Name: Ryoto Asahi

Quirk: Dragon-soul, transforming into different degrees of this creature in addition to being able to use and control fire.

Downside: A limited amount of fire can be used if not the user suffers from burns of different degrees. That can be overcome in case they transform, though the user might lose control over themselves after a certain amount of time.

The students were all happily chatting away. In the span of one day, small groups had already begun forming. Ryoto Asashi was really envying them.

What should he do? Should he go talk to them or wait for them to invite him? There weren't many students left in the first place. It's already the second day, and more than a half was expelled. That's really a shame. He was resolved to befriend all of them.

Let's focus at the matter at hand. Who should be his first friend target?

Sitting a few seats in front of Asashi was a short brunet who seemed lonely by himself. He certainly had the same problem as him. Should he go talk to him and cheer him up? (It was just his selfish imagination. The boy, contrarily to what he was thinking, seemed pretty relaxed.) And, he gave off a gloomy aura that screamed, 'Someone, please, talk to me and be my friend'. He suffered from the same predicament as he was. (Again, selfish baseless assumption.) As expected, I shall converse with him. I really should. A pink-haired girl a few seat across him was looking at him in pity. Do I really seem that lonely? Am I really that pathetic? No, I shall prove to her my convictions. I am going to him. Wait, wouldn't it be rude to suddenly walk up to him? I shouldn't carelessly attack. First, let's analyze the situation. A dull voice was heard. He turned his gaze to the girl. She was face-palming and looking at him like he was some kind of moron. Why would she do that? Is she able to read mind? She slightly nodded her head. What? Really? She nodded again. He blushed in bashfulness. That's disastrous. I'm so ashamed of myself. Please don't tell anyone.

Asashi was so invested in his thoughts that he did not notice Yugi walking up to him.

I'm so useless, I cannot even make a friend. I wonder what friends even are. Where on earth do they come from? How do I even make them? Do people become friends after they eat with each other? Do they become friends after being spiritually bound to each other or something? After conversing with each other?

"Eho!" He was suddenly brought to reality by the cheerful voice of his classmate… the brunet. (He really should memorize their names) He waved his hand before his eyes. "Ryoto-kun, right? Are you alright? I was trying talking to you for a while now. You were so invested in your thoughts," he smiled playfully.

"Um… I-I… I am sorry!" Ryoto averted his eyes and he caught again those of the mysterious girl. She was glaring dangerously at the boy before him. A chill run down his spine yet it wasn't even directed to him. His classmate acted like he was not aware of that… or perhaps he really was not? No matter which, both of them are really terrifying; her for being able to shoot such malice from her eyes that she could melt any other one and him for withstanding that.

Yugi chuckled again, "You really get lost in your thoughts easily. I'm Yugi Amane, by the way."

"I-I… I'm," Ryoto was still having difficulty comprehending what was happening.

"Ryoto Asashi-kun, I remembered your name."

He felt bashful and embarrassed because although he remembered him, Ryoto didn't do the same.

"You were looking troubled there. Is there any problem?" The boy, Yugi, seemed like a kind person.

He breathed shakily and tried to calm himself. "I-I apo-apologize for the inconvenience; I am r-really an awkward talker, I was always told that. Therefore, I am not good at handling people." Yugi's eyes narrowed for a second and his mouth formed a thin line.

"Yugi-san, is there an-"

"Amane!"

"Huh?"

"Call me Amane. Can I call you 'Asashi', too?"

"Huh?"

"I believe we'll be close friends. So, what do you say?"

"E-eh? That's too sudden!"

"Hmm? I don't see the problem." He looked genuinely puzzled. "I want to be your friend. Or is it that Ryoto-kun doesn't like me?"

"N-no!" He interjected. He felt so small when he was stared at by those amber eyes. It's like he was looking at his soul. "I-I don't mind." He played with his fingers and lowered his gaze.

"Then Asashi-kun, it is, nice to meet you." He offered his hand and Ryoto took it.

He blushed and excitement filled him like a four year old. "Nice to meet you too, Amane-san."

"'San' is a bit too much, but I guess this is sufficient for today." He seemed satisfied and smiled happily.

"Yugi-kun, good morning."

"Oh! Akane-san, good morning."

The girl seemed to notice the presence of a third party. "Good morning… um" She trailed off.

"Ryoto, Asashi Ryoto."

