"Here you go!" Kofuku said with a big grin as she set the bowls of noodles in front of Kasumi and Ren. "Thank you." Both Kasumi and Ren said at the same time. Ren then looked at Kasumi, staring at her expectantly. Kasumi nodded at him, "Go ahead." Ren grinned and immediately began to dig in, while Kasumi turned to her bowl.

Yato gave the two an odd look. "Where'd you find these two again?" Hiyori turned back to Yato. They were near the front door, away from Ren and Kasumi so they wouldn't hear them. "Kasumi over there stole a purse, and I promised to give them dinner if she returned it." Hiyori said as she watched the two eat. "They don't seem to have a home."

"So?" Yato asked, tilting his head to the side. "So?! Didn't you hear me? They don't have a home, Yato!" Hiyori said, aghast. "They could also see me." Yukine added from where he was leaning against the doorframe, looking out into the night with a thoughtful expression. Yato frowned. "They're human, right?" He asked. Hiyori nodded.

Yato was quiet for a moment, seeming to be deep in thought. "Yato?" Hiyori asked. "Well, it isn't impossible." Yato suddenly said. "Some humans aren't affected by blind spots." Yato paused, continuing after he saw the confused look on Hiyori's face. "So babies can see into blind spots, right? Sometimes that ability doesn't wear off, for one reason or another."

"What are the reasons?" Hiyori asked with a frown as Yukine turned his head to gaze at Kasumi and Ren, as if simply looking at them might reveal something. "Depends." Yato shrugged. Kasumi turned her head to look at the three, and her gaze met Yukine's. Yukine blushed, and Kasumi quickly broke eye contact, looking back at her empty bowl.

"Well, looks like we're finished." Kasumi remarked as she stood up. Following his sister's lead, Ren quickly did the same "Thank you. We'll be leaving now."

"Why don't you guys stay the night!?" Kofuku exclaimed, leaning forward. "It'll be like a sleepover!" Kasumi blinked at her, eyes wide. "Er, thank you, but I don't think-"

"Al sleepover?" Ren asked, "I don't think I've ever had a sleepover before." He turned to Kasumi, taking a hold of her shirt. "Kasi, can we have a sleepover?" Kasumi stared down at Ren, before she let out a defeated sigh. "It goes against my conduct, but it'll be cold tonight." Kasumi looked at Kofuku. "Fine. I'll take you up on your offer." Ren threw his hands up, shouting, "Yay!" Daikoku, who had just walked in from another room, frowned. "Offer?" He looked at Kofuku, teeth gritted. "What are we, a boarding house?!"

"Well, we have one more room! I don't see why not. If you won't let me have some fun, I'll bring the fun here!" Kofuku huffed, before she turned back to Kasumi and Ren. Kofuku giggled as she skipped out of the room. With a sour expression, Kasumi followed her, Ren still gripping her shirt.

"Well, at least that's a problem solved.." Hiyori shrugged.

Yato turned to where Daikoku was silently storming. "Got any leftovers?"

Yukine walked down the hallway, a bundle of blankets taking up his arms. He had been told by a pouting Daikoku to give the two "intruders" some extra blankets so they wouldn't freeze. Yukine neared the door of their room, when he heard a soft voice singing.

"Sleep little pigeon, and fold your wings, little blue pigeon, with velvet eyes, sleep to the singing of mother-bird swinging, swinging the nest, where her little one lies." Yukine paused at the door, before he slowly opened it.

Kasumi sat next to a sleeping Ren, who was covered in a soft blanket. Kasumi quietly looked up to Yukine, who stood there for a moment. "Uh, here." He suddenly said, holding the blankets out. Kasumi stood, walking over to the door. Not looking Yukine in the eye, she silently took the blankets from him. He paused before he said, "You, uh, sing pretty good." Kasumi looked up at him, eyes wide. "You heard me?" She asked, seeming suddenly shy. "Yeah, actually." Kasumi looked down, and Yukine caught the faint blush on her cheeks from the dim light.

Yukine felt his own face heat as Kasumi turned around, and walked back to where Ren was sleeping. Turning around, Yukine quickly closed the door.

Kasumi had suddenly seemed so vulnerable, compared to how she was earlier. What in the world was going on in her head? Stuffing his hands into the pockets of his jacket, Yukine began to walk back down the hall.

"Smells nice."

Yukine whipped around, coming face to face with a huge, neon, mutated and lumpy spider, dozens of eyeballs staring straight at him. Screaming, Yukine jumped back as the spider snapped its pincers at him.

"Yukine!" Yato ran into the hallway, skidding to a stop as he caught sight of the phantom. "Sekki!" Yato yelled, raising his hand up. Yukine turned just as he shot into Yato's hand, materializing into a sword. The spider screeched like a cat, and lunged for Yato. Jumping back, Yato cut into the spider's head in one good stroke. Hissing, the spider reeled back.

Down the hall, the door opened and Kasumi peeked out, eyes wide as she caught sight of the phantom. Whipping around, she slammed the door shut. Hearing the commotion behind it, the spider turned to the door, searching for easier prey.

"No you don't!" Yato shouted as he threw himself at the spider, slicing into its backside. Wailing a high-pitched scream, the spider disappeared in a flash of light.

"Good job, Yukine." Yato said as Yukine materialized in human form. Yukine smiled. "Thanks." He turned to where the spider had disappeared to. "But how did that thing get in here?" Yato crossed his arms as he strolled over to Kasumi and Ren's room. "Well, let's find out." Yukine's eyes widened. "You don't think Kasumi and Ren brought it in here?" Yato opened the door, saying, "It's completely possible."

"You're not getting him, you filthy bastard! I'll drag you straight to-" Kasumi suddenly stopped talking when she realized that it had been Yato who walked in. She stood in the corner, Ren behind her, gripping her shirt with teary eyes. Yato caught the gleam of a dagger through the dark, Kasumi's fist wrapped around it tightly.

"Oh." She murmured, all fury drained from her eyes. "It's just you." Yato stalked into the room, narrowing his eyes at Kasumi. "Any idea where that phantom came from, princess?" Kasumi grit her teeth at the name. "Phantom? So that's what you freaks call those things? What happened to it anyway?" Yato stopped in front of her, his eyes gleaming dangerously in the dark. "Don't change the subject."

Kasumi glared up at him. "You think I would bring that thing here? How low do you think I am!"

"We haven't had this kind of trouble up until now." Yato said, cocking his head to the side. "If you'll be honest, It'll save us both trouble." Ren hiccupped as a tear fell down his face. Kasumi turned her head to look down at him, shoulders slumping. "Honestly, we didn't bring it here." She sighed. "But those things have been attacking Ren every damn day."

Yato stared down at her, before he nodded. "I believe you." Kasumi looked up at him. "It's dangerous out there, and it only gets worse for the people who can see those phantoms. That one must have been keeping an eye on you two." Yato continued, stepping back. "It's a miracle you guys survived this long."

Kasumi looked around Yato, frowning. "Seriously, what happened to that, er, phantom?" Yato turned around, head tilted to the side. "Me and Yukine killed it."

Kasumi gaped at Yato, before she turned her gaze to where Yukine was standing halfway into the room. "Killed it? How?"

"Well, Yukine turned into a sword, and I used him to chop the monster in half in one swing." Yato bragged. Kasumi paused, about to say something, before she shook her head. Yato turned to her. "What? You're not going to ask how?"

Kasumi sighed. "I've seen a lot tonight, and I'm tired. If it's that important," She turned to look where Yukine stood, his eyes wide. "I'll find it out eventually."
