The next morning Elena woke up feeling refreshed. She smiled at the thought of everything that had taken place over the last 24 hours. Just yesterday she was wondering how she would ever forgive Stefan. There was so much that they needed to talk about and work on but she was content. They were both together again. Everything wasn't perfect but it was enough. Being with him was enough for her. They had a shot at happiness again. Her hopes of being with him were alive again. After everything they had been through she didn't think they would ever make it back to each other. Just months ago she was promising Matt a future with her. But in the back of her mind she always knew that Stefan was who she longed for. The reason why she never could fully give herself to Matt was because her heart was with Stefan. Nothing made her feel more alive than being with him. It had been so long since she felt this way but she was happy. Ready to embrace it and take on whatever life threw at them. Rolling over she missed the heat of his body beside her. It was strange how she so quickly became addicted to him again. She listened for him. She didn't hear him but she did smell breakfast. It smelt amazing. Stefan Salvatore was a God in the kitchen. The man would surely take care of them one day because it was rare for her to make a decent three course meal. Wrapping a blanket around her she headed down stairs. He moved with such grace in his flannel pajama pants and a white t-shirt that hugged him perfectly.

"Good morning." She smiled at him earning the brightest smile she had received from him in weeks.

"Good morning." He said reaching for her as she opened her arms welcoming into the warmth of her blanket. He kissed her softly before resting his forehead to hers.

"Sleep good?"

"I did." She said kissing him once more allowing him to get back to cooking. She went about making herself a cup of coffee deciding to just watch him. "Jeremy just texted and asked if I wanted to have dinner tonight."

"He okay?" Stefan laughed. It was unusual for her little bother to want to hang out with them.

"Maybe he misses me." Elena shrugged just as puzzled as him.

"I'll miss you tonight." Stefan told her making Elena's heart swell by his sweetness. "Maybe he would want to come here?"

"I could ask him. We could invite Bonnie too." Elena nodded thinking it over.

"What are we doing tonight?" Lexi asked coming to sit beside Elena as she sleepily took it all in rubbing her bed head.

"Dinner." Elena said. "Care to join us?"

"Free food?" Stefan rolled his eyes at her question. "Count me in."

Stefan smiled shaking his head handing Lexi a cup of coffee. "I'm really happy for you two." Lexi said sipping her coffee.

Stefan looked at Elena to see her loving smile. She looked so happy this morning that he couldn't shake it. He promised to do everything he could to keep her this time. If it meant he had to pull crazy strings to make her dreams come true then he would. This time was his one and only chance at keeping her happy. He was a fool before and refused to lose her again. Stefan made them both a plate of food. He loved having both of his girls with him and happy. They were all he needed in this life. Stefan was a happy man. It seemed impossible to be this happy at this age but he truly was.

"Thanks." Elena smiled. "I am just going to head upstairs and shower." Elena finished her food kissing Stefan on his cheek. "It was delicious."

Stefan smiled watching her go. "Lexi I need a favor." Stefan said making sure Elena was out of ear shot.

"I don't have time for your crazy schemes." Lexi groaned trying to enjoy her breakfast.

"Lex please." Stefan pouted.

"What?"

"It's for Elena's Christmas present." This made Lexi's eyes widen.

"I'm in." She agreed.

The days passed quickly as the two enjoyed themselves. Stefan was back to normal with Elena by his side. Nothing could touch him. Elena couldn't be happier with her choice to come home. She had missed Stefan.

"I was thinking we could do something special for Christmas." Elena said as she was snuggled into Stefan's side while Home Alone played on the TV.

"What's that?" Stefan murmured into her hair kissing her head.

"How would you feel about inviting everyone here for Christmas?"

Stefan didn't answer for a moment as he thought about it. How would it be to have them all under one roof as one big happy family? Would everyone get along? Would they truly be happy for them? Stefan wasn't sure but he knew that he was ready to prove himself to her family again. "Whatever you want." He said smiling down at her.

Elena ran her fingers through his hair relieving the tension he was trying to hide from her. "Our first Christmas."