"Ryoto-kun, my name is Akane Aoi. Are you, by any chance, an acquaintance of Yugi-kun?" She grinned cheerfully.

Amane shook his head. "Asashi-kun and I just talked today for the first time."

"And you're on a first name basis?"

Amane shrugged.

"Well, that evolved fast." The two chuckled excitedly. My God! They are so bright!

There was still some time before homeroom begins. So, they talked about everything and nothing. Ryoto hasn't felt that happy in years. He was pretty unconfident and dull. So, he had some… problems in his childhood. He felt so accomplished now. A small smile painted his face and his eyes light up. My first friends…

"Why don't we eat lunch together?" Aoi happily addressed her new friends.

"That's not a bad idea!" Ryoto nodded with the same enthusiasm.

Yugi, on the other hand, was so engrossed in his thoughts. "Yugi-kun?"

"Oh yeah… I am sorry. I have something to do. Could you head off before me. I'm going to caught up to you later."

"Ok?"

"Is there any problem?"

He dazed off, again. "Heh? Oh no, no! Nothing is wrong." He smiled in assurance.

"I'm finally meeting with Ao-chan," the boy was crying blood. "It's such a curse to not be in the same class as her. I could feel myself dying from the inside."

"Dude, you should stop that. That's unhealthy."

"Akane-kun!"

He clicked his tongue but answered his teacher, Vlad King, politely. "Yes, sensei?"

"As the class representative, I have a request for you."

"What?" A vein popped. "I am sorry sensei. I am busy."

"It's your duty. You volunteered yourself!"

"If it were to stand in the way of Ao-chan and I, then it's just a malediction, a calamity. I don't need it."

"That's an overkill."

"Just come with me," his teacher sighed angrily.

"Shut up! Shut up all of you! Ao-chan! Ao-chan!" (AN: Sorry Akane-kun it's not your time yet)

Yashiro Nene is your everyday high school girl who always pursued love and romance. She was cute and charming. She was good at sports and academics. And, she was really feminine. She even mastered the 'art' of gardening. Then why? Why am I not popular?

The number of times she confessed to someone was numerous and the number of times she was rejected was just as much. Her percentage of success was basically zero. Yeah, that low! And, all of that because of her fat ankles. It's all the fault of these daikon legs. That's weird! That's really weird!

In this time, in this era, there are different types and forms of persons: those with many legs, those with pink skin, those with more than two eyes, those who resembles animals… So, why was she the only one suffering from this predicament? They are popular or at least have some kind of success in their love life, unlike her. That was so unfair, for a fair lady like her to be treated as such by the world. What is wrong with fat ankles, anyway? She had many other virtues. She was cute, her hair was silky and beautiful, her eyes were big and bright, her voice was sweet and melodic. In addition to that, she kind and caring. And no, I am not a vain person. What I am saying is the truth!

She wanted to go to U.A. That way she would become more popular and would enjoy her student life to the fullest. She will grow into a beautiful hot woman and all of those retarded will regret ever rejecting her. Though, she will not unroll at the hero course. It would be just pain and no gain for her. I will choose something closer. She wasn't a fighter (not as amazing as Aoi-chan at least) or even close to being a hero. Yashiro was a selfish girl, she knew that she would not succeed in following the path of heroics. She doesn't have the resolve nor the patience for that. The closer thing, she chose, would be the support department. She will be as popular as her idol, an outstanding genius who works with the pro hero Deku (and she would not say that somewhere along the line she may or may not had a crush on him). Hatsume Mei was her name. And, if she was lucky, she could even form a duo with some handsome student or senpai. A senpai would be better.

Just wait for me, world, Nene Yashiro is coming.

It's just the beginning of her life.

Strolling down the hallways of UA, Yashiro was searching for the cafeteria. She had promised her best friend Aoi to eat with her. Speaking of which, Aoi successfully entered the hero course. Wasn't she cool?

Minutes passed by and she was not able to find her way. Are? Am I lost?

"I still don't understand why you chose to follow me." She heard a voice coming from the corner. Nene sneakily peeked, for whatever reason she was trying to hide from them. There, she saw a brown-haired boy talking to… something? Someone? An invisible person? Or perhaps a phone call? No, he did not have one on him. He was crazy?

Well, that boy was cute, she had to give him that. But, he was short and he seemed like a loner. I mean look at him, talking to air like that and standing alone while his classmates are bonding somewhere. Anyway, he was not her type. And, look at how frail he looks. Is he even a high school student? He would not be from the hero course, that's for sure. And for how long is he just going to be standing there? It has been minutes since and he has not said another word –just staring at nothing.

