I came up with this idea because I can just picture it happening to Naruto, but not in the way everyone'll imagine, also I hope everyone enjoys this idea, but if anyone wants to make it different then it's up for adoption.

A Saiyan's Awakening

Chapter 1

Pilot

Konoha Forest

"RRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

A loud roar was heard from from the forest, this roar came from a large creature made completely out of sand, this creature was called Shukaku, the one tailed demon from Sunagakuran no Sato, or Village Hidden In The Sands, as it turned out Suna and Oto had joined forces to take down Konohagakuran no Sato, while the Chunnin Exams Finals were running, with the giant beast being in the forest thanks to it's container's siblings, but they were confronted by Sasuke Uchiha, who wanted to continue their fight, but he had no chance once Gaara unleashed a partial transformation, then Naruto Uzumaki made an appearance, trying to save his friends and teammates, but because of Sasuke's arrogance and ego caused Naruto to be battered away by the partially transformed Gaara through a couple of trees, due to such an attack Naruto was now laying on his back in tremendous pain.

He never thought something like this would happen, that the Chunnin Exams would become apart of a War, with his body broken in such a way, he could feel the fox's chakra trying to heal him, but there was something else, a seal at the base of where a tail would be shattered, no longer holding anything back because as it turned out, from said area a monkey tail had suddenly grew out, but instead of it being brown like any other monkey tail, this tail has golden fur.

For you see, what no-one know was that Minato was in fact a partial Saiyan, or at least one of his ancestors were, but due to this he was born as a Super Saiyan, which is why his hair was such a bright golden blond, but because of how watered down his bloodline was Minato and those of his family never had a tail, that is until Naruto was born.

When Naruto came into being, he too was born a Super Saiyan, but because of the concentration of the bloodline Naruto was actually born into being a full Super Saiyan along with his tail, then came the Kyuubi attack, with both his parents deaths the third Hokage had no choice but to remove the tail and place a seal where it was connected in case it ever grew back, not realising that the seal also hampered Naruto's own growth, making him look malnourished and in a weakened state since he had no idea that a saiyan's true power laid with their tail, but Hiruzen didn't want Naruto to be in danger because of the appendage, since the old man knew that monkey tail or not, Naruto would be persecuted as the fox that was sealed inside him.

Luckily Naruto still stayed as a Super Saiyan, with his golden blond hair, but it also explained his hyperactivity and unbridled stamina.

So now his tail was swishing next to him, his thin body laying down looking up to the sky, "Gah! H-How can I s-save Sakura-chan form that sand m-monster!?" He couldn't help but ask himself, since his crush and teammate Sakura was being held by the monster's sand, unconscious.

While he was laying on the ground, he had the perfect view of the moon, since it was the middle of summer he could clearly see the bright white glow of the celestial body while the sun was still out, his tail swishing up and down, "W-What good is looking at the moon if I can't-!" Suddenly his tail spiked up, along with Naruto blanking out, his chest pumping up and down as though his heart was about to burst from it, his bright blue eyes turning into blank red, as though no-one was home, "Thump! Thump!" He could hear his heart beating in his ears, he was also breathing heavy.

His whole body began expanding, his arms doubled in size, slowly he began sitting up, gasping and groaning in pain, his mouth opening wide to show his canines turning into fangs, his eyes became completely red, now instead of groaning and gasping his voice became a animalistic growl and slowly turning into a roar.

Suddenly his whole body was engulfed in a bright golden light, suddenly his body became that of a giant ape with golden fur, roaring and throwing his fists onto the ground, causing powerful earthquakes around Konoha, catching the three ninja nations attention, causing them to stop fighting, with Suna and Oto ninjas making their escape from such a beast.

GA-Naruto(Golden Ape Naruto) was about to jump towards the mountain, until his vision caught the sand beast, Shukaku, this caused the uncontrollable GA-Naruto to attack Shukaku, smashing the sand monster away, the sand demon tried it's best to stand against GA-Naruto, but because of Naruto's raw animalistic power, Shukaku was having difficulties trying to defeat such a being.

