Chapter 93 Having a Girlfriend

Ash's POV

The Next Day

I walked into my mother's office.

"Hi honey", she greeted.

"Hi mom", I greeted before sitting down. "Can we talk?"

"Of course", my mom replied. "What's up honey?"

"Well for starters I have some good news", I revealed. "May and I are dating!"

And that ladies and gentlemen is how my mom ended up letting off and ear piercing scream before tackling me into the most bone crushing hug ever. [Follow Your Heart Extra: Yikes.]

"I can't believe it", she said happily. "My son has a girlfriend!"

"Yeah", I said happily. "But that's where the bad news comes in."

"What", my mom said before breaking our hug. "What bad news?"

"May's family is moving back to Petalberg", I revealed.

"What", my mom asked. "No fair! I was already planning your guys' wedding."

"Mom", I scolded blushing hard. "Anyway, that's why I'm here. I was wondering if you could offer May's dad a job so he can come work here and then his family doesn't have to move."

"Of course! Anything for my new daughter in law!"

"Mom!"

Twenty Minutes Later

After TEN minutes of my mom gushing over me having a girlfriend, I left to go talk to said girlfriend.

We met up at the Pokemon Café.

"Hi", I said before kissing her cheek. "I have great news!"

"Me too", May revealed. "But you can go first."

"Okay", I said excitedly. "I talked to my mom, and she said she'll give your dad a job!"

For some reason...May didn't look happy at this news. [Follow Your Heart Extra: Uh oh.]

"What's wrong", I asked. "Aren't you happy?"

"Of course I am", May stated. "It's just...my dad already accepted a job offer." [Follow Your Heart Extra: (does spit take) What?!]

"What", I said in shock. "From who?"

"From me."

With that I turned around...and gasped.

Because standing behind me was...Gary! [Follow Your Heart Extra: (does spit take again) Gary?!]

"Gary", I said in shock. "What's going on?"

With that Gary sat down and put his arm around MY GIRLFRIEND'S shoulder.

"My dad has decided to open up a gym right here in Pallet Town", Gary revealed. "And of course, a gym needs a Gym Leader!"

"Isn't it great Ash", May asked before getting up. "Now we can stay together!"

With that May hugged me...and I glared at Gary.

I'm happy that May is going to be staying. Doesn't mean I have to be happy about how.

"Well", Gary started getting May and I to break our hug. "I have to go. See you later May."

"Thank you so much for doing this Gary", May said before hugging him, making me very jealous. "It means so much to me and my family."

"Anything for you May", Gary stated before smirking at me. "I have to go now. Bye!"

With that Gary left.

"Okay", May said before turning around. "I'm gonna go order. Do you want anything?"

"You can get me a..."

"Piece of chocolate cake with a coke", May finished for me.

"How did you..."

May just giggled before kissing my cheek.

"That's what you order at your mom's restaurant all the time", May pointed out. "And I work there remember?"

"Oh", I said blushing. "Right."

May just smiled before leaving.

I turned around and saw Drew, Brock and Dawn walking up to me.

"Well well well", the former started. "What's it like having a girlfriend?"

"Great", I replied happily. "But something happened?"

"Trouble in paradise already", Dawn asked.

"Oh no", I said suddenly. "Nothing like that! But you see, Gary's dad offered May's dad a job."

"Oh boy", Drew said.

"Look on the bright side", Brock started. "This means May gets to stay here!"

"That's true."

That Night

May and I walked into my house.

"Have I told you how happy I am that you're staying", I asked.

"Only a billion times", May stated.

"What", I asked. "My very beautiful girlfriend is staying here with me. How can I not be happy?"

Before May could say anything else...I heard an ear piercing squeal! [Follow Your Heart Extra: Huh?]

My mom ran into the room...and tackled May into a big hug!

"There's my son's girlfriend", she said happily.

"Mom", I said. "Be careful! You're gonna hurt her!"

"It's okay", May reassured. "My mom did the same thing when I told her I had a boyfriend. Fair warning, she's probably going to do the same thing when you see hear again."

"Got it", I said.

And just when things were going so great...this happened.

"What's going on?"

I turned around...and gulped.

Sky was here...and I had not told her about May and I yet. [Follow Your Heart Extra: (gulps) Oh no.]

"May", she said in shock. "What are you doing here?"

Before I could say anything, my mom (who has no idea what's going on) said this.

"Didn't you hear honey", she asked. "May and Ash are a couple!" [Follow Your Heart Extra: (gulps again) Double oh no.]

With that Sky looked at as in shock.

And then...in anger. [Follow Your Heart Extra: (gulps again) Okay! Stop making me gulp!]

And to make matters worse...mom said this.

"May, you should stay for dinner!" [Follow Your Heart Extra: (gulps again) I said stop it!]

One Hour Later

That's how we ended up at a very awkward dinner table.

Well, it was awkward for the teenagers who knew what was going on. Since my mom had no idea what was going on, she was just spitballing questions at May and I.

"So tell me May", she started. "How did my son ask you to be his girlfriend?"

"He took me to the tree where we first met", May revealed. "Then he just asked me."

"I wasn't even planning on doing it", I revealed. "I was going to the Pokémon Centre after the tournament. May went with me. We walked past the tree on the way back, and then I just asked her."

"I think you should thank me", Andy said suddenly. "This wouldn't have if I hadn't whipped your butt in the tournament!" [Follow Your Heart Extra: Burn!]

With that everybody started laughing.

Except Sky.

She was not laughing.

HotXbun: Oh boy. This is not good.