"I like that." Stefan said kissing her sweetly. "Now do we invite my brother?"

Elena was the one that tensed up at this. It had slipped her mind.

"He's my brother Elena." Stefan reminded her gently that he was in fact the only family that Stefan had left besides her now.

"I know." Elena sighed. "I'll extend the invite." Stefan squeezed her tighter. "It doesn't mean I'm talking to her."

"You don't have to do anything you aren't ready to do." Stefan said thankful for her understanding. "What should we cook?" He wondered.

"I don't know." Elena shrugged making him laugh. "I figured you could plan it."

"You seriously need to learn how to cook." Stefan said.

"Why would I do that when I have you?" She teased.

"I don't know what I am going to do with you." Stefan sighed pulling her closer to him.

"Love me?" She questioned turning to look up at him. His eyes seemed to just shine lately and she loved it.

"As if I could do anything else." He promised a he grabbed her face in his hands kissing her. "You organize it and I'll cook."

Stefan held her until she fell asleep in his arms that night. This was his happiness. Her falling asleep in his arms every single night. They had obstacles to over come but he knew if she could be in his arms at the end of each day he would be over the moon. She was his everything. A life without Elena didn't seem possible anymore. Not after sharing his home with her over the past few months even if the first few were torture.

It was Christmas Eve, Stefan and Elena were strolling hand in hand down the street just enjoying their day. It was peaceful and Elena was rambling off the things she needed to get done by tomorrow. Stefan was listening intently making sure they had everything on her list. He was happy that everyone had agreed to change things up and come to their place for Christmas. It was the first time Elena would be celebrating somewhere other than her parent's but he liked the idea. They would be off to college next year and both would be returning to the normal Gilbert festivities.

"Are you listening to me?" Elena asked looking up at him.

Stefan was caught like a deer in headlights. He had stopped paying attention minutes before getting lost in his own thoughts. "Sorry." He smiled wrapping his arm around her pulling her to him. "I got lost in my thoughts."

"Care to share?" She asked with a laugh.

"Just how we are making memories." He said kissing her cheek.

"I love that we are." She said. "Can we grab lunch?" Elena asked pulling him towards the Grill. Ever since they had reunited they had not left the comfort of their home. Stefan wasn't complaining one bit. It meant no drama and more alone time with his wife. He had loved calling her his wife whenever he could.

"Anything for you Mrs. Salvatore." He grinned making her smile widely in return. Elena never knew just how much she would enjoy being called that but hearing it come from him lately was amazing. "Are you blushing?" He whispered in her ear as they walked through the door.

"Nope." She laughed.

"Don't lie to me." He said as he wrapped his arms around her waist resting his chin on her shoulder. "I see your blush." He said kissing her neck right beneath her ear making Elena's eyes close at the close contact. They walked to their table sitting down. Stefan reluctantly let her go so he could sit across from her.

"What do you want to do tonight?" Elena asked looking over her menu.

"I was thinking maybe we could enjoy dinner on the pier."

"It's cold." Elena frowned looking at him to see the mischievous glint in his eyes.

"I can think of a way to stay warm."

Elena rolled her eyes. "Of course you can."

"You weren't complaining this morning."

"Stefan Salvatore." She scolded him making him laugh reaching across the table to grab her hand.

Kissing her hand he apologized for his behavior. "I'm sorry Mrs. Salvatore. I am fully enjoying this whole easing into it thing." He said sincerely.

Elena smiled sweetly at him. They had not really discussed the whole sex thing. It wasn't like they were new to it but neither had initiated anything more than some fooling around. She was ready and she knew that Stefan was more than ready but it was nice where they were at. She had no complaints on how they were stepping back into their relationship.

"Well well what do we have here?" Jenna's voice broke their banter.

"Hey Aunt Jenna." Elena smiled up at her aunt. Jenna couldn't help the own smile that came across her face as she looked at her. Elena looked alive.

"It's Christmas Eve what are you two doing here?" Jenna asked sitting down beside Elena giving her a half hug.

"Eating obviously." Stefan stated with a smirk earning him a disapproving look from Elena and Jenna narrowing her eye's at his smart mouth.

