Chapter 5 : The Unmasked Pyrokinetic
When I came there, I saw that the guys from the Union are being beaten up. I noticed that the numbers on the ABB doubled.
Did they call for reinforcements?
There are some from the Union guys who are bleeding. Though, I was very anxious at those who are lying on the ground, unmoving.
I need to quickly take care of them!
With that decided, I created fireballs and also creates some icicles and then shoots it to the people beating up the Union guys.

The icicle part is something I learned when I was experimenting with my powers. It seems like Reina can also use ice magic aside from her fire magic.
Anyway, I shoot the fireballs at the body of those guys while the icicles targeted their feet.
They didn't notice me until some of them are hit by my magic. They screamed in pain as they clutched the parts that were hit by my attack.
All of my attacks hits. It didn't miss or even misfired and hit one of the Union guys.
This is also something I noticed. It seems like Reina and Sicily are very good at using magic. It was so good that even with my enemy at the far distance, I am confident I can accurately hit them.
I shoot another barrage of fireballs on their body while shooting icicles on their feet. I am doing this while also getting closer to them.

I made some more barrages, hitting them more. Not letting them have a chance to fight back.

Along with my barrages are pinpoint attacks on their hands to disarm them. As for the icicles targeting their feet, I did that to prevent them from moving against me.
... Truthfully, I just felt like alternating between fireballs and icicles. I think it will be an effective strategy?
It was fortunate that I can create enough fireballs and icicles with their numbers. If they have some more guys along with them, those some will be able to move against me. I can't cast more consecutive magic because of some sort of limitation. Like, I can create only ten of these fireballs at the same time before I need to cast it again with my imagination.
I was pretty fsst when it came to imagining things so I can quickly replaced my magic every now and then. Still, if there are more of them, I will be overwhelmed.
It was also harder because I am not trying to kill them. I deliberately weaken the fire I can use. I know I am holding back because I can feel that I can make these fireballs more stronger.

After awhile, I finally manage to pass through these gangs and stand between them and the Union guys. I also stop using my magic when I did that.
The ABB members are now groaning on the ground while some are just screaming. There are others who are gritting their teeth and clutching whatever part I hit them while they are glaring at me.
"Bitch, you will regret this!" One of them spat at me.
"Leave them alone or else!" I threatened while I made a new batch of fireballs iand imagined it going around me.

Still, even with them talking back to me, they are retreating while taking their groaning comrades who are lying on the ground.

After I am sure that all of them leaves this place, I turned to the members of the Union.
It seems like they are not that fine. Some of them are bleeding on their shoulders. There are a few who are in a critical condition.
"Hey... thanks for helping us kid" One of them said with a smile.
"We don't have time for that, let's help them" I said while going towards the men lying on the ground.
"... Right"
I look at their wounds and saw that it was not that bad. Still, it will become worse if nothing was done to save them.
"Can someone on you call the ambulance?"
"I am already doing that miss" I heard one man said.
I am still not comfortable enough to leave them like this.
I can changed into Sicily. One of the things I learned about her is that she can use healing magic. Though I only tried it on myself. Maybe I can extend it to others?
But I don't want to change in front of these guys. Even if they are acquiantances of my Dad, they are still strangers to me. I am just helping them because I was hoping that Dad will contact them someday and I will learn about his whereabouts. There is also the reason that it would leave a bad taste in my mouth if I let the DWU to fall to one of the gangs. Dad tried his hardest to let this place function.
Even if Dad abandoned this place now, this is still a place where he puts a lot of his efforts. I know because he tells me that whenever we talk at each other, even when we converse rarely.
So what to do. I think I should just do some first aid?
"... Hey, I'll be tearing some of their clothes to wrap it in their wound. Is that alright?"
I asked just to be sure.
"Do you know how to do first aid?" One of them asked me.
"Yeah"
I am saying the truth. Somehow, it seems like as Reina, I have a basic knowledge about treating scrapes, injuries, and even wounds. It's like it was essential for me, even though I don't know why she have that kind of knowledge.
I tear one part of their clothes and then created some water to soak it in then I drained it off of water before using another magic to quickly make it dry. Then I wrapped it on the body of the guy who was wounded.
The drying spell is something I learned along with the water creation spell. Somehow, I felt that those two spells are very basic and it can't be used on combat.

After awhile, I am done with all of the wounded. Now there are those who are just injured and minorly wounded.
Some of them came to me to thank me on saving them.

