She's been my best friend since I got here, and I hate anyone hurting her, 'Kay?"

"Yeah.. who are you? Also, where the hell am I? My dad told me to come here, that I had to do it on my own, and that I would be safe. I didn't feel safe when a couple of.. helldogs attacked me."

"Hellhounds," he corrected. "And to answer your questions, I'm Tyler Valencia, Son of Iapetus, Titan of the West and Morality and Mortal Life Span. And this is Camp Demi Titan. We have 18 cabins here, all off which mark a Titan with kids. If a kid with a different parent comes along, a cabin is automatically created by their parent. There is another camp though. One for half mortal, half god. They are our enemies. They don't know we exist. We want to keep it that way for now."

"The enemy?"

"Some of them. Others are spies for us and our cause."

"And your cause is…?"

"To restore our parents as rulers again. The gods are tyrants. They locked away my half niece and tortured her emotionally just for supporting our parents during the first Titan war."

I gasped. "Oh, is she Calypso?"

"Yes."

I realised that was all I would get. Then I realised I was mad. I was mad at those stupid Olympians for hurting this guy. Then I wondered where that thought came from.

"When can I get out of bed?" I asked.

He laughed. "If you think you're ready, you can now." He reached out a hand to me. I grasped it and pulled myself up. He led me out of what I guessed was the infirmary and into the sunshine. I saw Bellatrix sitting on a nearby tree stump and felt guilt wash over me. I hurried over to her and knelt down.

"Hey, look, I'm really sorry if I offended you earlier. This is all so crazy and new to me-"

Bellatrix laughed. "No bother girl. Want the grand tour?"

"Sure!" I said excitedly.

She took my arm and spun me around.

I met a beautiful sight.

Children of all ages were walking, chatting, and fighting with swords. There were 18 different cabins arranged in a U-shape, while kids played basketball and other games in the middle. I saw a lake off to the left of the cabins and a forest off to the right. The lake was dotted with canoes and people in wetsuits and swimming togs. A huge marquee with canteen tables was near the lake. A circle with stone steps was beside the infirmary. It had a fire pit inside and I assumed campfires were held there. Twenty foot high beings walked around, interacting with children and glowing with power. With a start, I realised one of them must be my mom. There was a large town behind the cabins, with skyscrapers, and other buildings. I realised Bellatrix was talking to me.

"-and that is New Othrys, where Demi's can grow old, get married, go to college, heck even have kids!"

One of the glowy people walked up to Bellatrix and greeted her. He had golden eyes and dark brown hair. My mouth dropped again. Holy cow, this was Kronos.

My mind felt like melted ice cream. Bella was hugging the same guy who ate his kids. Holy Othrys, HOLY OTHRYS!

"A new one," Kronos boomed. "Welcome."

Huh. Not so scary.

"Thank you," I managed to choke out.

Kronos moved on to talk to a regal looking glowy woman with golden hair. Bella sensed my nervousness.

"Aw, don't worry, dad's nothing but a big softie. To most," she said, finishing off her sentence with her evil smile. "So the Titans spend most of their time here, meeting and teaching their kids. You'll probably be claimed at dinner."

"By my mom?"

"Yup," Tyler said.

"Are we going to, you know, fight the gods and their kids any time soon?" I asked.

Bellatrix did her evil smile. "Two days time, actually. Would you like some information?"

I was sitting in the Kronos cabin ten minutes later, eating these weird squares called ambrosia. Tyler told me that Demi's could eat as much as they want, but half bloods can only eat small amounts. Well, ya boo sucks to them!! All you can eat brownie and ice cream tasting stuff!

Bellatrix started telling me information: "We have plenty of spies in Camp Half Blood. Silena Beauregard, Clarisse La Rue, Nico di Angelo, Katie Gardener, Connor and Travis Stoll, Thalia Grace, Michael Yew, Charles Beckondorf, Castor and Pollux Ballard, Miranda Gardener, William Solace, Luke Castellan, Chris Rodriguez, Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson are only a small portion of our spies. Heck, we even have some gods on our side. Hades, Persephone, Hera, Dionysus and Apollo are all on our side. Some gods wanted to switch, like Athena, Poseidon, Ares and Artemis, but they all felt too much loyalty to Zeus. Kinda sucks that he's got two war gods on his side. Oh, and we have tons of minor gods with us too! Hecate, Thanatos, Enyo, Nike, Hebe, Iris, Nemesis, Hypnos, Keto, Kymopoleia, Tyche, Morpheus, Janus, Aeolus, The four winds: Boreas, Euros, Notus, Zephyrus, and so many more. They're all sick of being overlooked by Zeus."

There was silence for a couple of seconds.

"Girl, we got this in the bag!" I exclaimed. "Can I fight?"

"Sure, we just gotta get you armour, a weapon and you're good to go! Once we get claimed, our best fighting techniques get hardwired into our brains," Tyler explained.

A horn blew in the distance.