"I was picking up the last of Ric's gifts. I hid them at your parents and I thought I'd drop in here and grab some lunch."

Stefan waived their waitress over so Jenna could order and join them for the remainder of their meal.

"So Ric still searches for his presents?" Stefan asked curious.

Jenna rolled her eyes much like Elena. "He's such a kid. I can't surprise him with anything."

"My dad used to spank us for it." Stefan said grimcing at the memory of when he got caught with Damon.

"Ric's parents apparently didn't believe in that." Elena laughed at her aunt and she noticed the tension in Stefan and she squeezed his hand that she was still holding to reassure him that it was okay. Stefan gave her a soft smile shaking the memory.

"What time are you coming tomorrow?" Elena asked.

"I figured we would head over around noon. Enough time to give you two your space."

"Non sense." Stefan said. "Come over as early as you'd like."

"Do you two realize this is your first Christmas?" Jenna asked. "It's a big moment."

Elena shrugged not really taking it all in and neither was Stefan. Maybe they just were two teenagers living an adult life. "We've shared Christmas before."

"Not as husband and wife." Stefan wiggled his eyebrows.

"Stefan." Elena reprimanded him while Jenna tried to hide her laughter.

"You two should enjoy the moment. We will be over around noon or so." Jenna promised. "I'm sure your mom will be banging on your door before then."

"It will be my first time away from them."

"It's a part of growing up." Jenna said.

"Maybe I'll get to sleep in."

"As if." Stefan scoffed. "You'll be up with the sun like always."

"Begging you to get up." Jenna agreed. "I remember her as a kid being the same way."

"You two suck." Elena said pouting. "I can't help it I love Christmas." Stefan once again brought her hand to his lips.

"I love your Christmas spirit." He winked. "Jenna I don't know if you've noticed but your beauty is just drawling all sorts of attention to us today." He commented finally noticing the stares they had been receiving since they walked in.

Elena and Jenna both looked around noticing as well. Elena wanted to shrink away from all the stares but unfortunately Stefan wouldn't approve it.

"Those stares were how I noticed you two." Jenna said choosing to ignore the others.

"I hadn't noticed." Elena mumbled. She didn't like all the attention because she knew what they were talking about. They were whispering about her sudden marriage to Stefan and her break up with Matt. She had cheated on Matt and lied to him for months. It wasn't what she liked but it was what happened. Elena had caused this herself. She was to blame for whatever rumors were floating around.

Stefan frowned when he looked at Elena to see her discomfort. "Don't be so hard on yourself." He said softly. "They don't know the story."

Jenna knew this was something they needed to talk about without her crowding because eventually they would have to face the music. "Ignore them." Jenna said hugging her. "Enjoy your time. Merry Christmas and I'll see you tomorrow."

"Bring the cranberry sauce." Stefan said standing to hug her. "Thanks for joining us."

"Anytime." Jenna waved before leaving.

Stefan tossed some cash on the table before grabbing Elena's hand and pulling her to stand up. The mood had completely shifted. His carefree Elena was now replaced with the guilt stricken one. He didn't like the effect they were having on her. Stefan wanted her to be free of the guilt. To be able to be happy about how they came to this place. He didn't want her to regret them.

Back at the house Elena retreated to her room shutting the door behind her. Stefan sighed heavily because he knew she just needed a moment to let it pass. Her thoughts were probably driving her mad. Stefan decided he would call Lexi and see how she was doing and maybe get some advice on how to handle the situation at hand. He didn't want to say the wrong thing and upset Elena further.

Elena laid in her bed pondering what had just happened. No one had directly said anything to her but she was smart enough to know what they were thinking. It bothered her more than she cared to admit. Being with Stefan away from the public eye was her dream come true. They had yet to talk about the whispers that would come with them coming out. It was like the past few weeks had been a dream because no one else was around. It was just them to enjoy themselves without the burden of others. Elena liked it better that way. Just the two of them. But that wasn't their reality. They had to face the music sooner or later. She just didn't like it and she didn't want anyone to judge her. Things weren't ideal but she was happy. Stefan made her happy even though just months ago she was cursing his name. He was her happiness. People had to see that. Knowing she probably upset Stefan by running to her room she got up to go find him. He was probably going crazy wondering what he did wrong.