But because of this Shukaku couldn't focus on the sand that was holding Sakura in place, so with that, the sand fell away, causing Sakura to collapse onto the branch waking her up with a gasp.

Looking around, trying to put together what was happening, her eyes landed on the two giants fighting each other, all the while in her shocked state she managed to stand next to Sasuke, who was shaking at such a sight, "S-S-Sasuke-kun, w-w-w-what's going on, w-w-what is that ape thing that's fighting Shukaku!?"

Due to the two beasts fighting, Sasuke was too distracted to answer, but he managed to somehow gasp out, "N-N-Naruto!"

Hearing Sasuke say such a thing was a shock to her system, she couldn't believe that the golden giant ape that was fighting against Shukaku was Naruto, but she had no idea how this happened.

She was about to question Sasuke again until.

"CCCCCCCCRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHH!"

An giant crash was made by Shukaku, the sand beast was defeated, turning back into sand and falling away, this caused the golden ape to hope back in confusion but then roared in triumph, pounding his chest along the way, never realising that it gave the suna siblings enough time to save Gaara and escape.

"RRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRR!"

Sakura couldn't take her eyes off of the giant ape, pounding and roaring in victory, since in a way, it might have been something Naruto would have done in victory if he was an ape, now that he is, she couldn't but say out loud, "I-I guess only Naruto would see this as his win like that."

With Sasuke unconsciously agreeing with the pink haired girl, but as soon as she said Naruto's name, the golden ape looked towards the pair, growling at them, this caused Sasuke to realises that Naruto had no control in this form at all, so he quickly ran away, leaving behind his scared pink haired teammate to deal with the feral GA-Naruto.

With GA-Naruto lifting it's massive fist above his head, getting ready to smash the creature before him into, "NARUTO-KUUUUUUUNNNNNNNN!"

Until the pinkette screamed towards him, causing the beast to stop, moving it's fist away from his target, the great ape had a puzzled look on it's beastly face, grunting and oh-ing in confusion, getting on it's knees and hands to have a close look at this familiar girl with pink hair.

"N-N-Naruto-kun, p-please come back, d-don't become this beast p-p-please!" A tear trickled from Sakura's eye, seeing this, the great ape moved it's finger to the girl's cheek, catching the tear with it's giant finger, wondering why the girl seemed to be crying for him.

The red eyes of the great ape, suddenly cleared slightly, as though it regained something, until the golden ape stood back up and moved away from Sakura.

"RRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"

Until he began roaring loudly, causing the pinkette to cover her ears from how loud he was, peaking her eye open slightly to see what was happening, until she saw the ape glowing gold with lightning blasting from him, "NO NARUTO-KUN!"

Mindscape

Naruto had no idea what was going on outside, he was in a trance-like state, until he heard a voice calling out to him, turning around he saw a vision of Sakura crying for him, seeing her in such a state caused Naruto to reach out towards her, not wanting her to cry, but seeing her tears Naruto couldn't help but have a tear trickle down his check, this one being a true tear that no-one had ever seen before, once that tear dropped from his face, the floor rippled.

Real World

The ground around Naruto began breaking apart, causing a creator to appear under him, Sakura was about to fall towards the creator until Sasuke returned and managed to drag Sakura away, since he thought Sakura was following behind him.

Once the shaking and creator stopped, the two rushed towards where Naruto was, with Sakura taking the lead and Sasuke following behind her trying to stop her from doing something stupid.

But as soon as they arrived, they didn't suspect for someone standing where they thought Naruto would be, but not only that the person was tall and muscular, having a strong and powerful physic, but what really threw them off was the tail, along with the body being covered in red fur, minus his pecs and the upper two abs. Though the shadow trim around his eyes and over his eyelids was crimson. His hair is longer and wilder, reaching down to the middle of his back, while two long pointed bangs of hair appear on both sides of his neck.