"I still kinda don't get you." He sighed "Anyway, what do you think of this place? Is it good enough for you?"

For the first time, she saw a… something, a floating something beside him. She could make out the general shape of the thing; Some kind of small animal, a squirrel? Oh wait, it's a two tailed kitsune. I see: so the boy was talking to it. Now, it makes sense.

… Or not.

Wait…

What is that?

She turned, her back facing the boy. What on earth was she seeing? Perhaps it is his Quirk? A quirk that summons apparitions?

"Hello," a hand was posed on her shoulder.

She screeched. "Kyyyaahh." And, she swung her arms at them.

"Ohoh! That was a close call!" The boy dodged her attack, a playful smile pasted on his face.

"W-w-w… I thought I was gonna have a heart attack." She patted her chest to calm her beating heart.

The boy chuckled in amusement. "So, what were you looking at? It's not good to stalk people." He slyly joked.

"I-I… I was not."

"What a perverted daikon you are!" He pointed at her legs.

"D-d-d-d-daikon?!" She shook in anger and clenched her fists.

"Anyway, are you lost? If you are searching for the cafeteria, it's-"

"Waaahhh," she blushed in embarrassment as she sprinted away.

"-that way. Hmm? What a weird girl!"

"Don't you think that was rude?" Yako curiously gazed at the disappearing form of the girl.

"Hmm? Yeah, I think. I should probably apologize the net time I see her."

Yako sighed, "Well, do you think she heard anything?"

"Most unlikely. You saw how she was so engrossed in her thoughts. She could have heard some bits but I believe she did not catch most of what I have said. Anyhow, let's finish up with you and head to the cafeteria."

Yashiro panted tiredly. "That… that… that jerk!" She threw a tantrum as she stormed down the stairs.

She suddenly stopped. "Wait a minute. Where am I again?"

The cafeteria was full of people. The chatters and rustles of students invaded his ears. Seats were not for a specific grade but the cafeteria was divided in three principal categories; the third years were taking the seats near the window or near Lunch-Rush. The second years were taking most places as they were numerous and the first years were spited in between the two major years, forming small groups. There was a certain tension amongst seniors and sophomores: like two fractions who competed to rein the other. The freshman's presence was dull compared to them. Their gazes were naïve and they will still immature. It's a surprise how much difference is between just the second and the first years.

Amane spotted his group thanks to Aoi who waved her arms and called for him. As he approached his small group of friends, he saw a new addition, a classmate, with them.

"I cannot stop shaking from excitement," the white-haired girl shyly but energetically stated. Amane placed his tray on the table and sat next to her. She turned to him, startled for a second. "H-hello. You're Amane Yugi, right? I'm Aizawa Eri, nice to meet you!"

"I remember you. Nice to meet you too, Aizawa-san. Oh, may I call you 'Eri-san'? I think it's weird to call you with the same surname as Aizawa-sensei."

"Y-yeah, I don't have any problem."

"Speaking of which, is he your father?"

"Yes! My foster father more exactly. He might seem a harsh person but he's really kind and thoughtful."

Amane smiled in response and ended their private chat by addressing to his other two friends. "Anyway, what were you talking about?"

"Nothing much, just imagining how our first Hero Basics Training would be."

"I am so excited."

"Yeah, normal lessons are kind of boring. Even though, we are taught by pro heroes."

"Who do you fancy our teacher to be?"

"I don't have any particular preference."

"I hope we have an amazing hero."

"Me too. I remember there was that year where All Might himself, the legendary hero, was teaching Heroics. I hope we have a cool teacher too."

"I heard rumors about that, too."

"Yes, I remember that. I've met him before when I came to this school." Aizawa nonchalantly shrugged her shoulders.

"That's so cool."

"Really? You're so lucky!"

"He taught Deku-san and the others." She added.

"What? No way!"

"Have you ever met him?"

"Deku-san?" They nodded. "Yes, he was the one who saved my life. I met all of his other classmates."

"Saved your life?"

She nodded sadly.

"You don't have to talk about it if you want."

"But anyways, that's so cool. You've met the outstanding heroes who are escalading the ranking quickly some of them even reached the top 5."

"Yeah, yeah!"

"How are they?"