Finding him sitting on the pier with his journal she crawled into his lap. Stefan closed his journal welcoming her into his arms. He needed this. "I'm sorry." She said kissing him.

"Don't be sorry." He said running his fingers through her hair.

"I hate that they are judging us." She admitted.

Stefan sighed heavily. He couldn't change that. It was out of his control. Elena would always worry about what the public thought of her. It was just a part of who she was. It was embedded in her from a young age. Just as it was with Stefan but he grew up under a different man than she had. "Elena look at me." He said making her meet his eyes. "You are a beautiful, amazingly sweet, and loving woman. No one can ever change that. What we did may not have been traditional." Elena rolled her eyes knowing that nothing about them was traditional. "This town is very old fashioned. We know that but we love each other. We are together and yes I admit that we made complete chaos for ourselves to get to this place, but we are here. They can talk all they want. Let them. It makes them happy to have gossip. In a week they will be over us and on to the next scandal."

"I have a reputation to uphold." She said quietly. "I do love you." She promised cupping his cheek in her hand feeling his smooth skin. "I love you more than I know what to do with." Stefan let a small smile form as she traced his lips with her finger. "I just hate to be the talk of the town."

"I know you do." He said feeling sad for her. "I can't make them stop but I promise to try and make it better."

"It's not your fault."

"I just don't want you to regret me. It's bound to get worse when we go back to school."

"Is that what you think?" Elena sat up in his lap turning to straddle him. "You think I will regret you?"

Stefan took a deep breath and let it out. He didn't want to talk about this today but they had to now. "I think with everyone talking you're going to let the guilt eat you. Then you're going to wake up one morning and realize just how young and na ve we were to try this. I don't ever want to wake up and watch you walk away."

"Stefan I will never regret you." She kissed him letting her kiss tell him how much she loved him. "You are my husband now. Do you understand that?" Stefan nodded but Elena wasn't convinced. "We have no clue what we are doing do we?" Stefan shook his head.

"I don't have any idea on how to be a husband much less a boyfriend most days."

Elena laughed lightly at his confession. "I haven't been the best wife have I?"

Stefan tried to hide his smirk making Elena lightly hit his chest. "You could cook more."

"As if." She said running her fingers through his hair loving the feel of it. She was the only one ever allowed to touch his perfect hair. It was something she enjoyed doing and Stefan loved it even more. "I think we both have a lot to work on."

"I agree."

"But I think we are both on the right track. You are everything that I want. The town can talk and it will probably upset me every time, but I'm willing to handle it if I have you by my side."

"I will be there every step of the way. You will never have to go through this alone. We are a team now Elena. Wherever you go I'll follow. This isn't just some game to me. I'm fully committed to being your partner in life."

"So am I." Elena smiled before kissing him again. Neither truly understood what they were getting themselves into but it was something they would figure out together. Being a husband wasn't something Stefan had planned on doing for many years to come but Elena was everything he wanted and he wanted her to hold the highest title in his life. She held his last name and would carry it now forever with her and she deserved his love and respect for that. She had no idea just how happy it made him. They were two kids in love but they were slowly becoming adults each day, together. It was all they had ever wanted even if it was sooner than they planned.

The next morning Elena woke up giddy. Stefan's arm was wrapped securely around her with no signs of being awake. That just wouldn't do for her. Looking at the time she was sure he would complain. So she debated on letting him sleep a while longer. Maybe she could do something special for him this morning. After all last night he had treated her like a queen showering her with a couple of gifts, cooking, and giving her a massage. It was truly amazing just how sweet he could be. It was something she would never get tired of. He was a dream and he was all hers for the taking now. Elena quietly got out of bed making her to the kitchen. She had no clue what she would make for him but she had to try. He deserved it.

An hour later Elena was bounding up the stairs again and jumping onto the bed. She was hovering over him as he groaned trying to roll over but she had him trapped.