He was also wearing a pair of martial arts shoes with blue bands where his orange baggy trousers were tucked into, along with a blue belt to keep his pants up, his long red tail was swaying behind him, coming out of a hole in the back.

His eye colour was yellow, but the two knew for a fact that the person before them was Naruto due to his cheeks having whisker-like birthmarks, but what made them nervous was the serious look on his face, they both knew for a fact that Naruto was never serious about anything, he was always loud and brash.

Sakura slowly makes her way towards the new and different Naruto, "N-Naruto-kun, p-please tell me, are you still you, a-are you still on Konoha's side!?"

Naruto looks towards the much shorter Sakura, his yellow eyes causing Sakura to shiver slightly, whether from nervousness or something else was anybodies guess, until, "(Chuckle!)" Naruto smirked and chuckled, telling both Sakura and Sasuke that he was back and in control of his body again.

Seeing the smirk caused both Sasuke and Sakura to relax and cheer in happiness, minus Sasuke since he never does that, suddenly in Sakura's excitement she jumped towards Naruto and gave him a big hug since she was happy to have her teammate back, though as soon as she felt Naruto hug her back in happiness as well, "He feels so warm and fluffy~!" Due to her face rubbing against his fur, she couldn't help but think such a thing, which in turn caused her to blush at such a thought.

She quickly hoped away, trying to hide her embarrassment, though lucky for her, Sasuke was the one who interrupt, "So Dube, what happened to you, you ended up turning into a giant golden ape and began fighting Shukaku, then when you won you targeted us, until you stopped and began changing into this form?"

Hearing this, Naruto couldn't help but release a sigh, "To be honest Sasuke, while in that great ape form I had no idea what was happening, but now that I'm thinking clearly, I can feel these information in my head telling me what I am and where my power came from, but I didn't think it was from an alien being called a Saiyan."

This surprised the two, but Naruto continued, "I can feel myself getting use to this form, almost like my body is adapting to this amazing power, one second, I think I can release this form."

As soon as Naruto said that, he released his hold on the form, turning him back to normal, but Naruto was completely different, he was now noticeably taller, and also quite muscularly developed for his age, his hair was still the same golden yellow, only now it was longer. (A.N. Teen Gohan build and Shallot SSJ hairstyle.)

Unfortunately, what the trio didn't anticipate was Naruto's clothes, they were completely gone because of his transformation, seeing such a sight caused two things to happen, Sasuke palmed his face muttering, "This could only happen to you, you idiot."

Sakura on the other hand was a blushing mess, while thinking to herself, "So BIG!" But it also caused her to yell out, "YOU PERVERT!" And slapped him across the face, sending him flying and land on his front, while moaning, "I didn't know this would happen~~~!"

Of course such a reaction from Sakura caused the girl to quickly rush over trying to apologies, without looking at certain "things", since it was an instinctual reaction for a girl to hit a boy standing naked before her, though she can't help but think that the golden tail waving around was cute and fluffy, but kept her hands to herself.

What the trio didn't know was the seal that kept Naruto's tail locked away was tied to the Third Hokage's own chakra, since he wanted the next Hokage to switch his chakra with their own, but unfortunately, because of Orochimaru, the third was no longer alive, causing the seal to break and vanish completely, but not only that, due to the seal, it allowed Naruto to accumulate a large amount of the full moon's rays, or Blutz Wave, to allow Naruto the ability to now transform when ever he wanted now, that is, until he's more powerful to handle and control both SSJ form and his new furry form. (A.N. He doesn't know that it's a SSJ4 form.)

(A.N. Got the idea of the seal from Thor: Ragnarok, where Hela was locked away until Odin had passed on, since I figured the battle with Orochimaru didn't give Hiruzen the chance to pass the seal lock to someone else he can truly trust.)

There you have it, a born Super Saiyan Naruto gaining the power of a Super Saiyan 4 due to the third hokage's passing, releasing his tail, golden great ape and Super Saiyan 4 because of his tail being unlocked.

As for pairing, I'd leave it up to whoever adopts, since I'm not sure.
