"Say goodbye to your daughter," Emilio grinned.

The moment Emilio let go of Grace, Danny lunged towards him but his movement was too slow for the bullet. A shot rang out and Danny was thrown backwards as the bullet hit him. For a moment, silence was all Danny could hear before he was brought back to reality. The sirens rang louder. Emilio dashed out, leaving Danny and Grace on the floor. Danny pushed the pain to the back of his mind and crawled towards his daughter.

"Grace! Wake up, Grace!" Danny begged as he began untying the ropes binding her hands and legs. Grace flinched and her eyes opened. Her eyes were hazy but she could hear a familiar voice.

"Danno?" She eked out. "You came." Her voice was slightly more than a whisper and she shut her eyes again.

"Yes, it's me!" Danny assured, stroking her face gently. "I came. You're okay.. You're okay. We're going home."

Danny lifted Grace up and placed her hand around his shoulder as he supported her weight.

...

Five-0 arrived on scene, closely followed by HPD and the two EMTs that Junior had called in. As the team rushed out of their vehicles, they spotted Reyes running out of the warehouse.

"I got him!" Junior called out as he ran full speed towards Emilio. Emilio opened fire at Junior which he promptly returned. Junior landed a shot on Emilio's thigh. His body was thrown forward by the impact, his hand lost grip of the gun and it was flung out of his reach.

He dragged his body on the ground trying to reach out but he was too late as Tani planted her feet on his wrist. "Too late, you psycho."

Junior and Tani lifted Emilio up and cuffed him, handing him over to the HPD officers before rushing into the warehouse.

Steve and Lou had proceeded inside the warehouse, "Grace! Danny!"

From the room, Danny could hear his partner's voice. "Steve.. over here!" He called out.

"Danny?!" A wave of relief washed over him as he heard Danny's voice but his heart stopped when he saw Grace, barely conscious, leaning heavily on her father while Danny walked as fast as he possibly could towards them.

"Danny! Wha.." Steve started but he stopped when he saw the blood staining Grace's shirt.

"Steve, EMT?" Danny asked, desperation in his voice.

"They're outside, come on. Grace, you're gonna be alright, you hear me," Steve assured.

"Un..cle St..eve," she answered weakly.

The paramedics rushed towards Danny and took Grace from him, swiftly moving her into the ambulance. Danny followed them onto the ambulance and sat next to Grace.

"Danny, I'll see you at the hospital." Steve panted.

Danny gave him a slight nod then returned his attention to his daughter. The door shut and the paramedics yelled "Let's go. Let's go."

As the paramedics did their work, Danny tried to stay out of the way as much as possible. He held on to Grace's hand, and his eyes fixed on her. In his head 3 words repeated itself over and over again I'm sorry, Grace.

...

Steve marched towards the car that was holding Reyes. He dragged Reyes out of the car and landed a punch on his face. Reyes dropped to the ground. Steve crouched next to him. "If anything happens to her, I'm going to kill you myself." Steve warned.

"I'll wait," Emilio grinned.

Hearing those words, Lou got riled up. The anger he had been trying to contain unleashed itself. He marched forward from behind Steve and dragged Emilio up before landing another punch on his face, "You scumbag... Take this animal away from here!" Lou yelled.

"We'll take him. You two go ahead to the hospital we'll meet you there," Junior said as he and Tani dragged the man away.

...

Steve's truck closely tailed the ambulance all the way to the hospital. As the ambulance came to a stop and Grace was wheeled into the emergency room, Steve and Lou promptly joined Danny's side.

"Danny, Danny! You alright? How's Grace, huh?" Steve asked Danny impatiently. He needed to know what's wrong with her.

"I don't know, Steve," Danny's voice was barely audible. "Re..yes, he got away."

"We got him, Danny. He's in custody," Lou spoke. "Danny, Grace is going to be fine."

Danny nodded. He momentarily felt relieved to hear that Emilio was in custody before he remembered. "Rachel? Is sh.. how is she?"

"She's fine."

Danny took a deep breath but his rib and abdomen protested by sending a wave of pain through his body. "Ch..arlie? Is he... safe?" Danny winced.

"They're both okay, buddy." Steve analyzed Danny's face. Somethings wasn't right. "Danny, are you alright?"

Before he could answer, Danny's legs gave way as he could hardly support his own weight any longer. Steve grabbed on to Danny's arms to catch his fall.

"Danny! What's wrong?" Lou called out in alarm as Steve scanned Danny's body for injuries.

At a glance, the injury wasn't obvious beneath the already blood-stained shirt that Danny was wearing but upon closer inspection, Steve spotted the wound on his abdomen and the telltale drops of blood on the ground.

"Danny, you were hit? Hey, hey stay with me!" Steve held onto Danny's arm. "Hey! Somebody I need help!" Steve shouted.

"He h..urt my fa..mily. S'm...my fault." Danny's eyes fluttered closed.

"Danny, it's not your fault. Come on buddy, hang in there." Steve called out.

"Danny, Danny!" He heard Steve's voice fading out and then nothing.