"Elena." He whined.

"Stefan wake up." She said way to chipper. "Santa Claus came." She laughed at his frown. He was not pleased to be awake this early at all.

""It's barely 6:30 Elena." He said looking at the clock with squinted eyes. Although he liked the position she was in over him he did not want to be awake at this time. The woman was insane.

"But Stefan I wanna give you your gifts." She said leaning down to kiss his lips hoping to wake him up. Stefan responded softly not giving her much. It made her pout but she knew he just needed a moment. "I have a surprise for you."

"Does it involve you naked?" He asked.

"No." She said laughing as he closed his eyes. With a huff she shook her head. He left her no choice. She started covering his face with kisses trying to tickle his sides. Stefan squirmed trying to get away from her unwanted cold hands on his heated skin. It was uncomfortable and she was making him laugh. It was too early for laughter in his mind. Elena continued not letting up as her giggles and his laughter filled the room. "Merry Christmas." She said between kisses.

Stefan finally maneuvered his arms free and flipped them over unexpectedly. He hovered over Elena now taking in her beauty. She was so happy in this moment and he couldn't help but t study her. "Merry Christmas Mrs. Salvatore." He said with a bright smile. The one she loved. He leaned down devouring her with a kiss of his own this time. "You drive me absolutely mad." He said pulling back to look at her again. If she woke up every single morning this happy he would be the happiest man on Earth. The sparkle in her eyes was undeniable. She was true perfection even this early in the morning.

"Likewise." Elena grinned knowing that Stefan would be driving her mad by the end of the day with the over abundant gifts he was sure to give her. Elena loved presents but she hated that he always bought her way too much. "Can we enjoy our first Christmas now?"

Stefan's eyes brightened at her words but the smirk on his face let her know she wasn't going to get away so soon. "Soon." He whispered. He looked at the clock and then back down at her. "I love you." He said quietly brushing his lips against hers softly making Elena moan. His kiss deepened taking Elena by surprise but she kissed him back none the less. Stefan was a man on a mission as his lips trailed down her

An hour and a half later and freshly showered they were walking into the kitchen. Stefan stopped when he noticed the mess, but he smiled none the less. "I attempted to cook." Elena shrugged. "Although it is probably cold now." She said shooting him a look.

"It was more than worth it." He winked. "Nothing a microwave can't fix." He said taking their plates to warm up. "Thank you for cooking." He said kissing her forehead. "It was really thoughtful of you."

"Don't thank me yet. We haven't even tried it." She laughed making him laugh. "Juice or coffee?"

"I think I'll have juice." He said grabbing their plates and heading to the table. Elena brought their drinks over before taking her seat. Stefan picked his fork up and dug in. It was just a simple breakfast. Eggs and toast with a side of bacon. He was sure she probably had trouble cooking the bacon. He smiled at the thought of her in the kitchen trying not to let the grease pop her.

"Something amusing Stefan?" She raised a brow at him while sipping her coffee.

"I was picturing you trying to make the bacon." He grinned.

"The bacon was a bitch." She admitted making him lean over and kiss her.

"You did amazing." He said. "It's really delicious. I'm not lying either." He knew she would try and accuse him of being sarcastic.

"Thank you, but don't get used to it." She winked at him making his smile brighten even more if that was possible. She was making him so happy this morning. He was sure his cheeks would permanently be stuck from all the smiling he was doing lately. Maybe it wasn't such a bad thing. After breakfast they cleaned up quickly and went about heating up the food they had prepared for their family Christmas. Elena was growing anxious as she watched Stefan. She wanted to open presents now.

"Okay okay," Stefan said tossing the dish towel down on the counter and coming to join her in the living room. "You are such a child." He said shaking his head disapprovingly at her making Elena roll her eyes.

"Don't ruin my mood." She warned him. Stefan grabbed her camera and motioned for her to begin . Elena started by opening her gifts. Stefan had surprised her by buying her clothes, shoes, and jewelry. It wasn't out of the ordinary for him to do such things for her.