"They are all wonderful and amazing people. Bakugo-san might seem like a terrifying person but… well he is terrifying. But, he's also very kind."

The giggled. "Kind of like tsundere."

"Yep –but refrain from saying that around him. Uravity-San is so warm and friendly and Tsu-Chan is like a cool big sister." She continued babbling. "Denki-san is so funny, Ingenium is strict but his hand chops are hilarious, Todoroki-san might seem cold but he's really gentle and he can be funny sometimes. And, he's like a prince." She talked so fast it was difficult to remember all of them. She didn't use some of their hero names so they were confused as to who was who. But they let her continue as she was happily narrating. "And," her smile got wider. "Deku-san is the kindest of all. He's really gentle and cool and so strong. He saved me in more than one way. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him and Lemillion-san. I…" She was so emotional that tears began to gather in her eyes.

"Eri-chan?"

"I-I am sorry. It's just…" She swiped her tears swiftly.

They all grinned at her widely and she returned the gesture.

Ring* Their moment was interrupted by the ringing of a phone.

"Oh I am sorry, I have a phone call." Aoi answered the call. "Mochi Mochi!"

"Aoi-chan," she cried in relief. "Ano ne, ano ne."

Yashiro whined about what happened to her friend. "And that's what happened. That was so embarrassing. Anyway, I encountered Midnight-sensei. She said that if I headed there now, lunch hour would finish and I won't be able to eat. She suggested to eat at the teacher lounge as it's really close. That will be so awkward. I don't want to eat with my teachers."

"You had it rough, huh?"

"Waaaa, I am sorry I couldn't eat with you Aoi-chan."

"Don't worry! But you know, next time, you should use the map that we were given, okay?"

She nodded and then remembered she could not see her. "Y-yes."

"And, you too were at fault. You should not eavesdrop on random persons, Nene-chan."

"But…"

"No buts, Nene-chan!" She grounded her like she was a 5-year old.

"Are you excited for your first heroics lesson," she tried to change the subject in a futile attempt to be subtle.

"Y-yeah, I am a little nervous though." They chatted for a bit more.

"I am sorry. I have to go now." Aoi ended the call and Yashiro was left amongst the teachers. It's all his fault.

"Who were you talking to?" Amane asked curiously.

"My best friend, Nene-chan, she had some problems and could not join us here."

"Oh, I see!"

Ultimately, lunch hour was spent eventfully. Amane was happy because he has earned so many friends on his first day. (He officially supposed it to be his first. The past day was more like a second exam to filter students and grasp the general rules of the school.)

The eight or so students that remained were all impatiently waiting for their heroics' teacher. The door opened suddenly. A gigantic man entered the classroom, marching proudly to the podium. A frown marred his lips. And, from what they have seen, it was a natural thing for him. His sky-blue eyes were as sharp as blades. They could feel the hotness of the man. And not just because of his Quirk, but his aura was also the same: a hardworking, hot and inspiring aura. The pro hero was more intimidating up close, more so because of his glare, height and imposing built.

His tone was harsh when he talked and the scowl was not leaving his face any time soon. Though, for those that knew him before would notice how mush his expressions had mellowed. "My name is Todoroki Enji, aka Endeavor, as you can see I am your Heroics teacher."

'Survival Game' was displayed in bold on a black screen. To put it simply, it is a large electronic monitor placed at the front of the classroom.

"Won't we be studying about the basics first?"

"That's exactly what we're doing. This game will test and improve your stealth, teamwork and stratagem. And somewhere along the line your Quirks, calmness and combat skills. For that, you will be divided in pairs by draw." They had many questions, but Endeavor's glare was discouraging them from inquiring anymore. "Before we begin, I demand you to put on these hero outfits." He clicked on a remote and a bunch of suitcases popped out. They had different reactions but overall they looked excited. "The rest will be discussed when you wear your outfits and join me at ground Omega."

Ground Omega was an extensive forested zone. The entire area was surrounded by a great wall. The place was used to carry out practices and school training of various kinds.

Before the only entrance to the area, the eight students stood still waiting for the instructions of their teacher. His critical narrowed eyes observed each one of them. This was an opportunity to test their judgment. Their hero outfits were requested by the students while the support department was responsible for building them. The students have to take responsibility of everything related to them. It's 100 percent the students' effort. The school intervenes only when there are prohibited, dangerous things requested.

Let's see what every one of them choose.

