Chapter 91 Gym Leaders VS Students [Follow Your Heart Extra: That sounds interesting.]
Drew's POV
One Hour Later
Brock and I walked into the teacher's lounge and saw Will and Sophie.
"Can we come in", Brock asked.
"Come in", Will replied and we did as told.
"We had an idea for a fundraiser", I revealed. "I talked to my sister...and she said we can have a fundraiser at her restaurant! She also said she'll do concessions for free so you won't have to pay for that." [Follow Your Heart Extra: Read Chapter 85 to see what Drew is talking about.]
"Oh thank goodness", Will said in relief. "Tell your sister that we are very grateful for what she is doing."
"What type of fundraiser did you guys have in mind", Sophie asked.
"We were thinking about having a Pokémon tournament at the restaurant and having people buy tickets to see it."
"We've decided to do a students VS gym leaders tournament", Brock revealed. "I've contacted a bunch of my old gym leader friends and they said they'll do it!" [Follow Your Heart Extra: Yes!]
"That's an amazing idea", Sophie praised. "I knew I could count on my students to figure something out!"
Five Days Later
Ash's POV
Everybody was at the Pokémon Café for the tournament.
I was wearing a baby blue shirt with a white Pokéball on it; dark grey jeans; red sneakers; a red cap with a white Pokéball on it and black, wrist length, fingerless gloves.
Bri walked onto the stage.
Her outfit was pretty much the same but she had the café's logo on her top.
"Hello everybody", she greeted. "And welcome to our gym leaders VS students tournament!"
Everybody cheered at this.
"Okay", Bri started. "Let's give it up for our first contestants! Former gym leader and student Brock Iwa VS student Brick Ningyō!"
With that everybody cheered as Brock and Brick walked onto the stage.
Brock was wearing a black, short sleeved shirt; swap green jeans; black trainers and a swamp green waist coat.
Brick was wearing a black hoodie; royal blue jeans and black sneakers.
"Heads or Tails", Bri asked.
"Heads", Brick replied.
"Tails", Brock replied.
With that Bri flipped a coin.
"It's heads", she revealed. "Brick goes first."
With that Bri walked off the stage.
"Okay", Brick said before getting out a Pokéball. "Let's go Gigalith!"
With that said Pokémon appeared on stage.
"My turn", Brock said before throwing a Pokéball. "Let's go Sudowoodo!"
With that said Pokémon appeared.
"Let's do this", Brick Exclaimed! "Gigalith, use Headbutt!"
With that Gigalith charged at Sudowoodo.
"Dodge it Sudowoodo", Brock commanded.
Sudowoodo did as told...and Gigalith ended up head butting the wall instead!
"Gigalith", Brick said in concern.
"Alright", Brock said happily. "Now use Hammer Arm!"
With that Sudowoodo did as told.
"Dodge it", Brick commanded.
Gigalith did as told.
"Now use Sand Attack", Brick commanded.
Gigalith did as told...and Sudowoodo was blinded!
"Sudowoodo", Brock said in concern.
"Yes", Brick yelled happily. "Now finish him off with Headbutt Gigalith!"
With that Gigalith did as told...and Sudowoodo was knocked off the stage!
"Sudowoodo", Brock yelled as he went after him.
"Sudowoodo is unable to battle", Bri pointed out as she ran onto the stage. "That means Brick and Gigalith are the winners!"
"Yes", Brick yelled happily before hugging Gigalith. "You did it buddy!"
"Good job Sudowoodo", Brock praised before putting said Pokémon in it's Pokéball.
He then walked up to Brick and held out his hand.
"Good job Brick", he praised.
"Thanks", Brick said before shaking Brock's hand.
With that Brock and Brick walked off the stage and Bri walked onto it.
"Okay", she started. "It's time for our next two contestants. Please give a warm welcome to former gym leader and student Misty Misu and student Dawn Daiyamondo!"
With that Misty and Dawn walked onto the stage.
Misty was wearing a white, knee length skater dress with long, flared sleeves that were aqua blue from the elbows down; white, knee length, high healed boots; white, seashell earrings and a white, pearl necklace with a seashell pendant.
Her hair was wavy and loose.
She was wearing aqua blue eyeshadow with white eyeshadow at the top; rose pink blush and rose pink lipgloss.
Her were painted in a white and aqua blue ombré style.
Dawn was wearing a pink, long sleeved top with a black Pokéball on it; a hot pink, knee length shirt with a black plaid pattern and black lace on the hem over black tights under black combat boots; a black, long sleeved leather jacket; black, leather, fingerless gloves with gold spikes on the knuckles and a baby pink chocker with gold spikes.
Her hair was straight and loose.
She was wearing hot pink eyeshadow with black eyeshadow at the top; black eyeliner on her eyes with winged up tips; black mascara; hot pink blush and hot pink lipstick with black lipliner.
Her nails were painted hot pink with black Pokéballs and black tips on them.
"Heads or tails", Bri asked.
"Heads", Dawn said.
"Tails", Misty said.
With that Bri flipped a coin.
"It's tails", she revealed. "Misty goes first."
With that Bri walked off the stage.
"Okay", Misty said. "Let's go Togepi!"
With that Togepi jumped out of Misty's arms.
"My turn", Dawn yelled. "Let's go Nidoran!"
With that said Pokémon appeared on the stage.
"Okay", Misty started. "Togepi! Use Earthquake!"