"Do you like it?" He asked motioning to the necklace she was holding. It was just something simple but it was enough for Elena.

"It's beautiful Stefan." She said sincerely admiring it's beauty. "You have great taste."

"I try." He grinned. "Thank you for my gifts as well." He said.

"One more." Elena stood up finding the little box and handing it to him.

Stefan looked confused but opened it none the less. His breath caught in his throat when he saw the ring. It was his. The one she had given him the night they got married. He didn't know where she found it at. "Elena.."

"Sh..." She pressed her finger to his lips. "I bought this in Vegas." She said taking it from him admiring it. "I broke my bank." She laughed to herself. "I gave this to you at our little wedding." Stefan listened intently to her every word. "I gave you this ring as a symbol of my love and devotion. It's what bonds us. It seems as soon as I put it on I went against my vows." She looked almost sad but Stefan tucked a strand of hair behind her ear kissing her softly. "But I won't lose sight of us again. I won't go back on my promise to love you forever again." She took his hand in hers slipping the ring on his finger. "I'm promising you right now to love you through the good and bad and to never give up. With this ring I am committing myself to you Stefan. I've made mistakes." She admitted feeling herself choke up at the thought of everything she has said or done to him. "I want my future to be you every step of the way. You are my everything."

Stefan was at a loss for words. "Elena..I..."

"I know." Elena smiled wiping her tears and sealing her words with a kiss. "I love you."

"I love you so much." Stefan said against her lips. "I will get you a ring." He said admiring his own on his hand.

"Stefan you don't have to." Elena said "Having you is more than enough."

"Come here." He said pulling her to him. He couldn't believe he was this lucky. "You are the best gift I have ever received." Stefan smiled down at her.

"Oh before I forget." Elena took off running up the stairs leaving Stefan confused until she ran back down with none other than his Salvatore ring.

"I thought you lost it." He laughed.

"That's what I wanted you to think." She said handing it over. Stefan slipped it back on to his finger not realizing how he went so long without it. "Now you are complete." She grinned.

"I feel complete." Stefan said wiggling his fingers. "Maybe I can get you one."

"I'd like that." She said picking up her coffee cup and sipping it.

"A true Salvatore." He winked loving idea of her carrying the family crest with her everyday.

"Maybe a necklace?"

"Whatever you want." He assured her.

"They should be arriving soon." Elena said looking at the clock. "Do you wanna sit on the porch with me?"

Stefan stood up scooping her up in his arms and carrying her outside. They sat wrapped up in each other watching the sun rise over the water. Neither spoke, they just simply enjoyed the moment with each other. This was their idea of perfection. Together enjoying each other at last. Stefan couldn't be happier. Elena was content in his arms.

"Did you guys not hear me knocking?" An all too familiar voice said startling them.

"Geez Lexi you scared me." Elena gasped trying to slow her heart rate down.

Lexi rolled her eyes playfully with a bright smile. "Merry Christmas Mr. & Mrs. Salvatore."

Stefan kissed Elena's cheek helping her up before he wrapped Lexi up in a big hug. "Merry Christmas Lex." He said squeezing her tight.

Lexi hugged Elena next. "It's kinda cold out here." Lexi said not understanding how they were enduring it.

"Let's take this inside. I have presents." Stefan grinned at the joy on his friend's face.

"I love you." Lexi shouted racing inside.

Soon everyone else was crowded around the living room exchanging gifts. Katherine and Damon arrived and seemed to be on their best behavior. Katherine only said a low hello to Elena before she went to join Damon's side. She didn't want to push her sister on Christmas and it was for the best. Katherine could see how happy her sister was and she regretted taking that from her this past year.

"Elena I have one more gift for you." Stefan said catching everyone's attention.

"Stefan you have given me plenty." Elena said not wanting to receive another gift from him. "You spent a ridiculous amount of money on me."

"Don't act like you don't like it." Jeremy laughed smiling at her.

"He apparently went too overboard with everyone's gifts." Damon said flashing his new Rolex to the family. "I'm not complaining though." He smirked. Stefan always was a giver.