I felt some people approaching us and look there just to see Kurt along with some other guys carrying some blunt weapons like pipes.
Oh right... I don't have a mask...
"What are you doing here?" Kurt asked me while looking at his surroundings.
"This lass save our asses. Do you know her?" One of the man who I saved told him with a smile.
"What? How?"
"She uses fires and ice to beat up those bastards. It was fun seeing those ABB fuckers got what they deserve!"
"She is a Cape!?"
Kurt was surprised as he looks at me again.

Then I heard the sound of sirens on the distance. This marks my time to leave.
I don't want to be questioned what happened here. I can't transform if some people tries to follow me or I was forced to come with them. It might be that I was overthinking things, but there might be an authority figure along wirh the ambulance coming here and they would surely ask me to come with them when they learned about me being a Parahuman.
I might be publicising my identity as Reina, but I don't want my other forms to be known.
And I want to change forms now. I might be provoking the ABB but I don't want to be hunted by them right now. I need to prepare and to have enough time, I need to transform as soon as possible.
"I am sorry Mister Kurt, I need to leave now"
When I said that, Kurt seems like he have some sort of realization before he told me that I can leave now.
"Right, take care of yourself"
He said that to me before I leave.
Now with this, I just provoked the ABB more. Well, it would be preferable if they targeted me. That way, they won't bother the Union anymore.
I leave the scene with that thought in my mind.
As he saw the girl leaves, he turned to his coworkers.
"Hey Kurt, do you know that child?"
"Yeah... we just met yesterday"
He was surprised to learn that Reina was a Cape. She might have a peculiar dress but he just thought it was something teenage girls wears sometimes.
But it seems like Reina wasn't some delusional girl. She have the staff and the dress already. She just doesn't have a mask so his thoughts didn't come to the conclusion that she was a Cape.
The ambulance finally arrives at scene. Along with the ambulance are some police cars.
As the medic goes to those who are critically injured, the BBPD officers were questioning the people who are not injured or only have minor injuries.
They also asks questions to him.
"Can you tell us what happened?"
He told them what he knows. How when he came here, all the gangbangers are gone. A pyrokinetic saves them.
The officers frowned when they heard it from Kurt. Kurt also knows why they are frowning.
He was living in this city for a long time and this city always have an incident involving a Cape. Only the PRT have the jurisdiction to take care of that, forcing the local authorities to drop anything they are doing on thqt case.
And in these days where Parahumans are dominant, Parahuman scene is something most people will always care for. They won't care about minor crimes from those normal people.
So every local authority are not appreciated these days. They can only take care of the run-of-the-mill crimes while the heroes takes care of the flashier ones.
And some of the people in the North America was also badmouthing local officers or even the military because they kept saying that they are not helping enough. Always living it to the people wearing spandex.
Of course those people doesn't know any better. The laws are walling these officers to do what they need to do.
Still, it was frustrating to most police officers because they are just doing their jobs and people have the gall to blame them like that. No one even thanks them.
So it was understandable when Kurt realized what he said.
A Parahuman was involved so they have no choice but to drop this and call for the PRT.
This also lets Kurt realized that he did the right thing and let Reina go on her way.
The girl already unmasked herself just to save his friends and coworkers. She doesn't care even if she was targeted by one of the major gangs in this city.
He knew that this was just naivety but even for a short time, he doesn't want the girl to be known by the public. She might become famous but along with the fame is the danger.
And Brockton Bay is nothing but danger. Even Danny's daughter died because the bus she was riding into just got on the wrong side of the streets and now she was dead.
A Cape will have that danger more closer to themselves. He knows a lot of Capes who came to this city and was never heard of after sometime.
Only New Wave and the PRT have enough force that no one messes with them.
If Reina became public to the people, she will also be targeted by the Empire. Reina looks like someone who can be accepted by the Empire but he doesn't want her to be along with those Nazi Bastards.
He let the girl go because he was sure that the people here will call the PRT and the PRT will surely look at the girl when they learned about her.
They might be at the part of the law but Kurt doesn't trust the PRT that much. They didn't do jackshit about the status of this city and it just became worse since then. They are already on the decline and the gangs was just making it worse. Then the PRT are still playing celebrity with the people here, only coming to the crime scene after it already ended.
Nothing change at all. It was only becoming worse in this city.
He won't like it if Reina also became like those people who are displaying their heroes like they are in some fashion show. Like it was just a game.
"I think Reina have someplace where she can hide. Though, I'll invite her to our house if she doesn't have any place she can go. That's the least I can do for her after she saves my friends" Kurt muttered that to myself.