(As estimated, they were awful.)

Next to the Ground Omega there is a building that serves as an observation post. The teachers monitor from the rooftop how the practices are developing inside. Each duo was stationed in their places as Endeavor observed them.

Team A: Asui & Aizawa

"Asui-san, are by any chance Froppy-san's younger sister? You really look alike and your quirk is exactly the same."

"Shut up! Don't talk to me like that. You're annoying."

A poor chemistry between the two.

Team B: Yamamoto & Saiki

"…"

"…"

Nothing notable. Both of them have poor communication skill and are uncooperative.

Team C: Akane & Mirai

"…Oh really…"

"…And then…" They did not stop talking but not once did they began the topic of a plan.

On the surface, they looked outgoing, carefree, easygoing and bubbly –a good pair with a good understanding to each other. Or so would I say if I did not know better. Out of all, these two are the worst to match, reciprocal hatred for each other and calculative, manipulative words. Each finds the other's presence offending because of how much they are alike.

The pairs are decided by draw; it's a shame they fell into each other.

Team D: Yugi & Ryoto

"So, do you have a plan?"

"N-no, I'm not very good at strategies."

"Wow, me too! But, I think it's best to adopt a stealthy strategy and attack when they are lowering their guard down the most."

The perfect match outwardly. They show decent accordance and they naturally respect each other's presence. For a newly made friendship, they are doing pretty well.

"Each duo is stationed in different parts of the area. The objective is to survive for the longest period possible and rescue 'hostages' from the opponents. The hostages shouldn't be damaged. To raise the difficulty a notch, a couple of robots are added to the site which have to be avoid. Each team is given a nonlethal weapon covered with a special paint of different color. When you receive a 'lethal' attack from your adversaries you automatically fail. The test will grade the overall performance and the period of survival. The last team standing will have a bonus. You will be giving a 10 minutes period of time for discussion."

Team D:

"I-I am felling nervous!"

"Just relax. This is exciting!"

Team C:

"How about we split up. It would be better for the both of us, right?"

"Yes! And you should keep the hostage: it's your idea after all."

Team B:

"I'm sleepy."

"…"

Team A:

"Asui-san, w-we did not discuss our plan."

"Aizawa-san, do I look like I give a shit? I don't. You're just going to stand in the way anyway. So, follow me and shut up."

"Eehhh!" A screech was heard from behind the pro hero. The girl gaped as she saw a familiar mop of brown hair.

"Shut up!" The hero barked.

"Eep! I'm sorry." The girl cowered before the imposing form of Endeavor.

He scoffed angrily. "I knew it was a bad idea for the support department to come here; I don't know what's going with Nedzu's brain and I don't care."

Yashiro and her classmates avoided the fuming hero, according their attention to the footages. A total of 4 groups were formed from what little was left from class 1-A. She heard that the principal ordered the support department to witness the efforts and potential of the hero course. Something about knowing 'your partner and their capabilities'. Of course, she is choosing a hot one worthy of her attention and talent. The sad fact is that there was none as of now. And, worst of all, the rude brunet was part of the mix. Who knew he was in the heroics? So, that is what they mean by 'never judge a book by its cover'. At least, she's got Aoi-chan there. She looked as cool as always. Her getup is so 'hero' like. She will definitely be the winner.

"Get a seat and scribble down some notes or something. Maybe, one of them will be your partner, you should know the most about them; Quirk, weaknesses, strengths…" It was a curriculum made by Nedzu to deepen the trust of the two courses –some activities and projects will be done in pairs chosen from the two courses by the students themselves.

The students compelled without a word. "Today's theme is Survival Game. For more information you may read the guide beside you." He added curtly.

Yashiro gulped in excitement, her red eyes drifting from screen to screen observing the teams. Her friend looked relaxed but somehow her smile was more strained. They were not able to hear what they say so she did not know what they were discussing. The brown-haired boy, on the other hand, was chatting energetically with some red-haired boy.

"And start!" The deep voice of the hero brought her out of her daze and the test began.

Who knows, perhaps I would be able to find my prince.

Next Chapter: Survival Game

Author note: Yay! I was finally able to introduce Nene-chan. Sorry for not bringing her in sooner. I was searching for the right moment and it just wouldn't pop up. Now, more interactions between Nene and Amane. The sad thing is that kou won't be introduced 'till later in the story. Why did you have to be a year younger? Why?