With that Togepi used Earthquake causing the whole café to shake!
"Nidoran", Dawn yelled. "Use Peck!"
With that Nidoran used Peck on Togepi.
"Use Earthquake again Togepi", Misty commanded.
Togepi did as told.
"Use Focus Enegry Nidoran", Dawn commanded.
Nidoran did as told and hot Togepi.
"Use Earthquake one more time Togepi", Misty commanded.
Togepi did this...and knocked out Nidoran!
"Nidoran is unable to battle", Bri said as she walked onto the stage. "That means Misty and Togepi are the winners!"
"Yes", Misty said happily before hugging Togepi. "Good job Togepi!"
Dawn put Nidoran in her Pokéball before walking up to Misty.
"Good job Misty", she said as she held out her hand.
"You too Dawn", Misty said before shaking Dawn's hand.
With that the girls walked off the stage and Bri walked onto it.
"Okay", she started. "It's time for our next contestants. All the way from Lumiose City, please give a warm welcome to Lumiose City gym leader Clement Èlectrique!"
With that everybody cheered as Clement walked onto the stage.
He was wearing a white, long sleeved dress shirt that was buttoned up; light brown dress pants; dark brown loafers; a baby blue cardigan that was buttoned up and his glasses.
"Going against him is student Gary Oaks", Bri revealed.
With that Gary walked onto the stage.
He was wearing a dark purple, long sleeved shirt; black jeans and black sneakers.
"Heads or tails", Bri asked.
"Heads", Gary replied.
"Tails", Clemont said.
With that Bri flipped the coin.
"It's heads", she revealed. "Gary goes first."
With that Bri walked off the stage.
"Okay", Gary said. "Let's go Blastoise!"
With that Blastoise walked onto the stage.
"Alright", Clemont said. "Let's go Luxray!"
With that said Pokémon appeared on stage.
"Let's go", Gary exclaimed. "Blastoise, use Hydro Pump!"
With that Blastoise did as told.
"Dodge it", Clemont commanded.
Luxray successfully dodged the water.
"Excellent work Luxray", Clement praised. "Now use Swift!"
With that Luxray did as told.
"Dodge it Blastoise", Gary commanded.
Blastoise successfully dodged the attack.
"Now use Skull Bash", Gary commanded.
"Dodge it", Clemont commanded.
Luxray successfully dodged the attack.
"Now use Thunder Fang", Clemont commanded.
With that Luxray did as told...but ended up hurting himself against Blastoise's shell!
"Oh no", Clement said in dismay.
Gary smirked at this.
"Perfect", he said. "Now use Rapid Spin!"
Blastoise did as told and hit Luxray!
"Come on Luxray", Clemont said. "We can do this! Use Discharge!"
With that Luxray did as told...and Blastoise was paralyzed!
"Oh no", Gary said in dismay.
"Oh yes", Clement said happily. "Luxray, use Wild Charge!"
With that Luxray did as told...and Blastoise was knocked out!
"No", Gary yelled before dropping to his knees.
"Blastoise is unable battle", Bri pointed out. "Which means Clemont and Luxray are the winners!"
"Success", Clement said before hugging Luxray. "Excellent work Luxray."
Clement then walked up to Gary and held out his had.
"Excellent job Gary", he praised.
But Gary just growled before walking off the stage.
Clement just look confused before walking off the stage as well.
"Okay", Bri said as she walked onto the stage. "It's time for our last contestants. Please give a warm welcome to student Ash Ketchum, and the Pokémon Academy's very own gym leader Andy Nise!"
With that everybody cheered as Andy and I walked onto the stage.
Andy was wearing a white, long sleeved shirt, royal blue jeans; red sneakers and a red, long sleeved hoodie that was unzipped.
"Heads or tails", Bri asked.
"Heads", I replied.
"Tails", Andy replied.
With that Bri flipped the coin.
"It's tails", Bri revealed. "Andy goes first."
"Okay then", Andy said before looking at Houndoom. "You ready for this buddy?"
Houndoom barked before walking onto the stage.
"My turn", I yelled before throwing a Pokéball. "Let's go Pinsir!"
With that said Pokémon appeared.
"Alright", Andy started. "Houndoom, use Toxic!"
"Oh no", I yelled in dismay.
With that Pinsir was hit with Houndoom's poison!
"I can't believe it", I said in dismay. "Two can play at that game! Pinsir, use Toxic as well!"
With that Houndoom was hit with Pinsir's poison!
"I see you want to fight fire with fire", Andy pointed out. "Or poison with poison in this case. Looks like I need to do something before it's too late. Houndoom, use Hidden Power!"
With that Houndoom did as told...and...made Pinsir faint!
"Pinsir", I yelled as I ran up to said Pokémon.
"Pinsir is unable to battle", Bri pointed out. "Which means Andy and Houndoom are the winners!"
With that Andy kneeled down besides Houndoom and pet in head.
"Good job boy", he said.
"Good job Pinsir", I said before putting said Pokémon in it's Pokéball.
I then walked up to Andy.
"Good job Andy", I praised.

I just smiled at Andy before we walked off the stage.
He went to go talk to Sophie and I sat down next to May.
"Sorry you lost", she apologized.
"It's okay", I stated. "I did my best and that's all that matters. Anyway, I'd better get to a Pokémon Center and heal up Pinsir."
"I'll go with you."