It was evening when I was done making my disguise. It was just a scarf and a hooded robe I made using the rags I saw on the dumping site.
So like Reina, I found out that Sicily can also do what she can. I can clean those clothes using the simple cleaning spell and dry it quickly using the simple drying spell.
... I don't know why I keep calling it as spells... am I becoming odd now?
After that, I patched it all up by just using my surprising talent of sewing and a bit of magic. I don't have any sewing tools so I improvised by making thin strips of threads using the rags that I have. Of course I didn't forget to clean all of it with my basic spells before using it as threads for the rags.
Then, I also put some enchantments on these clothes.
Apparently, when I was patching up these rags, I unconsciously wrote some Japanese words on it using my magic. I was surprised when these rags became durable that I can't even tear it with my bare hands.
Of course I can't understand the words so I turned into Ringo just to find out about the words. The words I can read there are アンチ魔法 (Anti Magic), 自己修復 (Self-Repair), and 穿通免疫 (Penetration Immunity).
Because of that, I got a great idea and wrote a lot of ideas I have on the wall of this building using a rock. I don't have any writing utensils so I can only resort to that.
Of course I wrote it in Japanese because I think it was the only language I can understand that can put many words in a sentence using few of it's characters. Along with the Japanese words are it's translation in English.
I did this because when I was Sicily, I felt that I can only write some letters on my enchantment. Writing more will destroy that clothing.
When I turned into Sicily, I immediately wrote as much as I can into these clothes, destroying many in the process.
I found out that these rags was very high in quality (I was feeling surprised as Sicily when I look how much characters I can put in my enchantments on those rags, feeling that it was impossible) when I saw that 25 characters are the limit of each of these clothes.
Also, I also felt surprised when I put some enchantments that I felt impossible when I was in Sicily. All of these enchantments I put are also working.
So with that, it took me until this evening to perfect my enchantments on my robe and the scarf. The robe have a total of 25 characters that can be put on it's enchantment while the scarf only have 18 characters as it's limit.
The enchantments I put on the robe are 湿し場の力 (Power Dampening Field), 自己再生 (Self-Regeneration), 自己修復 (Self Repair), 熱快適性 (Thermal Comfort), 心の保護 (Mental Protection), and 体の改善 (Body Improvement).
As for the scarf, It's enchantments are 知覚遮断 (Perception Interception), 自己修復 (Self Repair), 存在の隠蔽 (Presence Concealment), 知覚の増加 (Perception Increase).
There are a lot of reasons why I put those enchantments up. Basically, I wanted not to be recognized, harder to find, not easily Mastered by someone, make it harder for other Capes to target me, make it harder to kill me, and also for the comfort of wearing it. I also don't want to keep repairing this clothes everytime it got a tear or something.
I will be fighting a lot but I don't want to make the gangs make the initiative. If I will be fighting them anyway, I want it to be in my advantages, hence why I pick a lot of Stranger powers.
Also, I am planning to go as Sicily in the hospital. I can't just leave those people from the Union who got hospitalized because I was too slow to help them.
I wanted to heal them. Sicily have the ability to heal them.
But I don't want the others to see my form as Sicily so I tried making some disguise for myself. It was a happy coincidence that I found out about Sicily's enchantment skills. With this, it became more convenient to me.
With that in my mind, I wore rolled the scarf on my collar, putting it on my lower face so it will hide it and then wear the robe and put the hood up.
... I hope the enchantments work and no one recognizes this face. It would be harder for me if they also look around for a person with a beautiful blue hair and an attractive body.
I walk forward while thinking something like that, my destination is Brockton Bay General Hospital.

Sorry for the long delay... I got busy playing Battle Cats because of the event and forgot about writing at all before I sleep.
So I know what some of you who knows Kenja no Mago are thinking. How the hell did those rags from the dumps got a large limit of characters for enchanting?
Well, I just recalled that Shin Wolford thought about the quality of the clothes being one of the requirements to put more characters on an enchantment. He just didn't have the skills to create modern clothing so he thought that he can only use the clothes made by that world.
And then it became my headcanon that clothes made in the modern world are superior than the other world, so it became like that. Of course if this is not real to the source series, just think of this as some sort of AU.
About the necessary Mana to put all those enchantments and how she got enough of it, it will become a spoiler if I told you about that so just wait for it...
The only hint I will say is that it have something to do with Taylor and something... :D
Also, I will be putting more Isekai characters on the list... I just felt it was not a good time to put it in this part because of how the story is progressing.
There are a lot of Isekai female characters that are still not written on the list that I know so I will write it up on the future chapters if I felt that it would be a good part to write it...