"Dinner time!" Bellatrix exclaimed and she sprinted out of the cabin towards the marquee. I hung back though.

"Hey, what is it?" Tyler asked me.

"I'm about to find out who my mom is," I whispered. "My whole life, I've dreamed about it. What happens once I know her?"

Tyler tilted my chin up to look at him. Wow, he's handsome I thought.

"Then you get a new dream," he said in a low voice.

I resisted the urge to kiss a guy I've only known for half an hour.

"Come on," he said, taking my hand. I swear to gods Othrys my brain exploded. He led me out of the cabin. I focused on not hyperventilating.

I sat down in between Bellatrix and Tyler at a table with a couple other people in the dining marquee. At the far end was a high table with eighteen seats. Kronos and another woman I took to be Rhea sat in the middle. Kronos stood up. The dining hall fell silent.

"Demititans!" he boomed. "And welcome to our resident demigods," he nodded towards a group of around fifty kids sitting together. "In two days we take Olympus. Let us pray to The Fates that all goes well."

The hall yelled back: "The Fates!"

Kronos continued. "And welcome to our newest Demititan, Sofia Holland!"

The hall cheered and I went red. Then the whole hall turned to the high table expectantly. I held my breath. Who was my mom?

A woman stood up. She had light brown hair and wore a green dress. She had deep green eyes. She looked exactly like me.

"Hail Sofia Holland," she said in a melodic voice. "Daughter of Mnemosyne, Titan of Learning, Memory, Remembrance and Language. Welcome, Daughter."

A symbol of a book with a brain on the cover of it beamed over my head. The hall erupted into cheers. I knew I was grinning like an idiot but I didn't care. I had a mom now. That's all that mattered.

After dinner (which was the most delicious meal I'd ever eaten, and don't even get me started on the dessert) Bellatrix and Tyler brought me over to a group of kids with the same coloured hair as me and introduced me. A guy who could have been my twin, but a guy said he was my Head counselor, Aiden O'Hearn. Other people introduced themselves.

Lieutenant counselor: Katrina Moneta

Taylor Casey

Daniel Monty-West

Raven Moneta, Katrina's little sister

Alvin Garcia, who was a legacy, which meant her grandmother was Mnemosyne.

Cianna Catali

Logan Drew

Bella waved goodbye and told me she'd see me at the campfire later.

S'mores.

Cue the crazy demon smile.

Aiden led the group over to our cabin.

The cabin itself looks like a normal cabin, but the roof was basically a giant open book, and there was a bronze open book over the cabin door. On the inside, the cabin was basically a GIANT library, with wall-to-wall-to-ceiling books, and book themed furniture. There was a wall of bunks at the far end. Everyone sat down on a different bunk. They all had piles of books on their beds and each bunk was decorated to fit personalities and interests. Logan had stickers all over his bunk and Taylor had a Nintendo in hers. Aiden sat beside me after climbing up my ladder.

Oh yeah, I had a top bunk.

He explained my abilities:

"Children of Mnemosyne can speak any language.

Children of Mnemosyne tend to make good writers and enjoy reading.

Children of Mnemosyne tend to have eidetic memories.

Children of Mnemosyne tend to learn other languages easier, as their mom invented other languages.

Children of Mnemosyne can sometimes have the ability to see other people's emotions, sorrows and thoughts through touch.

Children of Mnemosyne can put people in the illusion of a memory they have seen in their own life or the memories of other people, including themselves. ( very rare, but can be possible.)

Children of Mnemosyne can cure Amnesia.

Children of Mnemosyne have the ability to share memories with others by touch."

"What's an eidetic memory?" I asked.

"A photographic memory," Katrina called from her bunk. "It means the ability to recall an image from memory with high precision for a brief period after seeing it only once, and without using a mnemonic device."

I blinked.

Aiden laughed. "You'll get used to it."

He climbed down from my bunk and started rummaging around in a wardrobe. He pulled out a T-shirt and handed it to me. It was black and had the words CAMP DEMITITAN printed on it in gold. I slipped it on over my green vest top. A horn blew again and everyone else leapt off their bunks. I quickly jumped off of mine too.

"To the campfire!" Aiden called in a mock British accent, holding up his arm like he was wielding a sword.

"Huzzah!" the cabin shouted back.

We marched out and joined the throngs on Demis walking towards the campfire-amphitheater-type-thing. I sat down beside Bella and Raven. Tyler was in front of me, talking to another boy with icy blue eyes. I assumed that was one of his brothers. His hair looked sooo soft.

Snap out of it! I told myself. Yes he's cute, but you've known him less than a day. Quit planning a wedding!

Marshmallows were handed out and toasted, songs were sung and I laughed more than I ever have in my life.

Later that night, as I lay in bed, I looked back on the day. Everything had been perfect. I met my mom, made friends, and gained family. I would fight for recognition in one day. I sighed and snuggled under the covers.

Life was good.