"He has exquisite taste." Elena's mother smiled warmly at Stefan. He had gone out of his way this year to shower the people in his lives with gifts. Lexi was happily playing on her new ipad Stefan had purchased her. She thought it was over the top, but he had assured her he got a deal on it because he had also bought Katherine and Elena one. Katherine was shocked to see that he had thought of her. She knew that even though Elena's name was on the gift along with his that she had nothing to do with it. Elena was relieved that Stefan had done the shopping for her sister because Elena couldn't stomach buying her sister a gift. She didn't want to spend too much time dwelling on it. So Stefan had decided to take matters into his own hands and buy Katherine's gift. It was something simple and something he knew she would enjoy without too much thought behind it.

"Stefan just give it to her." Jenna said sighing ready to see his last gift. She just loved it when Stefan spoiled her niece. He was always so romantic and thoughtful.

"Ugh." Ric groaned. "He's putting all us men to shame."

Greyson laughed and nodded his head in agreement but he loved that his little girl was being taken care of even though it was by someone other than him. Stefan surely would put all of their best efforts to shame to please their women. He always did have a way about being over the top.

Stefan was kind of embarrassed by all the attention he was receiving but he hated to do anything less than the best for people, especially Elena. She deserved the world and he would give it to her piece by piece. "It's something I've spent a lot of time on." He said softly smiling at his wife. He handed her a simple box that was neatly wrapped the best it could be. This gift in particular she knew was wrapped by him. He had informed her Lexi wrapped all her other gifts. This was important to him she could sense that. "Go on." He encouraged her waiting for her to unwrap it.

Elena did so slowly wanting to savor whatever was inside the box. Opening it she pulled out a set of keys. She raised an eyebrow at him in question and he was wearing his boyish smile. The one she loved so much. "Dare I ask what these belong to?" She asked.

Stefan grabbed her hand helping her to her feet as he lead her outside with their family following. He opened up the garage and there sat a candy apple red 1967 mustang. She was left speechless as she stared at the beautiful car.

"You remembered?" Elena felt tears coming to the surface. The whole family was left speechless as the stared at the classic car. It was no secret that the Salvatore brother's were fond of the classics, but this was over the top.

"How could I forget?" He asked kissing her temple as he stood beside her. Elena was taken back by this. They had the conversation when they first realized how crazy they were for each other. Stefan had asked her if she could have any classic car what it would be. Elena immediately thought of the mustang. She had always loved the style. Stefan had promised to rebuild one for her.

"How long did this take you?" She asked walking around the car and admiring it.

Stefan shrugged not wanting to give her the details.

"Since the night you said this was your dream car." Damon said looking inside the car. He had spent hours with Stefan working on it.

"Even when you were pissed at me?" Elena asked with disbelief.

"Elena don't talk like that." Miranda scolded.

"That's when he worked harder." Lexi laughed.

"You are so good to me." She cried as Stefan took her in his arms. "I love you Stefan."

"Go on try it out." He said kissing her lovingly. He was giddy with excitement. Elena opened the door and there laid in the seat an envelope with her name on it. She sat down loving the feel of the leather beneath her. Opening the envelope she gasped.

"What is it?" Jenna asked curiously.

"Stefan this is too much." The tears were in full force now falling down her cheeks. Tears of joy for this man loving her so much.

"Nothing is too much for you." He said as she got out of the car throwing her arms around his neck clinging to him. He held her close embracing her. This was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. He wanted to love this woman and enjoy spoiling her to pieces.

"He got me a trip to New York." Elena said not letting him ago.

"What's in New York?" Jeremy asked not all that interested. All he cared about was the bad ass car his sister just received.

"Our future." Stefan said proudly. "Elena and I will be visiting the University while we are there." If Elena wasn't already chocked up she would be now.

"Stefan what about Stanford?" Elena asked.

"You see this ring?" He flashed his wedding band at her and Elena nodded. "This means I go wherever you go. But we won't ruin Christmas by discussing that right now." He informed her.

"You two are going to be just fine." Miranda smiled happy for them. "Now Elena take us for a spin." Her mother said making everyone laugh.
